Resource scheduling virtualization in service-oriented future Internet architecture

Service-oriented future internet architecture（SOFIA） is a clean-slate network architecture. In SOFIA, a service request is mainly processed through service resolution and network resource allocation. To realize the network resource allocation, we reference the idea of network virtualization and propose resource scheduling virtualization. In resource scheduling virtualization, a service request is abstracted as a virtual network（VN） and the network resources are allocated by mapping the VN onto the physical network. Resource scheduling virtualization provides centralized resource scheduling control within an autonomous system（AS） and achieves better controllability compared with the distributed schemes. Besides, resource scheduling virtualization supports multi-site selection as well. Meanwhile, we propose a collection of resource scheduling algorithms based on maximum resource tree（MRT） adapting to different scenarios. According to the simulation results, the proposed algorithms show good performance on the key metrics, such as acceptance ratio, revenue, cost and utilization. Moreover, the simulation results reveal that our algorithm is more efficient than the traditional ones.

Retro Jukebox is a tablet-based software application designed for postoperative elderly patients and bedside nurses. The application is designed as a reminiscence aid to support patients' cognitive stimulation. In this paper, we present the lessons learned from a field study that led us to reflect beyond its utility-oriented design. We shed light on some implicit values and benefits that may not be seen as the designer's intentions but are a meaningful appropriation heading toward the same goal. © 2015 ACM.

The services carried by the Internet have undergone tremendous change over the past decades, along with the emergence of multimedia services and cloud computing, etc. However, there is little change in the framework of network designed primarily for reliable end-to-end communication, which is not suitable for these new services, resulting in poor performance of services and inefficient utilization of network resource. In this paper, we propose a network resource allocation scheme base on SDN(Software Defined Network) an emerging network paradigm, to provide Quality of Service(Qo S) support for various services while balance the link load in the network avoiding congestion and idleness. And we demonstrate its performance via experiments under our SDN test bed.

Mobility pattern of users is decided by people themselves. However, in the daily life, mobile users often repeat regular routes in certain periods. To effectively mine the mobile rules of users and allocate the resource among mobile telecommunication operators and Internet Service Providers（ISP）, grasping the models of human mobility can enable effective network planning and advertisement recommending. In this paper, we employ Apriori algorithm method to mine mobile users’ movement model. The algorithm proposed is based on mining the mobility patterns of users, forming mobility rules from these patterns, and finally predicting a mobile user’s next movement by using the mobility rules. The user mobility patterns are mined from the history of mobile user trajectories. In addition to the analysis of individual mobile behavior, it is possible to mine population movement regularity from a large number of user mobile patterns. By studying the group characteristics the place that a large number of users accessed can be found. Operators can optimize the setting of the base station according to the density of users to meet the needs of mobile users.

Interference of human's ankle to the channel characteristics of near surface WUSN

Because of its potential applications in agriculture, environment monitoring and so on, wireless underground sensor network（WUSN） has been researched more and more extensively in recent years. The main and most important difference of WUSN to terrestrial wireless sensor network（WSN） is the channel characteristics, which determines the design methodology of it. In this paper, the propagation character of electromagnetic（EM） wave in the near surface WUSN is analyzed, as well as the path loss model of it is given. In addition, the influence of human＇s ankle to the channel characteristics of near surface WUSN is investigated by electromagnetic theory analysis, simulation and experiment. A novel path loss model of near surface WUSN which takes the interference of human＇s ankle into consideration is proposed. It is verified that the existing of human above the WUSN system may cause additional attenuation to the signal of near surface WUSN which propagates as lateral wave along the ground. Moreover, the relation of the attenuation and operating frequency is deduced, which gives a reference to extend the frequency band applied in WUSN.

In order to study the distribution law of human mobility time attribute and identify the individual identity according to the law, six months real data is collected in different scenarios through the Wireless-Data-Collection-Analysis-system developed by our laboratory. On the basis of AIC, we analyze the time distribution from the perspectives of wireless hotspot group users and individual users respectively. From the perspective of the group users, we verify that the users' daily cumulative dwell time meets the power-law distribution model. According to each user's average daily dwell time, we analyze the probability distribution of the average daily dwell time and conclude that it is consistent with the power-law with exponential cut off. From the angle of an individual user, we analyze the distribution of its daily dwell time in different time sections. The result shows that the daily dwell time probability distribution of the users who work on time is consistent with the multi-peak Gaussian distribution, and the moment of the highest peak point of different individuals are close. However, the distribution of the daily dwell time for those who do not need to work on time is related to the average daily dwell time. The shorter the average daily dwell time is, the better the distribution is in line with the long-tailed distribution.

We are studying the method of developing a platform that delivers large-volume contents efficiently in a many-to-one transmission style, by combining network virtualization technology and the handling of LDGM error correction code. This paper describes its key technologies such as packet routing by using multiple virtual networks, data transmission using redundancy coding, and evaluation of communication qualities, and shows their current outcomes.

Wi-Fi technology is becoming more and more popular and anomaly detection for user behavior is much required in many fields such as public security, therefore anomaly detection for offline user behavior based on Wi-Fi is attracting many researchers' attention. There are already some researches in anomaly detection focusing on single user behavior, while the distribution of group user behaviors is considered in this paper. A novel method using cross entropy model which is usually used for networking attacking in computer network is proposed to detect anomalies of offline user behavior in wireless network. Moreover, to make the anomaly detection available in different scenes, cross entropy model is optimized by using membership function of fuzzy mathematic. Experiments conducted in campus, hotel and office satisfy the expected results, which verify the feasibility and efficiency. And the result retrieved from optimized model is better than that of original model.

Reducing the energy consumption of cellular wireless access networks is not only beneficial for the global environment but also makes commercial sense for telecommunication operators, our research focus on how to put forward a constructive energy saving method in the precondition of guaranteed service quality for customer. In this paper, we based on the signaling data and location data coming from one of Chinese main operator's customers, trying to analysis the law that with the increase of users in a district, how their demand for energy change. Through the use of the law, operators can make a basis when conducting the construction of the base station at the time of city expansion and the redundancy phenomenon of construction of base station can be effectively reduced and then make contributions to energy saving, the law can also be used to provide a reference for city Planning Bureau when they conducting the urban planning and the construction of Green city and then get the purpose of optimal allocation of resources. In our study, we carry out the statistics of 1558053 users from Chongqing city, finally we found that with the increase of customer' number of each special district, the number of total traffic in the city present a change of power function.

Future networks need to get knowledge of users' requirements by analyzing big data to achieve intelligence. OpenFlow is the first standard communications interface defined between the control and forwarding layers of a SDN architecture. So as to enhance network flexibility and availability, this paper presents a network resource allocation scheme equipped with the ability of user preference awareness, by connecting a cloud platform of analyzing users' data. We use the Hadoop platform to predict the rate and type of the incoming flows and employ them to get the lightest burden link through the LARAC algorithm. It has been verified on the BUPT SDN test bed that this system is capable of allocating the network resources dynamically by predicting the network load in advance. The results show that the proposed methods achieve better load balance than previous networks.
