We investigate crosstalk requirements in unrepeateredsystems with distributedraman amplification, by measuring the crosstalk over 50 km of 2-core fibre, and simulating it over unrepeatereddistances. We show that bidirectional transmission can be as penalizing as uni-directional transmission, and that crosstalk requirements are more stringent than in repeatedsystems.
