The growing need for automation of factories and their processes determines a constant increase in the use of robots to carry out various tasks. Multiple robots can do different tasks simultaneously, speeding up processes. This practice raises the question of how many robots are needed to service the entire process, given all the limitations of the operation. One of these limitations is due to the navigation systems used by the several robots in the environment. Line-followers robots, for example, can only meet some tasks but are cheaper than free-movement ones. In this work, we develop an optimization model for task allocation among the available robots to minimize execution delays using mixed integer linear programming, considering their navigation systems. With the model, it is possible to obtain the best task allocation for each robot and the order to perform such tasks, thus avoiding delays as much as possible and getting zero delays for the presented case, that emulates the process of a vehicle assembler factory line.

Every patient has health record, it was written as statement of patient's conditions, treatments, and medications, and nowadays it is become digitalized, it can be copied and shared easily, but the nature of EHR is private, not for public, private between patients and healthcare provider. Privacy preserving can be done by implementing Blockchain network for storing EHR, only authorized users or nodes can access and write data to the network. New block in blockchain created as per consensus among nodes, every node can join a blockchain network if it is public, to meet a consensus required resources intensive cryptographic challenge, in private blockchain, only selected can join and involved in the network or specific transaction. In healthcare, data privacy is the main concerned, need a secure, scalable, and efficient blockchain hence implementing consortium blockchain is perfect match for EHR where multiple healthcare provider can operate in a single platform to conduct transaction or sharing EHR among members. This study analyzes 15 articles derived from IEEE Explore, Science Direct and Scopus by implementing screening with keyword Consortium Blockchain and EHR and proposing new blockchain model accommodating solution for challenges on access, storage, sharing, privacy, and performance.

The notion of the sub-exact sequence is the generalization of exact sequence in algebra especially on a module. A module over a ring R is a generalization of the notion of vector space over a field F. Refers to a special vector space over field F when we have a complete inner product space, it is called a Hilbert space. A space is complete if every Cauchy sequence converges. Now, we introduce the sub-exact sequence on Hilbert space which can later be useful in statistics. This paper aims to investigate the properties of the sub-exact sequence and their relation to direct summand on Hilbert space. As the result, we get two properties of isometric isomorphism sub-exact sequence on Hilbert space. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

Computational music research plays a critical role in advancing music production, distribution, and understanding across various musical styles in the world. Despite the immense cultural and religious significance, the Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo Church (EOTC) chants are relatively underrepresented in computational music research. This paper contributes to this field by introducing a new dataset specifically tailored for the analysis of EOTC chants, also known as Yaredawi Zema. This work provides a comprehensive overview of a 10-hour dataset, 369 instances, creation, and curation process, including rigorous quality assurance measures. Our dataset has a detailed word-level temporal boundary and reading tone annotation along with the corresponding chanting mode label of audios. Moreover, we have also identified the chanting options associated with multiple chanting notations in the manuscript by annotating them accordingly. Our goal in making this dataset available to the public1 is to encourage more research and study of EOTC chants, including lyrics transcription, lyric-to-audio alignment, and music generation tasks. Such research work will advance knowledge and efforts to preserve this distinctive liturgical music, a priceless cultural artifact for the Ethiopian people. © 2024, CC BY.

Basal cell carcinoma (BCC) or commonly known as basal cell cancers is the most common non-melanoma skin disease in the world. BCC is the result of an interaction between a combination of genetic and environmental factors that are directly related to prolonged exposure to ultraviolet (UV) rays, such as the neck and head area. This study proposes to use the CLAHE (Contrast Limited Adaptive Histogram Equalization) method on skin images to improve image quality. CLAHE is an image quality improvement method that aims to obtain images with better contrast than the original image without reducing the quality of the image itself. The experimental results show that the CLAHE image are more accurate than the original image. For quantitative measurements, the performance is seen from the value of accuracy, precision, recall, specificity, and F-score. To be more specific, the experiments utilized the well-known public dataset called ISIC 2018 Dataset (for BCC image), while the normal skin used our own USK-Normal Skin dataset. The results for original image using VGG-16 architecture is 98,3%, ResNet-34 is 97,5%, EfficientNetB0 is 98,2%, and EfficientNet-B7 is 99,7%, respectively. Meanwhile, in the CLAHE image, the accuracy values obtained are higher, for the VGG-16 is 100%, ResNet-34 99.5%, EfficientNetB0 100% and EfficientNet-B7 100%, respectively. The outstanding thermoelectric performance of GeTe has attracted significant attention in the research community in recent years. However, many of the underlying physical mechanisms that contribute to GeTe's exceptionally high figure of merit (zT) remain not fully understood. In this study, an Sb-Bi codoped GeTe single crystal (Ge0.86Sb0.08Bi0.06)Te with an ultrahigh zT of 2.7 at 700 K and a record high device zT of 1.41 in the temperature range of 300-773 K was synthesized and investigated. The ultrahigh zT is attributed to the extremely low lattice thermal conductivity induced by strong electron-phonon (EP) interactions as revealed by the experimentally observed Kohn anomaly, through inelastic neutron scattering (INS) measurements. First-principles calculations further demonstrate that the remarkable EP interaction arises from the Fermi surface nesting featured in a one-dimensional (double-walled) topology. Our finding unravels the ultrahigh-zT mechanism in GeTe-based materials, serving as an inspiring guide toward high thermoelectric performance. © 2024 The Royal Society of Chemistry.

Two main factors that limiting the efficiency of the p-type solar cells are LID(Light Induced Degradation) and LeTID(Light and elevated temperature induced degradation). The major cause of LID is the formation of boron-oxygen defects in boron doped silicon. The LeTID is similar kinds as LID, but also occurs in the dark condition and by the recombination of metals and impurities or the reaction between the hydrogen and arbitrary substance. An overall 7% of LeTID degradation rate occurs over long-term scales. Unexpectedly, these degradations have been recently found to also arises in high purity materials such as float-zone(Fz-Si) and Czochralski-grown(Cz-Si). The proposed method to reduce these two degradations is to use appropriate firing process and annealing conditions. © 2021 Korean Institute of Electrical Engineers. All rights reserved.

Identifying the thresholds of drought that,if crossed,suppress vegetation functioning is vital for accurate quantification of how land ecosystems respond to climate variability and *** present a globally applicable framework to identify drought thresholds for vegetation responses to different levels of known soil-moisture deficits using four remotely sensed vegetation proxies spanning *** thresholds identified represent critical inflection points for changing vegetation responses from highly resistant to highly vulnerable in response to drought stress,and as a warning signal for substantial vegetation *** thresholds varied geographically,with much lower percentiles of soil-moisture anomalies in vegetated areas covered by more forests,corresponding to a comparably stronger capacity to mitigate soil water deficit stress in forested ***,those lower thresholds are detected in more humid ***-of-the-art land models,however,overestimated thresholds of soil moisture(*** drought impacts),especially in more humid areas with higher forest covers and arid areas with few forest *** on climate model projections,we predict that the risk of vegetation damage will increase by the end of the twenty-first century in some hotspots like East Asia,Europe,Amazon,southern Australia and eastern and southern *** data-based results will inform projections on future drought impacts on terrestrial ecosystems and provide an effective tool for drought management.

Managing the traffic system is a multifaceted challenge, imposing various solutions to prevent congestion. Traffic management aims to create an efficient control system with numerous advantages, including reduced fuel emissions, lower stress levels, and enhanced driving discipline. Max Pressure stands as one of the techniques for traffic control, designed to adapt and enhance network throughput by considering pressure, defined as the difference between upstream and downstream queue lengths. Recent developments have yielded improved performance in Max Pressure through learning. In this adaptive control mechanism, the concept of Max Pressure is integrated as a reward function within reinforcement learning. This study introduces the “Max Pressure learning” concept, revealing its potential for creating adaptable traffic controllers. By modifying the pressure equation and transforming it into a performance metric, the original Max Pressure concept effectively responds to diverse traffic conditions. This paper showcases research findings demonstrating the surprising effectiveness of pressure as a control mechanism in the context of the learning process. Ultimately, using pressure enables controllers to efficiently alleviate gridlock situations in traffic, highlighting its promising role in optimizing traffic management and enhancing overall traffic system performance.
