Enabling Stateful TCP Performance Profiling with Key Event Capturing

TCP ensures reliable transmission through its stateful implementation and remains crucial today. TCP performance profiling is essential for tasks like diagnosing network performance problems, optimizing transmission performance, and developing new TCP variants, etc. Existing profiling methods lack enough attention to TCP state transition to provide detailed insights on TCP performance. Thus, we build TcpSight, a tool focusing on TCP state transition throughout connection lifetimes. TcpSight conducts stateful analysis by capturing key events using an efficient per-connection lock-free data management mechanism. Besides, TcpSight enhances profiling by integrating application layer information collected from the TCP stack. With the profiling results, users can identify the culprit of TCP performance degradation, and evaluate the performance of TCP algorithms. We design optional modules and filtering mechanisms to reduce TcpSights overhead. Our evaluation presents that TcpSight incurs an additional CPU consumption of about 16.6% (without filtering) and 10.6% (with filtering) when the server's load is 55.7%, and generates storage consumption about 1.88 KB per connection on average. We also give application cases of TcpSight and the deployment experiences in Alibaba Cloud. TcpSight helps in revealing meaningful findings and insights into exploiting TCP in the production deployment. © 2004-2012 IEEE.

Currently, many researchers aim to achieve automatic depression level prediction via speech and video behavior analysis. However, previous works have struggled to decompose audio and video sequences into the information related to and unrelated to depression scores, hindering the model's perception of depression cues. Besides, previous works implement multimodal fusion using attention mechanisms or linear layers, but failed to simultaneously consider the Euclidean relationship among tokens and the non-Euclidean relationship among channels, which bring limitations in capturing depression cues. In response to the above issues, we propose a depression scale dictionary decomposition framework, which mainly includes a Bidirectional Dictionary Decomposition (BDD) module and a Bidirectional Multimodal Fusion (BMF) module. The BDD module can use the dictionaries generated based on the depression scale to semantically decompose audio and video sequences into the information related to and unrelated to depression scores along token and channel dimensions for promoting depression cue perception. Moreover, considering the respective characteristics of tokens and channels, the BMF module uses linear layers and graph convolution to achieve cross-modal mixing, which is used to aggregate audio and video sequences for predicting depression levels. The validation on AVEC 2013, AVEC 2014 and DAIC-WOZ datasets demonstrates our method's superiority. © 1991-2012 IEEE.

An improved Razumikhin-type theorem is established, and the advantage of the established theorem for reducing conservatism is discussed. For a class of time-delay systems, a simple asymptotic stability condition is deduced as an application of the established theorem. Two illustrative examples are given to show the superiority of our results to those in the literature.

Multi-Objective Load Distribution Optimization for Hot Strip Mills

Load distribution is a key technology in hot strip rolling process, which directly influences strip product quality. A multi-objective load distribution model, which takes into account the rolling force margin balance, roll wear ratio and strip shape control, is presented. To avoid the selection of weight coefficients encountered in single objective optimization, a multi-objective differential evolutionary algorithm, called MaximinDE, is proposed to solve this model. The experimental results based on practical production data indicate that MaximinDE can obtain a good pareto-optimal solution set, which consists of a series of alternative solutions to load distribution. Decision-makers can select a trade-off solution from the pareto-optimal solution set based on their experience or the importance of ob- iectives. In comparison with the empirical load distribution solution, the trade-off solution can achieve a better per- formance, which demonstrates the effectiveness of the multi-objective load distribution optimization. Moreover, the conflicting relationship among different objectives can be also found, which is another advantage of multi-objective load distribution optimization.

The main objective of this paper is to present a depth imaging human activity recognition system that is basically used to monitor and detect normal activities of the person in the indoor environment. The Proposed system runs in real-time and is capable of detecting moving falls, sitting fall accurately and robustly without taking into account any false positive activities. Human activity recognition with high accuracy is a huge challenge in the research world. Fall detection is an important technology in health care and elderly person activity monitoring. The proposed method is feasibility and workability are illustrated throughout the experimental result that shows the perfect human tracking and activity detection. system works well with low lighting conditions;lighting does not affect the accuracy of detecting activities. Moreover, the proposed method is able to avoid false positive as: lying down, retrieve something from the floor. © 2020 IEEE.

The motion of wheeled mobile robots is inherently based on their wheels' rolling capabilities. The assumption is that each wheel can rotate indefinitely, backwards or forward. This is the starting point for all motion control mechanisms of wheeled robots. In this paper, a new motion capability of differential mobile robots with limited wheel rotation capabilities is presented. The robot will be able to travel any distance and change its direction of movement even if its wheels can not rotate within more than a certain range of angles. The proposed solution is based on the bio-inspired controller principles used for modular and legged robots, in which oscillations are generated for achieving motion. A total of two oscillators, one per wheel, are enough to generate well-coordinated rhythms on the wheels to control the robot motion. The kinematics of this new type of mobile robot motion is presented, and the relation between the oscillator's parameters and the trajectory is studied. Experiments with real robots will demonstrate the viability of this new locomotion gait. © 2011 IEEE.

Design and Experiment of Triangular Prism Mast with Tape-Spring Hyperelastic Hinges

Because of the limited space of the launch rockets, deployable mechanisms are always used to solve the phenomenon. One dimensional deployable mast can deploy and support antenna, solar sail and space optical camera. Tape-spring hyperelastic hinges can be folded and extended into a rod like configuration. It utilizes the strain energy to realize self-deploying and drive the other structures. One kind of triangular prism mast with tape-spring hyperelastic hinges is proposed and developed. Stretching and compression stiffness theoretical model are established with considering the tape-spring hyperelastic hinges based on static theory. The finite element model of ten-module triangular prism mast is set up by ABAQUS with the tape-spring hyperelastic hinge and parameter study is performed to investigate the influence of thickness, section angle and radius. Two-module TPM is processed and tested the compression stiffness by the laser displacement sensor, deploying repeat accuracy by the high speed camera, modal shape and fundamental frequency at cantilever position by LMS multi-channel vibration test and analysis system, which are used to verify precision of the theoretical and finite element models of ten-module triangular prism mast with the tape-spring hyperelastic hinges. This research proposes an innovative one dimensional triangular prism with tape-spring hyperelastic hinge which has great application value to the space deployable mechanisms.

The use of Petri nets as a tool for the optimization b simulation of logistic systems of industrial supply is analyzed in this paper. The application of these tools presents two basic advantages: a) on the one hand, their double interpretation, graphic / mathematical, makes the particularly useful for simulation / analysis (optimization) applications, respectively;b) on the other hand, the double point of view, discrete I continuous, as a paradigm for the modeling and analysis of discrete systems. or as a continuous approximation to the real discrete model. These properties are very interesting in a global simulation analysis of Logistic systems, because their management is usuall limited by their high complexity and large dimension. So Petri nets are applied to the modeling and analysis of discrete logistic systems in the classical way, and moreover. using the relatively recent continuization and Iluidification techniques of discrete systems to their continuous approximation. This new methodology provides results with less computational effort. All these properties are illustrated on the application to the logistics of a real net system of production plants. Two additional specific contributions of our research project are presented: a) combination of the logistic system and the productive systems (for global simulation and analysis);b) switching of the continuous simulation to the hybrid simulation when it does not satisfy the approximation of "large population" at any moment.

Configuration synthesis of planar folded and common overconstrained spatial rectangular pyramid deployable truss units

Compared with non-overconstrained deployable units, overconstrained deployable units are widely used in space missions for their higher stiffness characteristics. Besides the performance of a three-step topological structural analysis and design of the rectangular pyramid deployable truss unit(PDTU), conducting a structural synthesis of an overconstrained deployable unit requires the determination of the relative position and direction of each kinematic axis. The structural synthesis of an overconstrained deployable unit is investigated based on screw theory and its topological structure. The possible overconstrained cases of the rectangular PDTUs are analyzed, and corresponding screw expressions are obtained. Thus, the rectangular PDTUs, which can be folded into a plane, are synthesized systemically, and a series of overconstrained rectangular PDTUs is obtained. Furthermore, the feasibility of the folded and deployed motions under one degree of freedom for those deployable units is verified in dynamical simulation by using ADAMS 2010.

This paper present numerical modeling of infinitesimal dipole for the purpose of finding irregularities in real time survey data of marine controlled source electromagnetic survey. Algorithm for numerical solution using staggered grid scheme of finite difference method has been developed by using auxiliary potential functions in Helmholtz equation. Solution is obtained through a) discretized the solution region into number of elements and define boundary condition b) implementing algorithm for resulting system of linear algebraic equations. The results provides detailed understanding of irregularities in survey data caused by improper orientation of source during electromagnetic sounding for exploration of petroleum reserves in deep sea. © 2011 IEEE.
