RE-SEGNN:recurrent semantic evidence-aware graph neural network for temporal knowledge graph forecasting

Temporal knowledge graph(TKG) reasoning, has seen widespread use for modeling real-world events, particularly in extrapolation settings. Nevertheless, most previous studies are embedded models, which require both entity and relation embedding to make predictions, ignoring the semantic correlations among different entities and relations within the same timestamp. This can lead to random and nonsensical predictions when unseen entities or relations occur. Furthermore, many existing models exhibit limitations in handling highly correlated historical facts with extensive temporal depth. They often either overlook such facts or overly accentuate the relationships between recurring past occurrences and their current counterparts. Due to the dynamic nature of TKG, effectively capturing the evolving semantics between different timestamps can be *** address these shortcomings, we propose the recurrent semantic evidenceaware graph neural network(RE-SEGNN), a novel graph neural network that can learn the semantics of entities and relations simultaneously. For the former challenge, our model can predict a possible answer to missing quadruples based on semantics when facing unseen entities or relations. For the latter problem, based on an obvious established force, both the recency and frequency of semantic history tend to confer a higher reference value for the current. We use the Hawkes process to compute the semantic trend, which allows the semantics of recent facts to gain more attention than those of distant facts. Experimental results show that RE-SEGNN outperforms all SOTA models in entity prediction on 6 widely used datasets, and 5 datasets in relation prediction. Furthermore, the case study shows how our model can deal with unseen entities and relations.

Successive Interference Cancellation-Enabled Timely Status Update in Linear Multi-Hop Wireless Networks

We investigate the timely status update in linear multi-hop wireless networks, where a source tries to deliver status update packets to a destination through a sequence of half-duplex relays. Timeliness is measured by the age of information (AoI) metric. Maintaining a low AoI at the destination typically necessitates frequent transmission of update packets from the source. However, high packet transmission frequency in multi-hop scenarios can result in mutual wireless interference at intermediate relays. Specifically, when an intermediate relay receives wireless signals of a new packet from its previous node, simultaneous transmission of an old packet by its subsequent node to the next hop may cause wireless signals to interfere at the intermediate relay, conventionally leading to packet collision. A key motivation to solve this issue is that the intermediate relay has previously received the old packet (which can thus be forwarded to the subsequent node for further relaying). Hence, successive interference cancellation (SIC) can be employed to mitigate interference of the old packet and recover the new packet. This paper designs an SIC-enabled packet relaying scheme tailored to low AoI. Initially focusing on a three-hop network, we subsequently extend our approach to general multi-hop networks. We model the multi-hop relaying scheme using a Markov chain to derive the theoretical average AoI. Theoretical and simulation results indicate that the SIC-enabled packet relaying scheme significantly reduces the average AoI compared to the non-SIC approaches, owing to an increased packet transmission frequency at the source and the effectiveness of SIC techniques at the relays. © 2002-2012 IEEE.

In this work, a novel methodological approach to multi-attribute decision-making problems is developed and the notion of Heptapartitioned Neutrosophic Set Distance Measures (HNSDM) is introduced. By averaging the Penta-Partitioned Neutrosophic Distance Measures under particular conditional criteria, the suggested technique ranks the options. Additionally, we explore the fundamental characteristics of HNSDM and provide several illustrative theorems. The Heptapartitioned Neutrosophic Set Distance Measures are formulated based on the Hepta Neutrosophic Set. Online Queue-Aware Service Migration and Resource Allocation in Mobile Edge Computing

Mobile edge computing (MEC) integrated with Network Functions Virtualization (NFV) helps run a wide range of services implemented by Virtual Network Functions (VNFs) deployed at MEC networks. This emerging paradigm offers flexible edge resource management for Internet Service Providers (ISPs) and improves service satisfaction of diverse applications. However, a critical challenge lies in processing extremely unpredictable and bursty traffic flow, especially in event-trigger sensing tasks. In this paper, we study queue-aware service migration and resource allocation in an MEC network, where different devices with different arrival patterns request different network services. To this end, we first formulate a novel long-term operation cost minimization problem subject to the stability of multiple queues by adopting a simultaneous migration scheme and determining resource allocation dynamically. To address the problem efficiently, we propose an online control framework to make decisions without any prior system information. We first adopt the Lyapunov optimization technique to decompose the long-term optimization problem into multi-per-slot subproblems. Then, we adopt a decoupled optimization algorithm based on the coordinate descent method and augmented Lagrangian method to solve the offline mixed integer non-linear programming (MINLP) subproblems. Extensive results reveal that the proposed online optimization framework can efficiently balance queue stability and cost consumption. © 1967-2012 IEEE.

Optimizing therapy and rehabilitation for Parkinson's disease (PD) requires early identification and precise evaluation of the illness's course. However, there is disagreement about the best way to use gait analysis to categorize the severity of motor symptoms and identify early-stage Parkinson's disease. The precision of machine learning (ML) models in identifying early and intermediate stages of Parkinson's disease was assessed in this study. Six ML models are used in this study for the prediction of PD. Different metrics are used to evaluate ML models such as accuracy, precision, recall, f1-score, and AUC score. Then we propose a multi-criteria decision-making methodology (MCDM) to evaluate the ML models and select the best one. Two MCDM methods are used such as CRITIC method to compute the criteria weights and the TOPSIS method to rank the alternatives. These methods are used under the bipolar neutrosophic sets (BNSs) to deal with uncertainty information. The results show the support vector machine is the best ML model for the prediction of PD. © 2025, University of New Mexico. All rights reserved.

Recently, the attention mechanism has been introduced into object tracking, making significant improvements in tracking performance. However, the tracking target often undergoes deformation during tracking, which can easily lead to the loss of the target. In this paper, we design the motion perception unit (MPU) to enhance tracking stability. The MPU generates motion prompts rich in dynamic target appearance information and integrates them into object modeling. This integration allows our tracker to better adapt to changes in target motion and appearance, improving the adaptability to the target motion. Extensive experiments demonstrate that our tracker MPTrack outperforms all state-of-the-art trackers on five widely recognized benchmarks, including GOT-10k, TrackingNet, LaSOText, UAV123, and TNL2K, while running at real-time speed. The burgeoning complexity of communication necessitates a high demand for security. Access control encryption is a promising primitive to meet the security demand but the bulk of its constructions rely on formulating the access control policy with identities. Attribute-based access control policy in attribute-based encryption (ABE) is known to be more expressive without relying on enumerating identities. We propose a generic framework to build attribute-based access control encryption from ciphertext-policy ABE. Our instantiations prioritize different emphases on expressiveness and efficiency. The first instantiation supports multi-valued AND-gate access control structures, while the second supports the linear-secret-sharing access structure. Both are prototyped with efficiency validated empirically. © 2024 IEEE.

Unsupervised Low-Light Image Enhancement Based on Explicit Denoising and Knowledge Distillation

Under low-illumination conditions, the quality of image signals deteriorates significantly, typically characterized by a peak signal-to-noise ratio (PSNR) below 10 dB, which severely limits the usability of the images. Supervised methods, which utilize paired high-low light images as training sets, can enhance the PSNR to around 20 dB, significantly improving image quality. However, such data is challenging to obtain. In recent years, unsupervised low-light image enhancement (LIE) methods based on the Retinex framework have been proposed, but they generally lag behind supervised methods by 5–10 dB in performance. In this paper, we introduce the Denoising-Distilled Retine (DDR) method, an unsupervised approach that integrates denoising priors into a Retinex-based training framework. By explicitly incorporating denoising, the DDR method effectively addresses the challenges of noise and artifacts in low-light images, thereby enhancing the performance of the Retinex framework. The model achieved a PSNR of 19.82 dB on the LOL dataset, which is comparable to the performance of supervised methods. Furthermore, by applying knowledge distillation, the DDR method optimizes the model for real-time processing of low-light images, achieving a processing speed of 199.7 fps without incurring additional computational costs. While the DDR method has demonstrated superior performance in terms of image quality and processing speed, there is still room for improvement in terms of robustness across different color spaces and under highly resource-constrained conditions. Future research will focus on enhancing the model’s generalizability and adaptability to address these challenges. Our rigorous testing on public datasets further substantiates the DDR method’s state-of-the-art performance in both image quality and processing speed.
