The incorporation of Internet of Things (IoT) cloud computing solutions with smart grids signifies a significant advancement in energy management. Traditional methods, though beneficial, often lack scalability and real-time capabilities, limiting their effectiveness in managing the complexity of modern energy systems. In this paper, a novel approach cloud-based IoT technologies to address these shortcomings and enhance smart grid functionalities. Existing energy management methods heavily rely on localized monitoring and control systems, constraining scalability and real-time responsiveness. Additionally, these methods struggle to handle the immense data generated by IoT devices dispersed throughout the grid. The proposed approach tackles these challenges by utilizing cloud computing to store, process, and analyze IoT sensor data in real-time. The novelty of this method lies in seamlessly integrating cloud-based platforms with IoT devices across the smart grid. Through utilising cloud resources, the limitations of traditional approaches are overcome, enabling scalable, real-time oversight and management of grid assets. The methodology involves deploying IoT sensors across the grid to compile information about energy usage, generation, and distribution, which is then transmitted to cloud servers for analysis and decision-making. Through simulations and real-world experiments, the effectiveness of this approach in optimizing grid performance, improving reliability, and facilitating demand-response programs is demonstrated. The results exhibit significant enhancements in grid efficiency and resilience, showcasing the potential of cloud-based IoT solutions to transform energy management in smart grids. Overall, this proposed method presents a promising pathway towards establishing more efficient, sustainable, and resilient energy infrastructure for the future. © 2024 IEEE.

This research highlights the importance of standards and interoperability in the IoT. An essential component of IoT ecosystems is interoperability, which refers to the ability for various systems and devices to converse and share data. Formats for data, methods of communication, and safeguards are all outlined by standards. Widespread adoption and scalability are made possible through interoperability and standards, which allow devices from many manufacturers to communicate with one another. This research investigates the alliances, regulatory authorities, and commercial associations that cooperate in the creation and advancement of open standards that can be embraced by other entities. The main objective of the research is to showcase the construction of an Internet of Things device capable of communicating with various embedded peripheral protocols utilizing Plug and Play (PnP) technology. Moreover, the research examines the impact of regulatory frameworks on the IoT ecosystem and their role in fostering interoperability. An IoT ecosystem necessitates a standardized and open environment to provide optimal performance in terms of connectivity, data exchange, and innovation. This research contributes to the progress of harmonizing and achieving interoperability among World Wide Web Things.

In a wide variety of mechanical and industrial applications,e.g.,space cooling,nuclear reactor cooling,medicinal utilizations(magnetic drug targeting),energy generation,and heat conduction in tissues,the heat transfer phenomenon is ***’s law of heat conduction has been used as the foundation for predicting the heat transfer behavior in a variety of real-world *** model’s production of a parabolic energy expression,which means that an initial disturbance would immediately affect the system under investigation,is one of its main ***,numerous researchers worked on such problem to resolve this *** last,this problem was resolved by Cattaneo by adding relaxation time for heat flux in Fourier’s law,which was defined as the time required to establish steady heat conduction once a temperature gradient is *** offered a material invariant version of Cattaneo’s model by taking into account the upper-connected derivative of the Oldroyd ***,both models are combinedly known as the Cattaneo-Christov(CC)*** this attempt,the mixed convective MHD Falkner-Skan Sutterby nanofluid flow is addressed towards a wedge surface in the presence of the variable external magnetic *** CC model is incorporated instead of Fourier’s law for the examination of heat transfer features in the energy expression.A two-phase nanofluid model is utilized for the implementation of *** nonlinear system of equations is tackled through the bvp4c technique in the MATLAB software *** influence of pertinent flow parameters is discussed and displayed through different *** and important results are summarized in the conclusion ***,in both cases of wall-through flow(i.e.,suction and injection effects),the porosity parameters increase the flow speed,and decrease the heat transport and the influence of drag forces.

Robotics education plays a crucial role in developing STEM skills. However, university-level courses often emphasize theoretical learning, which can lead to decreased student engagement and motivation. In this paper, we tackle the challenge of providing hands-on robotics experience in higher education by adapting a mobile robot originally designed for competitions to be used in laboratory classes. Our approach integrates real-world robot operation into coursework, bridging the gap between simulation and physical implementation while maintaining accessibility. The robot's software is developed using ROS, and its effectiveness is assessed through student surveys. The results indicate that the platform increases student engagement and interest in robotics topics. Furthermore, feedback from teachers is also collected and confirmed that the platform boosts students' confidence and understanding of robotics. © 2025 IEEE.

MG6D: A Deep Fusion Approach for 6D Pose Estimation with Mamba and Graph Convolution Network

Accurate and efficient 6D pose estimation is a fundamental technology in many industrial applications. While existing dense correspondence methods have shown progress, they face challenges in multimodal feature fusion under complex scenarios involving occlusions, illumination variations, and sensor noise. This paper proposes a novel 6D pose estimation framework that addresses these limitations through a hybrid Mamba-Graph architecture. The algorithm first introduces a panoramic attention fusion Mamba module, leveraging state-space modeling to capture long-range dependencies in multi-modal data while establishing cross-dimensional interactions between channel and spatial features to emphasize critical information. A dynamic graph convolutional adaptive fusion module is then designed to enable cross-modal geometric consistency modeling via multi-modal feature integration. Finally, a texture-geometry co-driven keypoint selection mechanism is proposed to ensure keypoint distributions satisfy both spatial uniformity and discriminability requirements. Experimental results on three common datasets demonstrate that the proposed algorithm achieves ADD(-S) metrics of 99.82%, 80.26%, and 97.2%, respectively. Notably, it exhibits significant advantages in pose estimation for objects with repetitive textures and high symmetry. © 2013 IEEE.

Mining World Indicators for Analyzing and Modeling the Development of Countries

The world indicators released by the World Bank or other organizations usually give the basic public knowledge about the world. However, separate and static index lacks the complex interplay among different indicators and thus cannot help us have an overall understanding of the world. To this end, we study the world indicators from a different angle. Firstly, we discover that there exist correlations between indicators either from a static view or from a dynamic view. Moreover, taking the trade and diplomatic relationships into consideration, we construct a multi-relational network to depict the interactions between different countries, and propose a Multiple Relations to Vector (MR2vec) model to study world indicators from a network perspective. The experimental results show the changes of world indicators are predictable with the proposed model, and our proposed MR2vec has wide adaptability in predicting multi-relation networks. © 2022 Copyright held by the owner/author(s).

Deep neural networks (DNNs) have become an enabling component for a myriad of artificial intelligence applications. DNNs have shown sometimes superior performance, even compared to humans, in cases such as self-driving, health applications, etc. Because of their computational complexity, deploying DNNs in resource-constrained devices still faces many challenges related to computing complexity, energy efficiency, latency, and cost. To this end, several research directions are being pursued by both academia and industry to accelerate and efficiently implement DNNs. One important direction is determining the appropriate data representation for the massive amount of data involved in DNN processing. Using conventional number systems has been found to be sub-optimal for DNNs. Alternatively, a great body of research focuses on exploring suitable number systems. This article aims to provide a comprehensive survey and discussion about alternative number systems for more efficient representations of DNN data. Various number systems (conventional/unconventional) exploited for DNNs are discussed. The impact of these number systems on the performance and hardware design of DNNs is considered. In addition, this paper highlights the challenges associated with each number system and various solutions that are proposed for addressing them. The reader will be able to understand the importance of an efficient number system for DNN, learn about the widely used number systems for DNN, understand the trade-offs between various number systems, and consider various design aspects that affect the impact of number systems on DNN performance. In addition, the recent trends and related research opportunities will be highlighted. © 2023, CC BY.

Natural language processing (NLP) is a branch of artificial intelligence (AI) that enables computers to comprehend, generate, and manipulate human language. Natural language processing can interrogate the data with natural language text or voice. Abstractive Text Summarization is based on the Natural Language Processing technique that tries to provide new and more concise textual summaries for huge texts. Artificial intelligence and deep learning techniques are used in abstractive summarization to examine the text's essential information and create a new summary that conveys the content more concisely and accurately. This type of summary differs from normal extractive summarizing in that it can generate new summaries beyond simply extracting key lines from the source text. This study presents an abstractive Arabic summarization based on the Multilingual T5 (MT5) model AASMT5 to address these concerns. This technique is based on deep neural networks and models like transformers, which have changed the ability to summarize text. This research has explored the various types of summarizations and highlighted the significance of two prominent techniques: abstractive and extractive summarization. This research describes a complete process for developing an Arabic abstractive summarization model using the MT5 architecture. Experiments on different datasets show that this model achieves state-of-the-art results across MT5.

Rutting of asphalt pavements is a crucial design criterion in various pavement design guides. A good road transportation base can provide security for the transportation of oil and gas in road transportation. This study attempts to develop a robust artificial intelligence model to estimate different asphalt pavements’ rutting depth clips, temperature, and load axes as primary characteristics. The experiment data were obtained from19 asphalt pavements with different crude oil sources on a 2.038km long full-scale field accelerated pavement test track(Road Track Institute, RIOHTrack) in Tongzhou, Beijing. In addition,this paper also proposes to build complex networks with different pavement rutting depths through complex network methods and the Louvain algorithm for community detection. The most critical structural elements can be selected from different asphalt pavement rutting data, and similar structural elements can be found. An extreme learning machine algorithm with residual correction(RELM) is designed and optimized using an independent adaptive particle swarm algorithm. The experimental results of the proposed method are compared with several classical machine learning algorithms, with predictions of average root mean squared error(MSE), average mean absolute error(MAE), and a verage mean absolute percentage error(MAPE) for 19 asphalt pavements reaching 1.742, 1.363, and 1.94% respectively. The experiments demonstrate that the RELM algorithm has an advantage over classical machine learning methods in dealing with non-linear problems in road engineering. Notably, the method ensures the adaptation of the simulated environment to different levels of abstraction through the cognitive analysis of the production environment parameters. It is a promising alternative method that facilitates the rapid assessment of pavement conditions and could be applied in the future to production processes in the oil and gas industry.

This work proposed a vacancy-modulated analog resistive random-access memory (ReRAM) for neuromorphic computing, utilizing a structure composed of Ag/Zn@ZnO/ZnO/FTO. The resistive switching behavior can be modulated by the movement of oxygen vacancies under positive or negative voltages. This characteristic leads to the desired resistive switching behavior for neuromorphic computing. The Ag/Zn@ZnO/ZnO/FTO based analog ReRAM exhibits several desirable features, including a low operation current, forming-free operation, and self-compliance. The conductance change rate of the device can be adjusted efficiently by modifying the amplitudes and pulse intervals of spike pulses. The device can be used for short-time memory (STM) and long-term memory (LTM) memory operations with good retention time. These characteristics align with the requirements for next-generation ReRAM. The introduction of the Ag/Zn@ZnO/ZnO/FTO-based device structure paves the way for the future development of neuromorphic computing memory applications.
