As a new industry integrated by computing, communication, networking, electronics, and automation technology, the Internet of Vehicles (IoV) has been widely concerned and highly valued at home and abroad. With the rapid growth of the number of intelligent connected vehicles, the data security risks of the IoV have become increasingly prominent, and various attacks on data security emerge in an endless stream. This paper firstly introduces the latest progress on the data security policies, regulations, standards, technical routes in major countries and regions, and international standardization organizations. Secondly, the characteristics of the IoV data are comprehensively analyzed in terms of quantity, standard, timeliness, type, and cross-border transmission. Based on the characteristics, this paper elaborates the security risks such as privacy data disclosure, inadequate access control, lack of identity authentication, transmission design defects, cross-border flow security risks, excessive collection and abuse, source identification, and blame determination. And finally, we put forward the measures and suggestions for the security development of IoV data in China. © 2022 IEEE.

The increasing prevalence of deep hoaxes, such as fake news and phishing schemes, poses a significant threat to cybersecurity, undermining trust and spreading misinformation. In Indonesia, surveys indicate that more than 60% of people exposed to hoax news believe that it is true, emphasizing the urgent need for robust detection methods. Traditional cybersecurity approaches often struggle to keep pace with the growing scale and sophistication of these attacks. To address this challenge, this research investigates the use of deep learning techniques, specifically focusing on text-based hoax detection in the Indonesian language. The study fine-tunes IndoBERT, a pretrained deep learning model optimized for Indonesian text, to enhance the accuracy and scalability of hoax detection. The IndoBERT model was trained on a balanced dataset of 29,552 articles, comprising both hoax and real news content, collected from the Mafindo API and Kaggle's Indonesia News Dataset. The model was fine-tuned using supervised learning and evaluated using several key metrics, including accuracy, F1-score, precision, and recall. The results demonstrate that IndoBERT outperforms existing state-of-the-art approaches, achieving an accuracy of 98.51%, an F1-score of 98.44%, and a precision of 98.23% on the test set. These results highlight the effectiveness of IndoBERT for hoax detection, which offers a scalable solution to improve cybersecurity defenses against deceptive content. This research contributes to the integration of advanced deep learning models into cybersecurity systems, addressing the evolving landscape of cyber threats. © 2025 IEEE.

Knowledge hypergraphs generalize knowledge graphs using hyperedges to connect multiple entities and depict complicated relations. Existing methods either transform hyperedges into an easier-to-handle set of binary relations or view hyperedges as isolated and ignore their adjacencies. Both approaches have information loss and may potentially lead to the creation of sub-optimal models. To fix these issues, we propose the Hyperbolic Hypergraph Neural Network (H2GNN), whose essential component is the hyper-star message passing, a novel scheme motivated by a lossless expansion of hyperedges into hierarchies. It implements a direct embedding that consciously incorporates adjacent entities, hyper-relations, and entity position-aware information. As the name suggests, H2GNN operates in the hyperbolic space, which is more adept at capturing the tree-like hierarchy. We compare H2GNN with 15 baselines on knowledge hypergraphs, and it outperforms state-of-the-art approaches in both node classification and link prediction tasks. Copyright © 2024, The Authors. The symbiotic interaction between people and computers in the realm of software development is experiencing a fundamental transition, spurred by improvements in Natural Language Processing (NLP). This study investigates how natural language processing (NLP) is changing the software development process by facilitating better human-machine collaboration throughout the coding phase. Data collection, NLP model creation, and assessment are all part of the rigorous process used in our work, which yields important results. The possibility for improving code quality and efficiency while also democratizing code production is discussed in the context of a fictional situation. Ethical concerns are also highlighted, along with the need to minimize bias in NLP-driven code production. To the benefit of developers, organizations, and society at large, this study not only adds empirical insights but also imagines a future in which software development is more inclusive, efficient, and morally responsible. From improved natural language processing models to real-time feedback loops and multimodal techniques, the future of this transforming discipline promises to further influence the landscape of software development.

The lack of standardization across publicly available network intrusion detection datasets presents a significant challenge in developing generalizable machine learning-based models. These existing datasets often exhibit inconsistencies in feature sets and typically focus only on flow-level data, overlooking critical elements such as payload information and time-window-based contextual features. Such limitations make it difficult to detect sophisticated, time-sensitive attacks that rely heavily on both payload analysis and temporal patterns in network behavior. To address these challenges, we propose a unified multimodal dataset that integrates flow, payload, and contextual features from several renowned datasets. Our methodology implements a three-stage pipeline that processes raw packet capture (PCAP) files, extracts detailed metadata, and synchronizes the flow and payload data with time-based contextual features to ensure a comprehensive and enriched dataset. This approach allows for extensive cross-dataset validation, enabling the development of more robust and adaptable machine learning models for network intrusion detection. By providing a unified feature space and incorporating payload and contextual data, the dataset enhances the ability to detect a wider range of network threats with greater precision. Recent breakthroughs in computer vision have led to the invention of several intelligent systems in different sectors. In transportation, this advancement led to the possibility of proposing autonomous vehicles. This recent technology relies heavily on wireless sensors and Deep learning. For an autonomous vehicle to navigate safely on highways, the vehicle needs equipment to aid with detecting road anomalies such as potholes ahead of time. The massive improvement in computer vision models such as Deep Convolutional Neural networks (DCNN) or vision transformers (ViT) resulted in many success stories and tremendous breakthroughs in object detection tasks;this enabled the use of such models in different application areas. But many of the reported results are theoretical and unrealistic in real-life. Usually, the nature of these models is extensive;they are trained on High-performance computers or cloud computing environments with GPUs, which challenge their usage on edge devices. However, to come up with a light model that can fit into embedded devices, the model size has to be reduced significantly so that the performance will not be affected. Therefore, this paper proposes a lightweight model of pothole detection for an embedded device. The model achieved a state-of-the-art accuracy of 98%, with the number of parameters reduced to more than 70% compared with a deep CNN model;the model can be trained and deployed on embedded devices such as smartphones efficiently. © 2022 The authors and IOS Press. Targeted Pareto Optimization for Subset Selection With Monotone Objective Function and Cardinality Constraint

Subset selection, a fundamental problem in various domains, is to choose a subset of elements from a large candidate set under a given objective or multiple objectives. Pareto optimization for subset selection (POSS) has emerged as a powerful paradigm for addressing subset selection problems. Recently, some POSS variants have been proposed to further improve its performance. In this paper, we propose a new POSS variant, named Targeted Pareto Optimization for Subset Selection (TPOSS). TPOSS differs from POSS in four aspects: problem formulation, population initialization, mutation, and environmental selection. The main idea of TPOSS is to focus the search on the target region of subset selection with respect to the subset cardinality in order to improve the search efficiency. We conduct comprehensive experiments to compare TPOSS with six state-of-the-art algorithms on three subset selection tasks (i.e., sparse regression, unsupervised feature selection, and hypervolume subset selection) where the size of the candidate sets ranges from 20 to 400. Experimental results show that with respect to the objective value of the best feasible subset, TPOSS outperforms the other algorithms on all the three tasks, which suggests the potential of TPOSS to enhance subset selection in various domains. Cross-silo federated learning (FL) enables multiple institutions (clients) to collaboratively build a global model without sharing private data. To prevent privacy leakage during aggregation, homomorphic encryption (HE) is widely used to encrypt model updates, yet incurs high computation and communication overheads. To reduce these overheads, packed HE (PHE) has been proposed to encrypt multiple plaintexts into a single ciphertext. However, the original design of PHE assumes all clients share a single private key, making the system vulnerable to security threats of ciphertexts being intercepted and decrypted by honest-but-curious clients. Also, it does not consider the heterogeneity among different clients, resulting in undermined training efficiency with slow convergence and stragglers. To address these challenges, we propose FedPHE, a secure and efficient FL framework with PHE by jointly exploiting contribution-aware secure aggregation and straggler-resistant client selection. Using CKKS with sparsification and blinding, FedPHE achieves efficient secure aggregation that allows clients to only provide obscured encrypted updates while the server can perform aggregation by accounting for contributions of local updates. To mitigate the straggler effect, we devise a perturbed sketch-based selection to cherry-pick representative clients with heterogeneous models and computing capabilities in a communication-efficient and privacy-preserving manner. We show, through rigorous security analysis and extensive experiments, that FedPHE can efficiently safeguard clients' privacy, achieve 2.45-6.56× training speedup, cut the communication overhead by 1.32-24.85×, and reduce straggler effects by 1.89-2.78×. © 2004-2012 IEEE.

Static image is an important form of displaying a sketch, representing the appearance information of the sketch. And a stroke sequence composed of several points can also express the shape and contour information of the sketch. Therefore, it is very reasonable to treat a sketch as point-modal data and image-modal data simultaneously. In this paper, a method based on bi-modal model using cooperative learning paradigm is proposed for the sketch recognition task. Specifically, in the point-modal branch, a structural point convolution block is developed by properly dividing local regions to preserve the structural information. In the image-modal branch, the hierarchical residual structure is used to fully extract image-modal features. To reduce the negative impact of noisy samples on the recognition performance, a cooperative learning paradigm is designed based on different perceptual abilities of two modal branches on noisy samples, that is, when training the two branches, the noisy samples can be filtered out through information exchanges and mutual learning. Extensive experiments on the sketch datasets TU-Berlin and QuickDraw show that the proposed method outperforms most baseline methods and has many advantages such as no dependence on additional data and stroke information. © The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer-Verlag London Ltd., part of Springer Nature 2024.
