In this paper, we propose a novel Bridge Weight-In-Motion (B-WIM) detection method based on the bridge deck vibration signal analysis with the image mapping algorithm. The algorithm maps the vibration signals into 8-Bit grayscale images and then uses image sharpness to detect B-WIM in single-vehicle tests. The result shows that the proposed method can effectively estimate B-WIM.

Using a suitable gimbal sensor, a lightweight multispectral sensor weight less than 500 g, such as visible imagery in the 400-700 nm (4000x3000 pixels), NIR imagery in the 520-920 nm region (2048 x 1536 pixels) and thermal 8-14µm (160x120 pixels) were placed on low-cost Hexacopter UAVs to perform aerial acquisitions of oil palm plant at very low altitude. Reliability data analysis is generated from the correction of undesirable and defect of sensor characteristics. Here, the sensor correction and calibration such as geometric, radiometric, vignetting, resolution and directional effects. Radiometric calibration using an upwelling water methodology where with thermosensor, the coefficient of determination, R2 = 1 and without thermosensor, R2 = 0.9455. For multi-temporal or multi-sensor image analysis, relative DN-to-radiance radiometric calibration was performed by using the white material as calibration, then convert the other colored area without the material based on the ratio of the white panel area and the color reflected in that area and compatible with in-situ spectroscopy device.

Super-junction（SJ） devices have the advantages of low Drain-Source on-state Resistance(R) and high switching *** it is a Si-based device,it breaks through the classical law of Si power *** kind of non-classical MOSFET structure even realizes high performance comparable to Ⅲ-Ⅴ ***,Electromagnetic Interference（EMI）problem becomes an issue when the SJ devices switch too fast,especially for the deep-trench *** this work,we studied the reason of inferior EMI performance of deep-trench *** is found that there is an abrupt change in gate-drain capacitance(C)when the p/n pillars close to full *** on this observation,an optimized deep-trench SJ-MOSFET is designed and fabricated in order to improve its abrupt change in *** abrupt change in gate-drain capacitance with the increasing drain voltage is smoothed in the capacitance *** a result,a larger EMI margin is obtained in the application circuit using the proposed deep-trench SJ-MOSFET devices.

This paper is concerned with the robust H ∞ fault detection problem for a class of uncertain discrete-time nonlinear 2-D systems subject to Round-Robin scheduling protocol. The Takagi-Sugeno fuzzy model is used to approximate the nonlinearities, where the linear fractional uncertainties enter the system in a random way. A kind of widely used communication mechanism, namely, Round-Robin communication protocol, is adopted to periodically schedule the sensors and the fault detectors to realize the information exchange in order to reduce the bandwidth usage in a networked environment with limit resource. An improved 2-D fuzzy residual generator is constructed to detect the possible fault, where the stability analysis of the resulting augmented 2-D system is discussed. It is accomplished by using a combination of the basis-dependent Lyapunov-like function and the stochastic analysis techniques. Sufficient conditions are first established to guarantee the globally asymptotic stability of the error dynamics of the state estimation with prescribed H ∞ performance constraints. Then, a residual generator is proposed to detect the possible faults. The effectiveness of the developed algorithm is demonstrated via application to the fault detection problem for a thermal process.

Processing of audio-tactile multisensory stimuli presented within the space immediately surrounding our body, i.e., peripersonal space (PPS), is known to be facilitated and the boundaries of the PPS extended by body action such as walking. However, it is unclear whether the boundaries change when a sensation of walking is induced with no physical body motion. Here, we presented several vibration patterns on the soles of the feet of seated participants to evoke a sensation of walking and examined the change in reaction times to detect a vibrotactile stimulus on the chest while listening to a looming sound approaching the body, which was taken as a behavioral proxy for the PPS boundary. Results revealed that a cyclic vibration consisting of lowpass-filtered walking sounds presented at the soles that clearly evoked a sensation of walking decreased the reaction times, indicating that the PPS boundary was expanded forward by inducing a sensation of walking. © 2017 IEEE.

In this work, we report the set-up and results of the Liver Tumor Segmentation Benchmark (LiTS), which was organized in conjunction with the IEEE International Symposium on Biomedical Imaging (ISBI) 2017 and the International Conferences on Medical Image Computing and computer-Assisted Intervention (MICCAI) 2017 and 2018. The image dataset is diverse and contains primary and secondary tumors with varied sizes and appearances with various lesion-to-background levels (hyper-/hypo-dense), created in collaboration with seven hospitals and research institutions. Seventy-five submitted liver and liver tumor segmentation algorithms were trained on a set of 131 computed tomography (CT) volumes and were tested on 70 unseen test images acquired from different patients. We found that not a single algorithm performed best for both liver and liver tumors in the three events. The best liver segmentation algorithm achieved a Dice score of 0.963, whereas, for tumor segmentation, the best algorithms achieved Dices scores of 0.674 (ISBI 2017), 0.702 (MICCAI 2017), and 0.739 (MICCAI 2018). Retrospectively, we performed additional analysis on liver tumor detection and revealed that not all top-performing segmentation algorithms worked well for tumor detection. The best liver tumor detection method achieved a lesion-wise recall of 0.458 (ISBI 2017), 0.515 (MICCAI 2017), and 0.554 (MICCAI 2018), indicating the need for further research. Establishing a secret and reliable wireless communication is a challenging task that is of paramount importance. In this paper, we investigate the physical layer security of a legitimate transmission link between a user that assists an Intrusion Detection system (IDS) in detecting eavesdropping and jamming attacks in the presence of an adversary that is capable of conducting an eavesdropping or a jamming attack. The user is being faced by a challenge of whether to transmit, thus becoming vulnerable to an eavesdropping or a jamming attack, or to keep silent and consequently his/her transmission will be delayed. The adversary is also facing a challenge of whether to conduct an eavesdropping or a jamming attack that will not get him/her to be detected. We model the interactions between the user and the adversary as a two-state stochastic game. Explicit solutions characterize some properties while highlighting some interesting strategies that are being embraced by the user and the adversary. Results show that our proposed system outperform current systems in terms of communication secrecy.

We experimentally demonstrate a femtosecond pulse fiber laser operating at 1.91 μm, which incorporates a MoSe 2 /PVA-based saturable absorber (SA). The SA was implemented by depositing a MoSe 2 /PVA composite film onto a side-polished fiber platform. Using the evanescent field interaction of the oscillating beam with the MoSe 2 /PVA, stable femtosecond pulses could be readily obtained from a Tm-Ho-codoped fiber ring cavity.

Human fatalities are reported due to the excessive proportional presence of hazardous gas components in manhole, such as Hydrogen Sulfide, Ammonia, Methane, Carbon Dioxide, Nitrogen Oxide, Carbon Monoxide, etc. Hence, predetermination of these gases is imperative. A neural network (NN) based intelligent sensory system is proposed for the avoidance of such fatalities. Backpropagation (BP) was applied for the supervised training of the neural network. A Gas sensor array consists of many sensor elements was employed for the sensing manhole gases. Sensors in the sensor array are responsible for sensing their target gas components only. Therefore, the presence of multiple gases results in cross sensitivity. The cross sensitivity is a crucial issue to this problem and it is viewed as pattern recognition and noise reduction problem. Various performance parameters and complexity of the problem influences NN training. In present chapter the performance of BP algorithm on such a real life application problem was comprehensively studied, compared and contrasted with the several other hybrid intelligent approaches both, in theoretical and in statistical sense.
