The test activities performed during the life cycle of the telecommunication service development ensure the service quality and stability so necessary to achieve the maximum availability and reliability. The paper presents authors' contribution to remote and distributed testing for mobile communications services based on cloud computing assets and paradigms. The access solutions to the test methods were implemented for the GSM and GSM-R (Global system for Mobile - Railways) related Intelligent Networks services. The scalability and flexibility of the architecture allows to the proposed solution to be used, for both the production and the educational environments, to access the resources located on the different sites for the tests purpose. The concept of the remote test solution and the practical examples based on the remote tests with real equipments are presented in this paper. © 2011 IEEE.

Device representations, via multitape AFA (abstract families of acceptors), are given for the families of languages which result from applying the wedge (A) m)d the substitution operations to AFL (abstract families of languages). In particular, if ~ and ~2 are multitape AFA (i.e. certain families of multistorage tape acceptors), then 5)~ A ~2 is defined as the family of multitape acceptors which results when the tapes of ~ and ~2 are coalesced, with the ~-tapes preceding those in ~2. It is shown that the smallest full AFL containing 2(~) A 2 (~D2) = {L~ N L2 ILi in2 (~Di) } is, 12 (~ h~:). For each multitape AFAr, aset ~.v of “nested” multitape acceptors is defined. It is shown that if ~ and ~2 are single-tape AFA, then the family of languages obtained from (~ A ~2) N is the family of langnages obtained by substituting the AFL defined by ~2 into the AFL defined by ~D~. © 1972, ACM. Many individuals now trade online utilizing trading software in the digital world. Binomo is one of Indonesia's most popular trading platforms. This is because some influencers made several promises to Binomo customers. Since many customers were deceived, this case became quite popular. This study was executed to see how Indonesians felt about the Binomo application after the case went viral. The solution taken was in the form of sentiment analysis because there had been no previous research on sentiment analysis that discussed the Binomo case. The data was scanned using Netlytic tools, a cloud-based text and social network analyzer capable of identifying any talks on social media sites such as Twitter. The sentiment analysis of Binomo trading tweets by using the Multi-Perspective Question Answering lexicon utilized the KNIME tool. But unfortunately, the accuracy of sentiment analysis results is low. Furthermore, the Support Vector Machine technique is also being conducted. The Term Frequency-Inverse Document Frequency method is applied to perform feature extraction whilst the chi-square approach is utilized to identify features that are thought to be useful for inclusion in the classification process and to exclude features that are irrelevant to the target class. The obtained accuracy is 86%. The study proposes that words from the algorithm's outputs can be utilized to improve the quality of sentiment analysis using the lexicon. As an outcome of the algorithm, positive and negative terms are added to the lexicon, increasing the accuracy of sentiment analysis using the new vocabulary from 58.984% to 71.146%. © 2023 IEEE.

Distributed storage of data files in different nodes of a network enhances its fault tolerance capability by offering protection against node and link failures. Reliability is often achieved through redundancy in one of the following two ways: (i) storage of multiple copies of the entire file at different locations (nodes) or (ii) storage of file segments (not entire files) at different node locations. In the (N, K) file distribution scheme, N file segments from a file F are created in such a way that it is possible to reconstruct the entire file, just by accessing any K ≤ N segments. For the reconstruction scheme to work, it is essential that the K segments of the file are stored in nodes that are connected in the network. However, in the event of node/link failures, the network might become disconnected (i.e., split into several connected components). We focus on node failures that are spatially correlated or region based. Such failures are often encountered in disaster situations or natural calamities where only the nodes in the disaster zone are affected. The first goal of this research is to design a least cost file storage scheme to ensure that no matter which region is destroyed;resulting in fragmentation of the network, a largest connected component of the residual network will have enough file segments with which to reconstruct the entire file. In case the least cost to ensure this objective is within the allocated budget, the storage design will be all region fault-tolerant (ARFT). In case the least cost exceeds the allocated budget, design of an ARFT file storage system design is impossible. The second goal of this research is to design file storage schemes that will be maximum region fault-tolerant within the allocated budget. The third goal of this research is to investigate the impact of the coding parameters N and K on storage requirements for ensuring all region or \textit{maximum region} fault-tolerant design. The critical infrastructures of a nation including the power grid and the communication network are highly interdependent. Recognizing the need for a deeper understanding of the interdependency in a multi-layered network, significant efforts have been made by the research community in the last few years to achieve this goal. Accordingly a number of models have been proposed and analyzed. Unfortunately, most of the models are over simplified and, as such, they fail to capture the complex interdependency that exists between entities of the power grid and the communication networks involving a combination of conjunctive and disjunctive relations. To overcome the limitations of existing models, we propose a new model that is able to capture such complex interdependency relations. Utilizing this model, we provide techniques to identify the K most 'vulnerable' nodes of an interdependent network. We show that the problem can be solved in polynomial time in some special cases, whereas for some others, the problem is NP-complete. We establish that this problem is equivalent to computation of a fixed point of a multilayered network system and we provide a technique for its computation utilizing Integer Linear programming. Finally, we evaluate the efficacy of our technique using real data collected from the power grid and the communication network that span the Maricopa County of Arizona. © 2014 IEEE.

Robustness or fault-tolerance capability of a network is an important design parameter in both wired and wireless networks. Connectivity of a network is traditionally considered to be the primary metric for evaluation of its fault-tolerance capability. However, connectivity (G) (for random faults) or region-based connectivity R(G) (for spatially correlated or region-based faults, where the faults are confined to a region R) of a network G, does not provide any information about the network state, (i.e., whether the network is connected or not) once the number of faults exceeds (G) or R(G). If the number of faults exceeds (G) or R(G), one would like to know, (i) the number of connected components into which G decomposes, (ii) the size of the largest connected component, (iii) the size of the smallest connected component. In this paper, we introduce a set of new metrics that computes these values. We focus on one particular metric called region-based component decomposition number (RBCDN), that measures the number of connected components in which the network decomposes once all the nodes of a region fail. We study the computational complexity of finding RBCDN of a network. In addition, we study the problem of least cost design of a network with a target value of RBCDN. We show that the optimal design problem is NP-complete and present an approximation algorithm with a performance bound of O(log K + 4log n), where n denotes the number of nodes in the graph and K denotes a target value of RBCDN. We evaluate the performance of our algorithm by comparing it with the performance of the optimal solution. Experimental results demonstrate that our algorithm produces near optimal solution in a fraction of time needed to find an optimal solution. © 2011 IEEE.

Developing safe and reliable software is not a luxury but a necessity given our staggering level of dependency on it. Indeed, we have handed over our ability to function day to day to an electronic array or zeros and ones and we expect, demand and rely on these invisible bits to work without error or fault. However, the process of building such reliable software is far from simple. This paper will examine the practical aspects of the problem as well as solutions that are either used or in the process of being evaluated and/or adopted by an NYC based financial institution to produce safe and reliable software.

IT/OT convergence in the form of a Cyber-Physical system (CPS) presents an opportunity to apply recent Information Technology (IT) advancements to Operational Technology (OT). The IT/OT convergence introduces cyber security threats for OT. The OT communication protocols, for example, have limited or no security capabilities for securing data exchange beyond basic authentication. The RNG (Random Number Generator) function is crucial in PLC for producing the encryption keys or the initial seed for security algorithms. The software-based PRNG (Pseudo RNG) is the most common approach for RNG in OT, instead of hardware-based RNG. This study provides a systematic literature review of the most recent evidence in digital transformation to secure data exchange in smart factories, within OT, or across OT and IT settings. It does this by looking at the PRNG on PLC and identifying the most recent trends and best practices. The findings include up-to-date data on author countries' distribution, published journals, research trends, industries, and industry types. The findings also address whether data flow is encrypted or shared in plaintext to ensure secure data transfer between IT and legacy OT environments. This paper concludes that while there is known RNG implementation in the actual embedded system in ICS, there is no evidence in the literature for using RNG in ICS networks for PLC implementation to secure data transfer with encryption. © 2024 IEEE.

The lungs are one of the organs of the body that are responsible for the human respiratory process and are very susceptible to dangerous diseases. For this reason, early detection and diagnosis of lung organs is needed, one of which is through examination of Chest X-Ray (CXR) images. Examination of the results of CXR images is still done manually by doctors and radiologists, this requires time and high accuracy. To facilitate the examination, it is necessary to image quality enhancement in order to get better image quality results so as to produce an accurate diagnosis. The initial stage in this research is to apply the contour improvement technique to the image using Morphology Opening, and followed by noise reduction using Median Filter and Gaussian filter. The results of the two methods of noise reduction are compared with the results of image quality in order to find out the best method that can be applied. The implementation of image quality enhancement results was measured quantitatively using Peak Signal-to-Noise Ratio (PSNR), Mean Square Error (MSE), and Structural Similarity Index Metrics (SSIM). In the Morphology Opening and Median Filter methods, the values obtained are 39.187, 22.252, and 0.952, respectively. Meanwhile, the Morphology Opening and Gaussian Filter methods obtained values of 38.717, 23.917 and 0.956. Based on these results, it can be concluded that both methods are able to improve image quality well. © 2022 IEEE.
