The purpose of this research is to present an improved project method and the results obtained in its use for the application work of the electrical machines course of an electronic engineering program of the Pedro Ruiz Gallo National University of Lambayeque in Peru. Previously, from 2013 to 2018, the project method was used, and based on these experiences, a proj ect method was prepared with greater detail of the activities and deliverables in each phase of the method, the results are better information, planning and organization by part of the students and a better evaluation by the facilitator, who acts as a referee and not as a coach as in traditional vocational training. The improved project method that has been applied in the 2019–11 semester and completed the validation in the 2023 semesters, due to the COVID 19 quarantine in the years 2020 to 2022, no real application work was carried out. In order to train professionals with new skills, vocational training must be innovated with new teaching-learning modes, such as the project method. The projects carried out in 2019–11 gave 4 very good projects: Automotive alternator as direct current generator, DC generator based on a DC motor, Construction of a windshield wiper system, Construction of a single-phase induction motor; 2 good projects and 5 regular projects.

This work addresses the development of a hybrid CPU-GPU local search heuristic for the unrelated parallel machine scheduling problem. In this scheduling problem setup times are sequence-dependent and also machine-dependent. The objective is to minimize the maximum completion time of the schedule, known as make span. Since the problem belongs to the NP-hard class there is no known polynomial time algorithm to solve it, so metaheuristics and local search heuristics are usually developed to find good near optimal solutions. In general, the local search is the most expensive part of the heuristic method, so our algorithm harnesses the tremendous computing power of the GPU to decrease the local search computational time. We use the local search based on swapping jobs in different machines, since it is able find good near optimal solutions as we report from previous results in literature. We show that the hybrid CPU-GPU local search achieves average speedups from 10 to 27 times in relation to the pure CPU local search.

In an attempt to assist proctors to prevent test takers from academic dishonesty in remotely administrated exams, this study investigated the ability of test takers' behaviors during online assessments to predict their cheating decisions. Specifically, this experimental study focused on the role of students' time delay and certainty rating during lab based online testing sessions. The analysis of hierarchical logistic regression indicated that not only time delay but also certainty rating had significantly statistical relation to test takers' cheating decisions. The importance of the two proposed factors during online assessments was discussed and the prospects of the improvements of online proctoring systems were addressed. © Cognitive Science Society, CogSci *** rights reserved.

In this work, we propose a new algorithm to solve a variant of the Vehicle Routing Problem that is the Single Vehicle Routing Problem with Deliveries and Selective Pickups (SVRPDSP). Our algorithm produces good quality solutions that are better than the best known solutions in the literature. In order to reduce the time spent to solve large-sized instances, we also propose here a parallel implementation of our algorithm that explores a heterogeneous environment composed of a CPU and a GPU. Therefore, our algorithm harnesses the tremendous computing power of the GPU to improve the performance of the local searches computation. We obtained average speedups from 2.73 to 16.23 times with our parallel approach.

Superior and quality human resources are based on healthy human resources with indicators of adequate nutritional intake according to age development. However, the world still faces the problem of hunger and malnutrition today. According to a UNICEF report, the number of people suffering from malnutrition in the world will reach 767.9 million people in 2021. The World Health Organization (WHO) said that malnutrition is a dangerous threat to the health of the world's population. Stunting also has an impact in Indonesia, the prevalence of toddlers experiencing stunting in Indonesia is 24.4% in 2021. The solution created is to classify and cluster the prevalence of stunting to produce a pattern that can be used as best practice to be transmitted to other affected areas. The algorithm used is Euclid. The Euclid algorithm can cluster stunting prevalence data into 4 clusters with the very little category at 79%, the little category at 67%, the many categories at 51%, and the very much category at 21%. The results of the classification and clustering of the best stunting prevalence in cluster one with a very small number, can be used as a source of accurate and updated information that can be used by the government in its efforts to optimize stunting handling in each district/city based on artificial intelligence which can provide handling and optimization patterns. stunting in every district/city.

Immersive learning has gained significant attention with the rising trend of spatial computing, particularly in the after-pandemic era. Numerous research has explored the potential of immersive learning in higher education, primarily on the educational sector. However, prior research has frequently focused too narrowly on the effects of technology and neglected to address the crucial element influencing successful immersive learning in higher education. This study seeks to pinpoint the crucial element contributing to the development of immersive learning experiences. The methodology uses a systematic literature review (SLR) from 2018 up to 2023 to investigate the critical factors of immersive Learning in Higher Education. From the 728 papers initially retrieved, 274 were considered potential candidates, and ultimately, 86 articles were selected based on their relevance to the research question. The results reveal that the critical factors include learning design, technology, immersion, engagement, interactivity, and usability. Academic interests will benefit from this SLR's consequences as institutions create models for designing suitable immersive learning, especially within the context of higher education.

In this paper, for the first time, deep learning (DL) based artificial neural network (ANN) is applied to model the effects of various random variations: work function fluctuation, random dopant fluctuation, and interface trap fluctuation, on gate-all-around silicon nanosheet MOSFETs. The number of fluctuations for each source variation is used as input features and their effects on devices of interest are studied qualitatively and quantitatively. The key figures of merit (FoM) are also extracted accurately from the transfer characteristics, which shows the competency of the ANN model in the domain of device modeling. © 2022 IEEE.

In this work, our study comprises of design and investigation on negative capacitance (NC), metal-oxide-semiconductor (MOS) field effects transistors (MOSFETs) with spacer and source/drain (S/D) overlap engineering. The scope of the work is to boost the performance and high-energy efficiency of the studied NC-MOSFETs by using the ferro electric material (FE). The NC-MOSFETs with the spacer technology can achieve the admirable I on /I off ratio and subthreshold swing (SS), compared with planar MOSFETs. It makes device scaling possible by eliminating the short channel effect (SCE). We further estimated the effect of FE thickness and spacer, which are another critical parameter of obtaining better electrical characteristics and reducing SS.

While several content management systems (CMS) and audience analytics tools are available for digital signage in the market, they are often sold separately and can be expensive. Therefore, this project aims to design a cost-effective and unified web-based solution for digital signage that combines content management and audience analytics functions, reducing the need for multiple purchases. This can be achieved by utilizing Raspberry Pi technology, known for its cost-effectiveness and versatility in integrations, along with a face recognition camera and machine learning methods. This proof of concept demonstrates the integration of these components to create a dynamic digital signage system. Overall, this project has the potential to offer an affordable solution for companies aiming to efficiently manage and optimize their digital marketing strategies, especially in the Digital Out-of-Home (DOOH) Advertising space. © 2023 IEEE.
