Virtual concerts have become an emerging form of music performance, and it casts a perspective on the development and exploration of real-time interactive virtual spaces as well as the creation of digital twins. This paper introduces a customizable interactive immersive concert hall system, which can meet the diverse needs of different roles such as audiences, musicians, conductors and audio engineers. It supports switching between different concert hall scenes, changing the placement of orchestra, adjusting instrument volume, and listening to selected instrument ensembles while performing in the concert hall. The system also supports real-time switching between different music pickup types and microphone frequency responses. The system simulates the architectural acoustic environment of outstanding concert halls around the world, and is enabled with real-time auralization. © ICA *** rights reserved

Set-based Scheduling for Highway Entry of Autonomous Vehicles ⁎

This paper proposes a framework for generation of collision-free reference trajectories in a cooperative multi-agent setting. The approach is hierarchical: a high-level controller schedules groups of cooperating agents, for which trajectories are then determined by a lower-level trajectory planner. Admissible behaviors of a cooperative group are encoded by so-called maneuvers, which are modeled by hybrid automata. This allows to plan trajectories by solving hybrid optimal control problems. controllable sets characterize the solution sets of these problems and are used for quick assessment of feasibility prior to planning. This enables the high-level controller to quickly assess the feasibility of different maneuver options and cooperative groups. Special emphasis is put on safety and feasibility of the framework. The efficacy of the approach is demonstrated by simulation of a highway entry scenario for autonomous vehicles.

Integral Inequalities for the Analysis of Distributed Parameter systems: A Complete Characterization via the Least-Squares Principle

A wide variety of integral inequalities (IIs) have been developed and studied for the stability analysis of distributed parameter systems using the Lyapunov functional approach. However, no unified mathematical framework has been proposed that could characterize the similarity and connection between these IIs, as most of them was introduced in a dispersed manner for the analysis of specific types of systems. Additionally, the extent to which the generality of these IIs can be expanded and the optimality of their lower bounds (LBs) remains open questions. In this study, we introduce two general classes of IIs that can generalize nearly all IIs in the literature. The integral kernels of the LBs of our IIs can contain an unlimited number of weighted L2 functions that are linearly independent in a Lebesgue sense. Moreover, we not only estalish the equivalence relations between the LBs of our IIs, but also demonstrate that these LBs are guaranteed by the least squares principle, implying asymptotic convergence to the upper bound when the kernels functions constitutes a Schauder basis of the underlying Hilbert space. Owing to their general structures, our IIs are applicable in a variety of contexts, such as the stability analysis of coupled PDE-ODE systems or cybernetic systems with delay structures. This article discusses how techniques from reinforcement learning (RL) can be exploited to transition to a model-free and scalable wide-area oscillation damping control of power grids. We present two control architectures with distinct features. Performing full-dimensional RL control designs for any practical grid would require an unacceptably long learning time and result in a dense communication architecture. Our designs avoid the curse of dimensionality by employing ideas from model reduction. The first design exploits time-scale separation in the generator electro-mechanical dynamics arising from coherent clustering, and learns a controller using both electro-mechanical and non-electro-mechanical states while compensating for the error in incorporating the latter through the RL loop. The second design presents an output-feedback approach enabled by a neuro-adaptive observer using measurements of only the generator frequencies. The controller exhibits an adaptive behavior that updates the control gains whenever there is a notable change in the loads. Theoretical guarantees for closed-loop stability and performance are provided for both designs. Numerical simulations are shown for the IEEE 68-bus power system model.

We model a platooning system including trucks and a third-party service provider that performs platoon coordination, distributes the platooning profit within platoons, and charges the trucks in exchange for its services. This paper studies one class of pricing rules, where the third-party service provider keeps part of the platooning profit each time a platoon is formed. Furthermore, we propose a platoon coordination solution based on distributed model predictive control in which the pricing rule is integrated. To evaluate the effect of the pricing on the platooning system, we perform a simulation over the Swedish road network. The simulation shows that the platooning rate and profit highly depend on the pricing. This suggests that pricing needs to be set carefully to obtain a satisfactory platooning system in the future.

Data protection and provenance in cloud of things environment: Research challenges

Internet of things are increasingly being deployed over the cloud (also referred to as cloud of things) to provide a broader range of services. However, there are serious challenges of CoT in the data protection and security provenance. This paper proposes a data privacy protection and provenance model (DPSPM) based on CoT. It can protect the privacy data of the users and trace the source of leaked data. In detail, security encryption and watermarking algorithms are proposed. Meanwhile, we use the improved k-anonymity data masking algorithm and pseudo-row watermarking algorithm in this scheme. Those algorithms can carry out security control over the whole process of data publishing, especially in data encryption, data masking and provenance verification. Finally, the experimental results show that our scheme has good efficiency. It is proved that the data masking time is proportional to the parameters k and L, the results also show good robustness to the common database watermarking attacks. © 2020 Inderscience Enterprises Ltd.

This paper summarizes the technical activities of a three-year-long IEEE Task Force (TF) on State Estimation (SE) for Integrated Energy systems (IES). It presents the formal definition and characteristics of IES, along with the comprehensive discussion on Electric Power systems (EPS) model, and static and dynamic models associated with heating and natural gas systems. The paper also identifies the barriers of SE for IES, such as estimation modeling, observability analysis, and measurement requirements, together with addressing multi-scale dynamics. An extensive comparative analysis between Integrated Energy systems-State Estimation (IES-SE) and more established Electric Power system-State Estimation (EPS-SE) is presented. The paper also provides future research needs and directions related to IES-SE. © 1969-2012 IEEE.

This paper proposes a Risk-Averse Just-In-Time (RAJIT) operation scheme for Ammonia-Hydrogen-based Micro-Grids (AHMGs) to boost electricity-hydrogen-ammonia coupling under uncertainties. First, an off-grid AHMG model is developed, featuring a novel multi-mode ammonia synthesis process and a hydrogen-ammonia dual gas turbine with tunable feed-in ratios. Subsequently, a state-behavior mapping strategy linking hydrogen storage levels with the operation modes of ammonia synthesis is established to prevent cost-ineffective shutdowns. The proposed model substantially improves operational flexibility but results in a challenging nonlinear fractional program. Based upon this model, a data-driven RAJIT scheme is developed for the real-time rolling optimization of AHMGs. Unlike conventional one-size-fits-all schemes using one optimization method throughout, the data-driven RAJIT intelligently switches between cost-effective deterministic optimization and risk-averse online-learning distributionally robust optimization depending on actual risk profiles, thus capitalizing on the respective strengths of these two optimization methods. To facilitate the solution of the resulting nonlinear program, we develop an equivalent-reformulation-based solution methodology by leveraging a constraint-tightening technique. Numerical simulations demonstrate that the proposed scheme guarantees safety and yields an overall cost reduction up to 14.6% compared with several state-of-the-art methods. © 2025 IEEE.

In this paper we deal with stochastic optimization problems where the data distributions change in response to the decision variables. Traditionally, the study of optimization problems with decision-dependent distributions has assumed either the absence of constraints or fixed constraints. This work considers a more general setting where the constraints can also dynamically adjust in response to changes in the decision variables. Specifically, we consider linear constraints and analyze the effect of decision-dependent distributions in both the objective function and constraints. Firstly, we establish a sufficient condition for the existence of a constrained equilibrium point, at which the distributions remain invariant under retraining. Morevoer, we propose and analyze two algorithms: repeated constrained optimization and repeated dual ascent. For each algorithm, we provide sufficient conditions for convergence to the constrained equilibrium point. Furthermore, we explore the relationship between the equilibrium point and the optimal point for the constrained decision-dependent optimization problem. Notably, our results encompass previous findings as special cases when the constraints remain fixed. To show the effectiveness of our theoretical analysis, we provide numerical experiments on both a market problem and a dynamic pricing problem for parking based on real-world data. system-level test, or SLT, is an increasingly important process step in today’s integrated circuit testing flows. Broadly speaking, SLT aims at executing functional workloads in operational modes. In this paper, we consolidate available knowledge about what SLT is precisely and why it is used despite its considerable costs and complexities. We discuss the types or failures covered by SLT, and outline approaches to quality assessment, test generation and root-cause diagnosis in the context of SLT. Observing that the theoretical understanding for all these questions has not yet reached the level of maturity of the more conventional structural and functional test methods, we outline new and promising directions for methodical developments leveraging on recent findings from software engineering.
