Human pose estimation and automatic detection is a common task in Human-computer Interaction but especially more capitalized in human-robot interaction inspired from biological form of human anatomy to realize a biomimetic control. In this sense, using human pose estimation it can be realized the whole human body posture estimation using anatomical human joints detection as inputs for specialized algorithms to calculate it based on key points obtained from a person Kinematic tree using regression, generation or part relation as models to estimate the optimal position from video or even from image. In this paper we propose a solution to estimate of 2D human arm posture of a subject using image capture as input for advanced machine learning algorithms to determine the subject joints position used to control in biomimetic manner a simulation of human like robotic arm with six degrees of freedom as a computer-aided model in Matlab-Simulink based on forward kinematics.

This paper conducts a comparative analysis of human torso posture estimation methodologies, focusing on an inertial measurement unit (IMU) sensor coupled with an Arduino UNO as a wearable approach, and Kinect V2, utilizing OpenCV for posture analysis. The core objective of this study is to ascertain which method yields greater precision in the estimation of human torso posture. The IMU sensor, characterized by its wearability, provides the distinct advantage of unobtrusiveness and the capability to record motion across diverse environments. Conversely, Kinect V2 leverages computer vision techniques to derive posture estimations from visual data in real-time. Through comprehensive experimentation, this research evaluates the accuracy of both methodologies by juxtaposing their posture estimation outcomes. The findings of this investigation aim to significantly contribute to the enhancement of human posture estimation systems, with wide-ranging implications for health, sports, and ergonomics.

This paper presents the use of AI-based uncertainty management in the processing of multiple modalities for the purpose of gait motion tracking using Inertial Measurement Units (IMU) sensors. More precisely, it deploys its effort on the assessment of gait abnormalities in Alzheimer disease and other health related illnesses. It can be used to perform a long-term tracking of gait patterns for Alzheimer's patients and identification of the changes that occur allowing for the evaluation of the disease's progression or the outcomes of treatments. Therefore, this research greatly boosts the efficiency of gait analysis systems especially in the identification of mechanical disorders of the musculoskeletal system and the subsequent treatments and the core of diagnosis and rehabilitation. Over the last decade, progress in technology has led to the enhancements in the IMUs that are used in gait analysis where IMUs have shifted from single sensor to multiple sensors where the sensor data is processed through a method known as sensor fusion and machine learning. These developments have made possible their use in both clinical and consumer contexts. Recent developments in gait motion capture enabled by AI are as the continuous trends in deep learning and video-based approaches made marker-less and non-invasive methods possible. Such analyses are crucial for identification work, which in turn positively affects the identification and reintegration into the delivery of health care, of diagnosis and rehabilitation.

The Internet of Things(IoT)is a modern approach that enables connection with a wide variety of devices *** to the resource constraints and open nature of IoT nodes,the routing protocol for low power and lossy(RPL)networks may be vulnerable to several routing ***’s why a network intrusion detection system(NIDS)is needed to guard against routing assaults on RPL-based IoT *** imbalance between the false and valid attacks in the training set degrades the performance of machine learning employed to detect network ***,we propose in this paper a novel approach to balance the dataset classes based on metaheuristic optimization applied to locality-sensitive hashing and synthetic minority oversampling technique(LSH-SMOTE).The proposed optimization approach is based on a new hybrid between the grey wolf and dipper throated optimization *** prove the effectiveness of the proposed approach,a set of experiments were conducted to evaluate the performance of NIDS for three cases,namely,detection without dataset balancing,detection with SMOTE balancing,and detection with the proposed optimized LSHSOMTE *** results showed that the proposed approach outperforms the other approaches and could boost the detection *** addition,a statistical analysis is performed to study the significance and stability of the proposed *** conducted experiments include seven different types of attack cases in the RPL-NIDS17 *** on the 2696 CMC,2023,vol.74,no.2 proposed approach,the achieved accuracy is(98.1%),sensitivity is(97.8%),and specificity is(98.8%).

Several instances of pneumonia with no clear etiology were recorded in Wuhan,China,on December 31,*** world health organization(WHO)called it COVID-19 that stands for“Coronavirus Disease 2019,”which is the second version of the previously known severe acute respiratory syndrome(SARS)Coronavirus and identified in short as(SARSCoV-2).There have been regular restrictions to avoid the infection spread in all countries,including Saudi *** prediction of new cases of infections is crucial for authorities to get ready for early handling of the virus ***:Analysis and forecasting of epidemic patterns in new SARSCoV-2 positive patients are presented in this research using metaheuristic optimization and long short-term memory(LSTM).The optimization method employed for optimizing the parameters of LSTM is Al-Biruni Earth Radius(BER)***:To evaluate the effectiveness of the proposed methodology,a dataset is collected based on the recorded cases in Saudi Arabia between March 7^(th),2020 and July 13^(th),*** addition,six regression models were included in the conducted experiments to show the effectiveness and superiority of the proposed *** achieved results show that the proposed approach could reduce the mean square error(MSE),mean absolute error(MAE),and R^(2)by 5.92%,3.66%,and 39.44%,respectively,when compared with the six base *** the other hand,a statistical analysis is performed to measure the significance of the proposed ***:The achieved results confirm the effectiveness,superiority,and significance of the proposed approach in predicting the infection cases of COVID-19.

This paper discusses the implementation of time delays in ultra-high-speed applications. Sensorless controls are used to estimate the rotor speed and angle. In model-based sensorless control, the voltage and current signals are used for angle estimation as an input of the observer. And there is a time delay when calculating these signals. Especially in the high-speed operating range, these time delays degrade in sensorless control performance. This paper proposes a method to compensate for these time delays, improving accurate angle estimation. The proposed time delay implementation method has been validated through simulations and experiments using a surface-mounted permanent magnet(SPM) motor for high-speed air compressor of fuel-cell systems. © 2024 IEEE.

Selecting the most relevant subset of features from a dataset is a vital step in data mining and machine *** feature in a dataset has 2n possible subsets,making it challenging to select the optimum collection of features using typical *** a result,a new metaheuristicsbased feature selection method based on the dipper-throated and grey-wolf optimization(DTO-GW)algorithms has been developed in this *** can result when the selection of features is subject to metaheuristics,which can lead to a wide range of ***,we adopted hybrid optimization in our method of optimizing,which allowed us to better balance exploration and harvesting chores more *** propose utilizing the binary DTO-GW search approach we previously devised for selecting the optimal subset of *** the proposed method,the number of features selected is minimized,while classification accuracy is *** test the proposed method’s performance against eleven other state-of-theart approaches,eight datasets from the UCI repository were used,such as binary grey wolf search(bGWO),binary hybrid grey wolf,and particle swarm optimization(bGWO-PSO),bPSO,binary stochastic fractal search(bSFS),binary whale optimization algorithm(bWOA),binary modified grey wolf optimization(bMGWO),binary multiverse optimization(bMVO),binary bowerbird optimization(bSBO),binary hysteresis optimization(bHy),and binary hysteresis optimization(bHWO).The suggested method is superior 4532 CMC,2023,vol.74,no.2 and successful in handling the problem of feature selection,according to the results of the experiments.

Simultaneous removal of phenanthrene and Pb using novel PPG-CNTs-nZVI beads

PPG-CNTs-nZVI bead was synthesized by polyvinyl alcohol, pumice, carbon nanotube, and guar gum-nanoscale zero-valent iron to be applied on simultaneously removal of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs;phenanthrene) and heavy metals (Pb2+) via adsorption. The individual and simultaneous removal efficiency of phenanthrene and Pb2+ using the PPG-CNTs-nZVI beads was evaluated with a range of initial concentrations of these two pollutants. The kinetics and isotherms of phenanthrene and Pb2+ adsorption by the PPG-CNTs-nZVI beads were also determined. The PPG-CNTs-nZVI beads show reasonably high phenanthrene adsorption capacities (up to 0.16 mg/g), and they absorbed 85% of the phenanthrene (initial concentration 0.5 mg/L) in 30 min. High Pb2+ adsorption capabilities were also demonstrated by the PPG-CNTs-nZVI beads (up to 11.6 mg/g). The adsorption fits the Langmuir model better than the Freundlich model. The adsorption still remained stable with various ionic strength circumstances and a wide pH range (2–5). Additionally, the co-adsorption of phenanthrene and Pb2+ by the PPG-CNTs-nZVI beads resulted in synergistic effects. Particularly, phenanthrene-Pb2+ complex formation via π–cation interactions demonstrated a greater affinity than phenanthrene or Pb2+ alone. The present findings suggest that PPG-CNTs-nZVI beads may be effective sorbents for the simultaneous removal of PAHs and heavy metals from contaminated waters. © The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer-Verlag GmbH Germany, part of Springer Nature 2024.
