A Pipelining Loop Optimization Method for Dataflow architecture

With the coming of exascale supercomputing era, power efficiency has become the most important obstacle to build an exascale system. Dataflow architecture has native advantage in achieving high power efficiency for scientific applications. However, the state-of-the-art dataflow architectures fail to exploit high parallelism for loop processing. To address this issue, we propose a pipelining loop optimization method （PLO）, which makes iterations in loops flow in the processing element （PE） array of dataflow accelerator. This method consists of two techniques, architecture-assisted hardware iteration and instruction-assisted software iteration. In hardware iteration execution model, an on-chip loop controller is designed to generate loop indexes, reducing the complexity of computing kernel and laying a good f（mndation for pipelining execution. In software iteration execution model, additional loop instructions are presented to solve the iteration dependency problem. Via these two techniques, the average number of instructions ready to execute per cycle is increased to keep floating-point unit busy. Simulation results show that our proposed method outperforms static and dynamic loop execution model in floating-point efficiency by 2.45x and 1.1x on average, respectively, while the hardware cost of these two techniques is acceptable.

The deployment of 6th Generation (6G) mobile networks will bring revolutionary changes to organizations and users through higher speeds, lower latency, and more intelligent network management. This will require more efficient spectrum sharing to improve network performance. Cognitive Radio (CR) can be employed to help achieve this goal. However, data collection at the fusion center for cooperative spectrum sensing (CSS) creates a risk of sensing user (SU) data leakage. In this paper, an intelligent CSS algorithm for mobile communication is proposed based on Federated Learning with a Swin-Transformer. First, to achieve the cross-domain process, a Continuous Wavelet Transform (CWT) is used with the normalized time series data to obtain a time-frequency spectrum map with joint time-frequency features. Second, Federated Learning is employed to realize distributed CSS to reduce sensing overhead, improve the security of sensing data, and eliminate the SU data isolation with traditional distributed CSS. Then, a new Swin-Transformer spectrum sensing is proposed for fusion learning of the time-frequency spectrum map. The fusion of Federated Learning and Swin-Transformer neural network provides cooperation with multiple SUs to achieve efficient spectrum sensing using the K -rank fusion criterion. Compared with the Convolutional Neural Network (CNN), ViT-Transformer, Graph Neural Network (GNN) and EfficientNet algorithms, the detection probability of the proposed algorithm has increased by 45 %, and the false alarm probability has decreased by 13 %.

Forced variational integrator for distance-based shape control with flocking behavior of multi-agent systems

A multi-agent system designed to achieve distance-based shape control with flocking behavior can be seen as a mechanical system described by a Lagrangian function and subject to additional external forces. Forced variational integrators are given by the discretization of Lagrange-d’Alembert principle for systems subject to external forces, and have proved useful for numerical simulation studies of complex dynamical systems. We derive forced variational integrators that can be employed in the context of control algorithms for distance-based shape with velocity consensus. In particular, we provide an accurate numerical integrator with a lower computational cost than traditional solutions, while preserving the configuration space and symmetries. We also provide an explicit expression for the integration scheme in the case of an arbitrary number of agents with double integrator dynamics. For a numerical comparison of the performances, we use a planar formation consisting of three autonomous agents. Copyright © 2020, The Authors. All rights reserved.

Stochastic Link Flow Model for Signalized Traffic Networks with Uncertainty in Demand

In order to investigate the stochastic features in urban traffic dynamics, we propose a Stochastic Link Flow Model (SLFM) for signalized traffic networks with demand uncertainties. In the proposed model, the link traffic state is described using four different link state modes, and the probability for each link state mode is determined based on the stochastic link states. The SLFM model is expressed as a finite mixture approximation of the link state probabilities and the dynamic link flow models for all the four link state modes. Using data from microscopic traffic simulator SUMO, we illustrate that the proposed model can provide a reliable estimation of the link traffic states, and as well as good estimations on the link state uncertainties propagating within a signalized traffic network. © 2018

This paper presents SmartPV-AIoT, a cost-effective and edge-computing-based framework for real-time fault detection and environmental monitoring in photovoltaic (PV) systems. Addressing the challenges faced in remote or intermittently connected environments, the proposed system integrates electrical and environmental sensor data using a Raspberry Pi 4 and NodeMCU microcontroller. A lightweight Res-BiLSTM model, combining residual learning and bidirectional long short-term memory (BiLSTM) layers, is deployed at the edge to perform local fault classification by analyzing seven key parameters derived from I to V curve measurements and ambient conditions. Additionally, the framework employs multi-sensor data fusion by integrating voltage, current, irradiance, and temperature measurements to support comprehensive fault detection and predictive maintenance. The framework was validated on a 4.56  kW PV installation using a dataset of 2400 labeled samples representing normal operation, open-circuit, short-circuit, and partial shading conditions. The classifier achieved a fault detection accuracy of 96.67 %, with a maximum inference latency of 290  ms and low power overhead, making it suitable for real-time, on-site diagnostics. The system supports offline operation with automatic data synchronization upon connectivity restoration and includes mobile-based monitoring for remote accessibility. The proposed framework is designed for modular deployment and scales linearly with array size. Overall, SmartPV-AIoT offers a scalable, resilient, and practical solution for intelligent PV monitoring, particularly in resource-constrained or off-grid environments.

This paper describes the implementation of automatic generation control (AGC) and automatic voltage regulator (AVR) under generation rate constraint (GRC) and coupling between automatic generation control and automatic voltage regulator while considering generation rate constrain of two areas for improve and better performance characteristic of load frequency control (LFC) problem. our control aim has to normalize the area control error (ACE), frequency error and tie-line power error in spite of the presences of system uncertainties and external load disturbance, So that the required frequency and power interchange with adjacent structures are maintained in order to reduce the transient deviations and to provide zero steady state error in proper short time, the behavior of the planned is checked by MATLAB SIMULINK software.

Virtual inertia controllers (VICs) for wind turbine generators (WTGs) have been recently developed to compensate the reduction of inertia in power systems. However, VICs can induce low frequency torsional oscillations of the drive train of WTGs. This paper addresses this issue and develops a new nonlinear VIC based on objective holographic feedbacks theory. This approach allows transforming the original nonlinear control into a completely controllable system of Brunovsky’s type. Simulation results under various scenarios demonstrate that the proposed method outperforms existing VICs in terms of suppression of low frequency drive-train torsional oscillations, enhancement of system frequency nadir as well as fast and smooth recovery of WTG rotor speed to the original MPP point before the disturbance. This paper presents a tightly-coupled multi-sensor fusion algorithm termed LiDAR-inertial-camera fusion (LIC-Fusion), which efficiently fuses IMU measurements, sparse visual features, and extracted LiDAR points. In particular, the proposed LIC-Fusion performs online spatial and temporal sensor calibration between all three asynchronous sensors, in order to compensate for possible calibration variations. The key contribution is the optimal (up to linearization errors) multi-modal sensor fusion of detected and tracked sparse edge/surf feature points from LiDAR scans within an efficient MSCKF-based framework, alongside sparse visual feature observations and IMU readings. We perform extensive experiments in both indoor and outdoor environments, showing that the proposed LIC-Fusion outperforms the state-of-the-art visual-inertial odometry (VIO) and LiDAR odometry methods in terms of estimation accuracy and robustness to aggressive motions.

In this paper, we present a dynamic feedback controller that computes the next state and the control signal over encrypted data using homomorphic properties of cryptosystems, whose performance is equivalent to the linear dynamic controllers over real-valued data. Assuming that the input as well as the output of the plant is encrypted and transmitted back to the controller, it is shown that the state matrix of any linear time-invariant controller can be always converted to a matrix of integer components. This allows the dynamic feedback controller to operate for infinite time horizon without decryption or reset of its internal state. For implementation in practice, we illustrate the use of a cryptosystem that is based on the Learning With Errors problem, which allows both multiplication and addition over encrypted data. It is also shown that the effect of injected random numbers during encryption for security can be maintained within a small bound by way of the closed-loop stability. Copyright © 2019, The Authors. Mem Brain: An Easy-to-Use Online Webserver for Transmembrane Protein Structure Prediction

Membrane proteins are an important kind of proteins embedded in the membranes of cells and play crucial roles in living organisms, such as ion channels,transporters, receptors. Because it is difficult to determinate the membrane protein's structure by wet-lab experiments,accurate and fast amino acid sequence-based computational methods are highly desired. In this paper, we report an online prediction tool called Mem Brain, whose input is the amino acid sequence. Mem Brain consists of specialized modules for predicting transmembrane helices, residue–residue contacts and relative accessible surface area of a-helical membrane proteins. Mem Brain achieves aprediction accuracy of 97.9% of ATMH, 87.1% of AP,3.2 ± 3.0 of N-score, 3.1 ± 2.8 of C-score. Mem BrainContact obtains 62%/64.1% prediction accuracy on training and independent dataset on top L/5 contact prediction,respectively. And Mem Brain-Rasa achieves Pearson correlation coefficient of 0.733 and its mean absolute error of13.593.
