Hoax news is false information disseminated to deceive or mislead audiences, often with the aim of swaying opinions or creating confusion. The rise of social media has amplified the spread of hoax news, particularly in sensitive areas such as politics and health. In response to this growing issue, this paper proposes a Natural Language Processing (NLP) approach of detecting hoax news using the Smith-Waterman similarity algorithm. By comparing news content with a curated dataset of verified hoaxes, the system calculates a similarity score to assess the likelihood of the news being false. The results of this study show that news articles analyzed using the Smith-Waterman algorithm achieve a high accuracy, with a similarity score exceeding $93 \%$ for news inputs over 100 words. Furthermore, the proposed system demonstrates an efficient processing time, completing the analysis in approximately 6.57 seconds. These findings underscore the algorithm’s potential for real-time application in detecting fake news on social media and other digital platforms. This research aims not only to enhance the technical capabilities of hoax detection systems but also to foster greater media literacy and a more informed public.

Humans rely increasingly on sensors to address grand challenges and to improve quality of life in the era of digitalization and big data. For ubiquitous sensing, flexible sensors are developed to overcome the limitations of conventional rigid counterparts. Despite rapid advancement in bench-side research over the last decade, the market adoption of flexible sensors remains limited. To ease and to expedite their deployment, here, we identify bottlenecks hindering the maturation of flexible sensors and propose promising solutions. We first analyze continued...challenges in achieving satisfactory sensing performance for real-world applications and then summarize issues in compatible sensor-biology interfaces, followed by brief discussions on powering and connecting sensor networks. In general, public or private organizations or companies have used information-based technology as a support to improve business performance to be more effective and efficient in order to achieve a company’s business goals. Given the large contribution of information technology in the application of hotel applications as a supporting information system, it is a vital system that must avoid risks that can hinder and cause harm to the hotel management business processes. Therefore, it is necessary to carry out risk management using the COBIT 5 framework to manage possible risks that may occur based on the APO12 (Manage Risk) domain. From the evaluation results of the data obtained through observation and interviews as well as the calculation of the results of the questionnaire based on 6 APO12 subdomains, the results of the risk management level capability assessment in hotel applications are still at level 3 or have reached the level of established process with the target to be achieved at level 4 resulting in a gap of 1 level. Based on the results obtained, it is necessary to propose recommendations that can be used by hotels in improving the application of information technology risk management so that in the future it can achieve the expected target level so that the APO12 level of capability can increase and become more optimal.

This paper presents a 20 W high-power RF-to-DC rectifier that can be applied to wireless power transfer (WPT) systems. To address the power limitations of conventional diodes, a rectifier is designed based on a gallium nitride (GaN) integrated circuit (IC) quasi-vertical Schottky barrier diode (SBD). Leveraging the advantages of high mobility, wide bandgap, and saturation velocity of the GaN, significant benefits of the diode have been derived, with an ultra-low turn-on voltage of 0.23 ± 0.005 V (at 1 A/cm
2
) and a high breakdown voltage of 180 V, to improve the rectification performance. Using this diode, a high-power rectifier with a wide input power range and high efficiency is developed. The proposed rectifier structure consists of a single-shunt self-developed diode and a topology with class-F harmonics control networks. It achieves a peak power conversion efficiency of 72.9% with an input power of 43 dBm at 900 MHz.

Alzheimer's disease (AD) is a type of dementia that leads to memory loss and impairment, which afects patients’ lives badly. It is not curable yet, but its progression can be slowed down if detected at earlier stages. In this research study, we propose a transfer learning-based convolutional neural network (CNN) model to classify magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) into one of four stages of Alzheimer's disease. One of the major limitations of the deep learning-based classification model is the non-availability of healthcare datasets related to AD. The widely used Alzheimer's Disease Neuroimaging Initiative (ADNI) dataset has a major class imbalance issue. We propose a generative adversarial network (GAN) based data augmentation technique to overcome the data imbalance. This promotes the investigation of applying GANs to generate synthetic samples for minority classes in Alzheimer's disease datasets to enhance classification performance.
