Background Chlortetracycline (CTC) belongs to the class of tetracycline’s compounds, which is known for its antibacterial activity. CTC was largely consumed by farm animals than humans, which leads to the growth antibiotic – resistant bacteria and environmental contamination. So far no one reported the electrochemical detection and determination of CTC by using AuNPs@BiVO4 composite. Some reports have been reported using conventional chromatography which is most expensive, time-consuming and highly equipped method. Results Here, we report a simple method for preparing gold nanoparticle decorated bismuth vanadate (AuNPs@BiVO4), which was dropped cast on a screen-printed carbon electrode (SPCE). The AuNPs@BiVO4 and AuNPs@BiVO4/SPCE materials were characterized using TEM, SEM-EDX, XPS, DLS, ELS, EIS, and CV. The as-prepared AuNPs@BiVO4/SPCE was used to detect and determine chlortetracycline (CTC) by different pulse potentials in phosphate buffer pH 7.0. The electrode possessed a wide linear range of 0.99 – 19.06 µM, with obtained LOD = 0.15 µM, LOQ = 0.49 µM, and sensitivity = 0.059 μA μM-1 cm-2. It also exhibited good selectivity, stability, and repeatability, recovering 87.14% - 100% for detecting CTC in Mili Q and tap water. Significance Facile and rapid synthesis of AuNPs@BiVO4 nanocomposite film modified electrode at physiological pH conditions has been prepared and A highly electrochemical detection and determination of CTC using AuNPs@BiVO4 nanocomposite film has been developed for the first time. Thus, the proposed electrode could be applied for the detection and determination of CTC in water sources and has the potential to be used for real sample analysis. © 2024, The Authors. Filling-to-packing switchover (also called as V/P switchover) is critical for assuring injection molding quality. An improper filling-to-packing switchover setting may result in various defects of injection-molded parts, such as excessive residual stress, flash, short shot, and warpage, etc. To enhance consistent molding quality, recent V/P switchover approach applies cavity pressure profiles requiring sensors embedded in mold cavities, which is invasive to mold cavities and even expensive. Instead of using cavity pressure sensors, this study thereby proposes a novel approach of identifying ideal V/P switchover timing using a tie-bar elongation profile. In this investigation, a dumbbell testing specimen mold is applied to experimentally verify the feasibility of the proposed method. The results showthat the mold filling and packing stages can be observed along the tie-bar elongation profile detected by mounting strain gauges on tie bars. Moreover, the varying process parameter settings including injection speed, filling-to-packing switchover point, and holding pressure, can be reflected in these profiles. By extracting their characteristics, the decision of filling-to-packing switchover is proved to be realistic. © 2019 Society of Plastics Engineers. All rights reserved.

Context: Contemporary software development is typically conducted in dynamic, resource-scarce environments that are prone to the accumulation of technical debt. While this general phenomenon is acknowledged, what remains unknown is how technical debt specifically manifests in and affects software processes, and how the software development techniques employed accommodate or mitigate the presence of this debt. Objectives: We sought to draw on practitioner insights and experiences in order to classify the effects of agile method use on technical debt management, given the popularity and perceived success of agile methods. We explore the breadth of practitioners' knowledge about technical debt;how technical debt is manifested across the software process;and the perceived effects of common agile software development practices and processes on technical debt. In doing so, we address a research gap in technical debt knowledge and provide novel and actionable managerial recommendations. Method: We designed, tested and executed a multi-national survey questionnaire to address our objectives, receiving 184 responses from practitioners in Brazil, Finland, and New Zealand. Results: Our findings indicate that: 1) Practitioners are aware of technical debt, although, there was under utilization of the concept, 2) Technical debt commonly resides in legacy systems, however, concrete instances of technical debt are hard to conceptualize which makes it problematic to manage, 3) Queried agile practices and processes help to reduce technical debt;in particular, techniques that verify and maintain the structure and clarity of implemented artifacts (e.g., Coding standards and Refactoring) positively affect technical debt management. Conclusions: The fact that technical debt instances tend to have characteristics in common means that a systematic approach to its management is feasible. In the present study, we indicated that the detection of specific subtypes of circulating tumor microemboli (CTM) in post-operative patients could help predict cancer recurrence. By using conventional strategies for detection of non-small-cell lung cancer (NSCLC) circulating tumor cells, is significantly limited due to inherently heterogeneous and dynamic expression of EpCAM, and degradation of cytokeratins during epithelial-tomesenchymal transition. These lead to non-negligible false negative detection of "uncapturable and invisible" single CTCs. To solve the problem, we investigated the clinical significance of CTM subtypes, including single CTCs, multi-CTCs cluster, and WBC-CTCs cluster on SACA chip for studying cancer metastasis and recurrence in patients with lung adenocarcinoma. © 2020 CBMS-0001

The significant wave height and period in the South Coast of Yogyakarta were used to calculate the potential electrical energy generated using Oscillating-water-column (OWC) system. This system would be positioned in areas where ocean waves do not break during the lowest tides. Changes in bathymetry would affect changes in the height of waves and help determine the breaking waves' location. Electrical energy resulting from ocean wave energy conversion using the OWC system was used to determine hydrogen production's potential, possibly generated using the seawater electrolysis method. Pantai Baron (Gunung Kidul) and Pantai Baru (Bantul), located in Yogyakarta, Indonesia, were studied in terms of their properness to place the OWC system. Three points in each of the locations will be compared using the Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) method. The factors involved were the potential of hydrogen gas production, the OWC location suitability, potential disasters, the environment, and socio-economy. Pantai Baron is an ideal location for producing hydrogen gas using the electrolysis method utilizing electrical energy converted from ocean wave energy using the OWC system. The potential for hydrogen gases that can be produced is 640 kilograms per year.

The growth of consumer electronic products is encouraged by innovations and has stimulated the persistent development of earphones for high-quality sound reproduction. Earbud earphone is located in the concha of the human ear facing an ear-canal. The placement of earphones in the concha plays a remarkable role in the sound pressure level response of an earphone. In this study, ten earphones were tested for frequency response and total harmonic distortion using head and torso simulator in an anechoic chamber. Three positions and two orientations of earphones in the concha were identified for measurement. Based on the responses of all earphones at all orientations and positions, it is concluded that there is a variation in the frequency response and total harmonic distortion. Even though the variation is small in magnitude, its effect on sound perception, sound exposure, and the hearing threshold is phenomenal. Based on the proposition presented in this work and the safe daily sound exposure, it has been determined that the variation in the frequency response affects the perceived loudness of sound and can cause signif-icant differences in the daily sound exposure limit for a human being. © 2020, Canadian Acoustical Association. Complications in the ALMA detection of phosphine at Venus

Recently published ALMA observations suggest the presence of 20 ppb PH3 in the upper clouds of Venus. This is an unexpected result, as PH3 does not have a readily apparent source and should be rapidly photochemically destroyed according to our current understanding of Venus atmospheric chemistry. While the reported PH3 spectral line at 266.94 GHz is nearly co-located with an SO2 spectral line, the non-detection of stronger SO2 lines in the wideband ALMA data is used to rule out SO2 as the origin of the feature. We present a reassessment of wideband and narrowband datasets derived from these ALMA observations. The ALMA observations are re-reduced following both the initial and revised calibration procedures discussed by the authors of the original study. We also investigate the phenomenon of apparent spectral line dilution over varying spatial scales resulting from the ALMA antenna configuration. A 266.94 GHz spectral feature is apparent in the narrowband data using the initial calibration procedures, but this same feature can not be identified following calibration revisions. The feature is also not reproduced in the wideband data. While the SO2 spectral line is not observed at 257.54 GHz in the ALMA wideband data, our dilution simulations suggest that SO2 abundances greater than the previously suggested 10 ppb limit would also not be detected by ALMA. Additional millimeter, sub-millimeter, and infrared observations of Venus should be undertaken to further investigate the possibility of PH3 in the Venus atmosphere. © 2021, CC BY-NC-SA.

Phonons, or vibrational quanta, are behind some of the most fundamental physical phenomena in solids, including superconductivity, Raman processes, and broken-symmetry phases. It is therefore of fundamental importance to find ways to harness phonons for controlling these phenomena and developing novel quantum technologies. However, the majority of current phonon control techniques rely on the use of intense external driving fields or strong anharmonicities, which restricts their range of applications. Here, we present a scheme for controlling the intensity fluctuations in phonon emission at room temperature based on multimode ultrastrong light–matter coupling. The multimode ultrastrong coupling regime is achieved by coupling two optical phonon modes in lead halide perovskites to an array of nanoslots, which operates as a single-mode cavity. The extremely small mode volume of the nanoslots enables unprecedented coupling strengths in a cavity phonon-polariton system. In the far-detuned, low-cavity-frequency regime, we demonstrate that the nanoslot resonator mediates an effective coupling between the phonon modes, resulting in superthermal phonon bunching in thermal equilibrium, both within the same mode and between different modes. Experimental results are in good agreement with a multimode Hopfield model. Our work paves the way for the tailoring of phonons to modify charge and energy transport in perovskite materials, with potential applications in light-collecting or emitting devices. Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) is an early childhood disorder that affects individual ability to interact and socialize with other people. Children with ASD have problems interacting with their peers and have difficulty to exercise their social skills. In this study, a virtual reality (VR) based assistive tool was modelled and simulated using a gaming software called Dark Basic Professional (DBPro). The assistive tool was developed to support ASD children to interact and apply the social skills. Seven tasks were designed for the VR assistive tool based on three targeted skills including facial expression recognition, reading comprehension, and task delivery. As a preliminary study, only three non-ASD children were participated in the VR assistive tool experiment to analyse the tasks. The experiment results showed that all participants successfully performed five out of seven tasks. However, all participants failed to perform the video prompting task while one participant was not able to recognize the emotion from robotics-based faces in the facial expression. The results from pulse sensor showed that the heart rate was stable during the basic experiment using VR but unstable during the applied experiment and real-world discussion. There is a need to review the overall modelling and simulation technique, and the number of participants among ASD children should be increased for the future study.

In this study, the lateral force acting on an acoustically levitated plate in a near-field acoustic levitation setup is numerically analyzed to understand the in-plane behavior of the levitated plate. A vibrating surface in a ultrasound frequency can levitate a planer object by the effect of the acoustic pressure radiated from the surface. This is called near-field acoustic levitation. At the same time, the sound pressure distribution in the air gap between the radiation surface and the levitated plate generates an acoustic streaming which yield the acoustic viscous stress on the surface of the levitated plate. The resulting force and torque acting on the levitated plate governs the stability and the in-plane motion of the plate. In this paper, the force acting on the levitated plate is calculated by integrating the acoustic viscous stress which is derived through the Nyborg's formulation of the acoustic streaming and the sound field analysis using the boundary element method (BEM), which can properly take account of the effect of the infinite medium. The validity of the calculation is verified by comparing the calculated force with experimental results reported in the *** dependence of the force on the lateral position of the levitated plate is then discussed in terms of the in-plane stability. © 25th International Congress on Sound and Vibration 2018, ICSV 2018: Hiroshima Calling.
