Context: Contemporary software development is typically conducted in dynamic, resource-scarce environments that are prone to the accumulation of technical debt. While this general phenomenon is acknowledged, what remains unknown is how technical debt specifically manifests in and affects software processes, and how the software development techniques employed accommodate or mitigate the presence of this debt. Objectives: We sought to draw on practitioner insights and experiences in order to classify the effects of agile method use on technical debt management, given the popularity and perceived success of agile methods. We explore the breadth of practitioners' knowledge about technical debt;how technical debt is manifested across the software process;and the perceived effects of common agile software development practices and processes on technical debt. In doing so, we address a research gap in technical debt knowledge and provide novel and actionable managerial recommendations. Method: We designed, tested and executed a multi-national survey questionnaire to address our objectives, receiving 184 responses from practitioners in Brazil, Finland, and New Zealand. Results: Our findings indicate that: 1) Practitioners are aware of technical debt, although, there was under utilization of the concept, 2) Technical debt commonly resides in legacy systems, however, concrete instances of technical debt are hard to conceptualize which makes it problematic to manage, 3) Queried agile practices and processes help to reduce technical debt;in particular, techniques that verify and maintain the structure and clarity of implemented artifacts (e.g., Coding standards and Refactoring) positively affect technical debt management. The significant wave height and period in the South Coast of Yogyakarta were used to calculate the potential electrical energy generated using Oscillating-water-column (OWC) system. This system would be positioned in areas where ocean waves do not break during the lowest tides. Changes in bathymetry would affect changes in the height of waves and help determine the breaking waves' location. Electrical energy resulting from ocean wave energy conversion using the OWC system was used to determine hydrogen production's potential, possibly generated using the seawater electrolysis method. Pantai Baron (Gunung Kidul) and Pantai Baru (Bantul), located in Yogyakarta, Indonesia, were studied in terms of their properness to place the OWC system. Three points in each of the locations will be compared using the Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) method. The factors involved were the potential of hydrogen gas production, the OWC location suitability, potential disasters, the environment, and socio-economy. Pantai Baron is an ideal location for producing hydrogen gas using the electrolysis method utilizing electrical energy converted from ocean wave energy using the OWC system. The potential for hydrogen gases that can be produced is 640 kilograms per year.

Obtaining a robust discrimination model using near infrared spectroscopy features remains a real challenge for chemometricians due to various factors in the existing datasets. Splitting data, its size, and preprocessing are some of the important factors for improving model prediction performance that must be carefully considered. However, research that explicitly studies these influencing factors is limited. Therefore, the main objective of this work was to study the effect of sample splitting, its size, and preprocessing on detecting mislabeling in meatball products (shrimp/meat) using a Multi-layer Perceptron (MLP) classifier on a dataset acquired by the NIR spectrophotometer instrument. The sample splitting methods employed were random selection (RS) and the Kennard-Stone (KS) algorithm, with test sizes samples of 80/20, 70/30, and 60/40, followed by Standard Normal Variate (SNV) and Multiplicative Signal Correction (MSC) preprocessing. Three types of random values (2, 42, and 142) are defined to keep it repeatable. The analysis revealed that the KS data splitting method performed better than RS for detecting mislabeling in meatball classification for all splitting dataset sizes. SNV preprocessing also improved model performance compared to raw data and MSC preprocessing. The findings suggest that the KS data splitting method with a training/testing size greater than 70/30 and the application of SNV preprocessing have great potential for optimizing a discrimination model based on NIR spectroscopy to detect mislabeling in meatball products made from shrimp and meat.

The rapid deployment of photovoltaic (PV) systems in diverse applications is crucial for facilitating the transition to a carbon-neutral society. Vehicle-integrated PV (VIPV) technology shows promise in reducing CO 2 emissions within the transportation sector. However, several challenges must be addressed in the design and fabrication of VIPV modules, including compatibility with 3D curved vehicle bodies and durability under various mechanical loads encountered in operating environments—such as torsion of the targeted installation bodies—which differ from the requirements of conventional static PV modules. This study quantitatively analyzes the mechanical strength (bending and torsion) of tunnel oxide passivated contact (TOPCon) crystalline silicon solar cells cut using thermal laser separation (TLS) technology through comparison with identical solar cells cut using laser scribing and cleaving (LSC) technology. Ball-on-ring and four-line bend tests are conducted on state-of-the-art TOPCon half-cells, and their stress characteristics under spherical surface deformation are evaluated through finite element method simulations, revealing the optimal cell size (182 mm × 45.5 mm, aspect ratio = 4) for integration into a spherical surface with curvature radius of 1 m. In addition, the torsional strength of the TOPCon half-cells integrated into a polymer-based submodule is experimentally assessed, and the mechanism of crack initiation is identified. The results demonstrate the superior durability of TLS-cut cells against bending and torsion loads compared with LSC-cut cells, indicating their advantages for VIPV applications.
