In this paper the authors present the results of a prototype implemented based on previous concept studies: a novel mobility management framework with functions for built-in verification of configuration changes and for fault tolerance. This mechanism is required for increased network stability, to prevent the data loss, inadequate changes and to ensure that the moving user stays connected even in a busy network environment. The scope of this paper is to propose a proof of concept study in order to demonstrate the reliability and the superiority of the new architecture when compared to the traditional peer-to-peer (P2P) model. The paper deals with the implementation of the algorithm for fault tolerance and functions for updating the network configuration against all unexpected changes. The advantage of this approach is that the fault rate is extremely decreased, the data flow is constant, time is saved, the client's performance is increased and the server load is reduced. The mobility framework is implemented in Java using OMNET++ platform as a simulation environment.

The purpose of this discussion panel is to present the United States Department of Transportation (DOT) human factors research needs to the larger human factors research community. The DOT Human Factors Coordinating Committee (HFCC) serves as a multi-modal team with government-wide liaisons to promote human factors and to address crosscutting human factors issues in transportation. HFCC regularly conducts a survey of the DOT modal agencies and other federal agencies with a transportation focus (e.g., the National Transportation Safety Board) to identify cross-cutting DOT research needs. In this panel, the results of a recent survey will be presented with a discussion of how each modal agency is addressing these human factors areas of interest. Additionally, HFCC representatives from five modal agencies will review their current research efforts, discuss their anticipated future research needs, and address questions from the audience.

In this paper the authors present the results of an implementation prototype based on previous concepts studies: a novel management mobility framework with functions for builtin verification of configuration changes and for fault tolerant algorithm. Such a mechanism is required to obtain network stability, to prevent the data loss, inadequate changes and to ensure that the moving entity stays connected in case of the mobility of a dynamic and busy wireless network environment. The scope of this paper is to propose a proof of concept study in order to demonstrate the reliability and the superiority of the new architecture when compared to the traditional peer-to-peer (P2P) model, to evaluate the effects of the novel framework. The paper deal with the implementation of the algorithms for fault tolerant and functions for update the network configuration against all unexpected changes. We report the distance-dependent fluorescence behavior of Au-DNA conjugates prepared by equilibrating the phos-phine-stabilized gold nanoparticles (AuNPs) of 10-nm size with the designed rigid spacer double-stranded DNA consisting of thiol-modified target and Cy3-labelled complementary probe of different lengths (5 to 20 nm). The products were immobilized onto a MPTMS (3- mercaptopropyltrimethoxysilane)-modified glass substrate and were finally excited with a 532-nm laser source. Fluorescence quenching in both solution and solid platforms was assessed via disulfide bond cleavage between Au and DNA-Cy3 using mercaptoethanol. Successful and effective cleavage revealed by UV-vis absorption and fluorescence profiles was achieved in just only a few minutes.

We investigate the plasmonic responses of gold nanoparticles (AuNP) coated and uncoated on 40nm gold thin film with surrounding medium having different refractive indices using Surface Plasmon Resonance (SPR) ellipsometry. The bulk sensitivities obtained from the measurements in both the cases are found to have same order of magnitude. However SPR dip in case of AuNP coated gold thin film has been shifted to longer wavelength (near IR) as compare to the bare gold thin film under the same environment and condition. Hence, it could provide a good platform to study biomolecular interaction where the absorption of light by the biomolucules is minimal. By monitor the induced changes in polarization state or phase of reflected light from the sample surface, which depend on surface properties of the sample, we use these changes as a sensor signal and compare that with theoretical simulation. This kind of characterization technique is non-destructive, label free and it has high sensitivity and sub-nanometer thickness resolution.

AlNiLa metallization technology is introduced for AMLCD as gate electrodes. Ni can effectively prevent Al diffusing into Si-based layer while La can obviously increase uniformity during AlNiLa deposition than that of conventional Al-Nd alloy. According to the electrical measurement results, the compatibility of AlNiLa in TFT has been verified.

The cross plane thermal conductivity of CuFeSe2 thin film was determined by differential 3 omega technique with a deposited Au-Cr narrow strip as the microprobe. The microprobe was driven by an AC current at frequency ω and result a third-harmonic voltage corresponding to the temperature drop for the calculation of thermal conductivity across the thin film. In order to obtain the accurate data by excluding the influence of thermal resistance of interfaces between film and substrate, a series of thin films with various thickness of 200, 400, 600 and 800 nm were prepared for systematic study. Basically the thermal conductivity is linearly dependent on temperature for T=100-350 K. One interesting finding is that the thinner the film the larger the thermal conductivity. For example, at 300 K the thermal conductivity of the 200 nm thin film is about 8.8 W·m-1·K-1, whereas the thermal conductivity of 600 and 800 nm films are 2.4 and 1.7 W·m-1·K-1 respectively. This consequence is attributed to the better crystallization in thinner films that was confirmed by X-ray diffraction analysis.
