To remanufacture automobile systems, it is important to understand the future failure rate of the serially produced systems. In addition, remanufacturing departments need the information about the number of cores to remanufacture, the condition of these cores, as well as the number of replacement systems the market needs. Based on the existing univariate, bivariate and multivariate models a new improved forecasting model is developed, which considers practical factors like export of the vehicle to other countries, damage of the entire vehicle, reporting delay between production and in-market time or between vehicle failure and failure reporting time. This paper presents all necessary tools to achieve the improvement and its implementation in MATLAB. Copyright © 2019 European Safety and Reliability Association.

The development of multi-cloud systems with an acceptable level of service delays that significantly affect the quality of the end-users experience is an open research problem, for which simulation is successfully used. This paper proposes a simulation model in Matlab for estimating the time to write data updates initiated by the end-users to the databases of all cloud service providers for a multi-cloud system with a geo-distributed middleware that implements, as an example, the VIP-grab data consistency protocol. The simulation results indicate that our model can be useful in choosing a data consistency protocol that influences the architecture of a multicloud system. © 2022 IEEE.

Nowadays the information of future rates of systems produced in series appears to be crucial to the production plan, especially for remanufacturing departments. Several questions need to be answered: the number of cores to remanufacture the condition of those cores as well as the number of replacement system the market requires. Based on a bivariate prognosis model, a multivariate model is developed to take more variables of stress in field into account. What's more, the fitting process has been optimized by using neural networks. This paper presents all necessary tools to perform a multivariate lifetime prognosis as well as the implementation in MATLAB. © 2019 European Safety and Reliability Association. This study introduces an advanced algorithm based on the Generalized Least Deviation Method (GLDM) tailored for the univariate time series analysis of COVID-19 data. At the core of this approach is the optimization of a loss function, strategically designed to enhance the accuracy of the model’s predictions. The algorithm leverages second-order terms, crucial for capturing the complexities inherent in time series data. Our findings reveal that by optimizing the loss function and effectively utilizing second-order model dynamics, there is a marked improvement in the predictive performance. This advancement leads to a robust and practical forecasting tool, significantly enhancing the accuracy and reliability of univariate time series forecasts in the context of monitoring COVID-19 trends. © 2024 College of Education, Al-Iraqia University. Previously published results on the operation of superregenerative receivers rely on some approximations to obtain analytic results. In this paper we investigate the linear superregenerative receiver in the sinusoidal steady state without any approximations. A frequency-domain formulation allows us to efficiently compute the relevant waveforms in the time and the frequency domains. One of the main results is the ability to efficiently predict the exact envelope and the instantaneous phase and frequency of the generated waveforms. This approach is used to analyze the receiver under various operating conditions. A comparison of the results with those obtained with prior techniques is provided. © 2011 IEEE.

In this paper, we consider the synchronous composition of Finite State Machines (FSMs) that corresponds to instantaneous communication of hardware components. Such FSMs can be deterministic or nondeterministic, partial or complete. We first extend the existing synchronous composition operator from a pair of components to a collection of components with multiple input and output ports, and provide a procedure to compute the composition working directly on the collection of transition tables of the component FSMs. Then, based on the notion of input-output Moore pair (the output is not sensitive to the input), we prove the following sufficient condition: if the composition has the property that every cycle of ports has a component with a Moore pair, then the class of quasi-complete and quasi-deterministic FSMs is closed under the proposed synchronous composition.

We present novel concepts, technologies and potentials of optical data communication, especially for future computer architectures. The WDM (wavelength division multiplexing) and the optical wiring technologies are explained in detail. Experimental results of tunable optical filters, which play a major role in WDM systems, are reported. The authors present their latest research results and developments of a code generator for Matlab / Simulink block diagrams and to download the generated code onto safety related systems such as a safety PLC (Programmable Logic Controller). An example demonstrates the different stages for code generation, evaluation and conversion before such code can be used in process industries. systematic approaches are necessary when such source code is embedded in process units. To the best knowledge of the authors, Matlab/Simulink source code has not been transferred on safety PLC before. Matlab / Simulink is an advanced and matured programming environment, especially for simulations of engineering processes and systems. Hardly no hardware exists, when it comes to download the developed algorithms and to use it in real world applications and so far this approach is the only one for using developed and tested Matlab / Simulink software on an safety related system. © 2008 IEEE.
