Spatial audio is an important component of the metaverse. With the rapid increase of the spatial resolution and the number of objects, the data volume of the spatial side information has grown larger. However, the low bit rate transmission of spatial side information in the object-based audio coding methods leads to the low-quality reconstruction of spatial side information with limited bandwidth. To address this issue, this paper constructs a cascade design of spatial audio coding and unequal error protection (UEP) rateless codes. Furthermore, the further protection of specific spatial side information is proposed for different scenarios, which effectively addresses the limitation of traditional spatial audio coding in side information protection. For the situation where the code length K of different importance levels is different, we propose an adaptive degree distribution (ADD), adding K to the selection probability as an influencing factor, which has better performance than other degree distribution for short code length. ADD is used to replace the multiple degree distribution strategy of the traditional unequal error protection scheme, and the block error rate (BER) is reduced nearly 10 times compared with the traditional scheme. © 2024 IEEE.

Deep learning-based distributionally robust joint chance constrained distribution networks PV hosting capacity assessment

As distributed photovoltaic (PV) penetration in distribution networks (DNs) is increasing, it is essential to assess the PV hosting capacity (PVHC) to ensure the safe operation of DNs. This paper proposes a data-driven distributionally robust joint chance constrained (DRJCC) distribution networks PVHC assessment framework. Firstly, the spatiotemporal attention, projection, supervision, and Transformer architecture-based generative adversarial blocks are introduced to develop an augmented time series generative adversarial network (ATS-GAN), which, by integrating both supervised and unsupervised learning during the joint training process, better captures the spatiotemporal characteristics of PV and load power. Subsequently, leveraging the ATS-GAN, a Wasserstein metrics-based ambiguity set of PV and load power probability distributions is constructed, centered on the distributions induced by the generator neural network. Secondly, the DRJCC PVHC assessment model is proposed. A combination of the Bonferroni inequality and conditional value-at-risk approximation is adopted to transform the multivariate DRJCC model into a tractable conic formulation for efficient computation. Numerical results demonstrate that the proposed method effectively captures the spatiotemporal characteristics and uncertainties of multivariate distributions under multiple constraints, significantly reducing the conservatism typically associated with distributionally robust individual chance constraints. © 2025

The trajectory prediction of the target vehicle can improve the perception ability of autonomous driving vehicles in the open world environment and is an essential technology for realizing high-level fully automatic driving. The traditional vehicle trajectory prediction model based on image input is sensitive to the image style of the dataset and has weak generalization ability. The prediction model based on intermediate features can overcome the problem of different dataset styles. However, there are relatively few explorations on building models based on intermediate semantic features. Inspired by the feature pyramid in image processing, this paper proposes an FPSP (Feature Pyramid network based on Skip connect for vehicle Prediction) network. By adding the pyramid feature branch, the original network is improved. The initial coarse information is hierarchically introduced into corresponding abstract high-dimensional features. Experiments on the KITTI dataset prove that FPSP achieves considerable improvement with only a slight increase in time consumption. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

Aiming at the problem of sins cumulative error correction, a dual-mode navigation algorithm based on infrared and SAR information fusion is studied. Radar system can provide SAR image and range information, and can measure height under certain conditions, but it cannot work in front. Infrared system can provide infrared image and optical axis direction of infrared lens. Based on the satellite positioning algorithm, this paper studies a fusion algorithm of radar SAR image and infrared. The image matching and measurement results are used to navigate to correct the accumulated errors of sins. As a pivotal mechanical component of turbine drive-chain, gearbox suffers from various accidents and fault diagnosis could remarkably enhance its reliability and maintain running safety and lifetime. Vibration-based analysis on single-channel is mainly adopted in previous diagnostic, which cannot catch full vibration inner information in gearbox sensors and bring model performance down. In this paper, a novel method based on the fusion of multi-direction and multi-source signals and the convolutional neural network (MDMS-CNN) is presented. This method can obtain multi-dimensional feature maps from MDMS and preserve the time correlation among different signal sequences. First, features from MDMS are extracted via a corrosion conversion method that converts signals into two-dimensional (2-D) gray images. Then, homologous images are spliced into same channels, while heterogeneous images are superimposed to different channels. Finally, fusion features are input into CNN for fault classification. In experiments, the method is validated on a gearbox diagnosis case. Results have shown that the proposed method achieves 99.86% recognition accuracy and faster convergence speed compared to others. © 2022 IEEE.

The scarcity of fault samples presents a significant challenge for fault diagnosis in industrial processes. Conventional methods often fail to deliver satisfactory results when dealing with small sample sizes. In addressing the issue of small sample fault diagnosis in industrial processes, this paper utilizes the Variational Mode Reconstruction(VMR) algorithm to screen the best components decomposed by the Variational Mode Decomposition(VMD) through the envelope entropy then random weighting them and signal reconstruction to achieve data enhancement, to enrich the sample size and to prevent the model overfitting phenomenon due to the scarcity of samples. Meanwhile, this paper integrates Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) and Long Short-term Memory Neural Network (LSTM) to propose a network model of spatio-temporal feature fusion for feature extraction and classification. The experiments demonstrate that this model not only enhances data diversity but also ensures consistency before and after enhancement, effectively mitigating overfitting. Furthermore, it guarantees high recognition and generalization rates in fault diagnosis. © 2024 IEEE.

With the rapid development of minimally invasive surgery (MIS) in the medical field, surgical robot technology has developed rapidly. Human-machine combined assisted surgical technology has begun to bring good news to the majority of doctors and patients who need surgery. It has gradually become a common medical treatment. Minimally invasive surgery can overcome the shortcomings of traditional surgery. MIS has the advantages of less trauma, less impact on patients, faster recovery, less intraoperative blood loss, and so on. For surgical robots, surgical instruments are important execution components that have been widely concerned and studied in recent years. One of the core technologies of surgical robots is the detection of surgical equipment based on deep learning, which can effectively assist doctors to complete the surgery. Current surgical instrument detection methods need to be improved in real-time performance and accuracy. Therefore, this paper proposes a new real-time detection algorithm, which is based on the deep learning object detection system YOLOv7. The real dataset, which contained information on seven surgical instruments, was selected for training and validation. Experiments show that the method has good precision, recall rate, and mAP, which can be used to improve the ability of robot-assisted doctors to identify instruments during surgery. © 2023, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG.

Scene text recognition (STR) methods combined with semantic information have made great progress to recognize texts in natural scenes, most of which are daily words. However, research on mining semantic information in industrial texts attracts less attention. Since industrial texts follow a different semantic pattern defined by industry standards, it challenges many existing methods to conduct accurate semantic reasoning. In this paper, we abstract the industry standards into two aspects of prior knowledge: the grouping property and the prior lexicon. Correspondingly, a knowledge-based language model is proposed with several group-wise correlation modules and a lexicon-based reasoning module to learn semantic rules from both data and the prior knowledge. Besides, we transfer the prior knowledge into data by generating synthetic pure text datasets according to the industry standards' rules, which introduces more prior knowledge to the language model. Furthermore, a novel STR framework is presented by combining the knowledge-based language model and an attention-based vision model. For evaluation, two industrial text datasets called CIN and SB are collected from real-world industrial field surveillance. Experiments indicate that our method's word-level accuracy outperforms state-of-the-art methods with 15% and 10.61% on CIN and SB datasets respectively. © 2022 IEEE.
