Based on the set coverage theory and the multi-objective site selection planning theory, a multi-objective site selection planning model for rescue trains of a railway in mountainous area of China is established. The results show that when four rescue trains are planned to be deployed, two schemes can be obtained, and the average rescue response time of the two schemes is not much different. When five rescue trains are planned to be deployed, five schemes are obtained, of which the average rescue response time of four schemes is very close, and they can be considered as reasonable schemes. When six or more rescue trains are planned to be deployed, the deployment density of rescue trains is too high, resulting in redundancy of rescue resources. Compared with the single objective site selection planning model, the scheme obtained by the multi-objective site selection planning model of the railway in mountainous area of China rescue train can greatly reduce the average rescue response time and improve the rescue efficiency. © ASCE.

Advanced Grid-Forming Undersea Pumped Storage to Enable 100% Renewable Offshore Oilfield Power systems

To advance carbon reduction of the offshore oilfield power system (OOPS), the grid-forming undersea pumped storage system (GFM-UPSS) emerges as a promising solution. This paper introduces a novel framework for a 100% renewable OOPS utilizing the GFM-UPSS. Firstly, the control strategy of the GFM-UPSS is presented. It consists of the grid-side converter (GSC), machine-side converter (MSC), and reversible pump-turbine (RPT) to achieve frequency and voltage regulation. A steady-state model is then developed detailing the water head, power, and volume of the spherical shell. In addition, the paper explores the converter parameter impacts on the GFM-UPSS transient model and derives the closed-form solutions. With the steady-state model, an optimal sizing method is presented and economic advantages in the marine environment are studied for the GFM-UPSS. Finally, EMT simulations are conducted to assess the frequency & voltage stabilities and verify the effectiveness of the GFM-UPSS in enabling a 100% renewable OOPS. The optimal sizing results show that construction costs, mainly for OWP, are dominated and are influenced by sphere radius, placement depth, and start-stop cycles, while a 2.5 capacity ratio between OWP and GFM-UPSS consistently emerges as optimal. Moreover, analysis of transient stability shows that it improves with higher frequency & voltage modulation coefficient and lower virtual impedance. The impact of RPT and MSC, mainly on frequency regulation, is determined by the DC droop coefficient and turbine inertia. © 2010-2012 IEEE.

Influence of the Unloading system on Solar Array Attitude Adjustment in Ground Tests

Purpose: Conducting the attitude adjustment tests of the solar array on the ground is highly significant. However, the introduction of the gravity unloading system that can meet large-amplitude movements will cause changes in the dynamic characteristics of the system. This paper aims to guide the design of the unloading system by analyzing its influence and verify the reliability of the ground experiment. Methods: Polycondensation and Lagrangian energy method are used to establish a low-degree-of-freedom model, which can reflect the dynamic characteristics of the ground attitude adjustment system. Eigenvalue analysis and system response analysis are used to analyze the influence of the unloading system and its parameters. Results: Through eigenvalue analysis, it is found that the magnetic-pneumatic suspension unloading system adopted in this paper will introduce an additional mode to the attitude adjustment system, causing the original fundamental frequency of the system to split into two. By selecting a small mass for the hybrid magnetic element, the fundamental frequency error between the ground and space systems can be controlled within an acceptable range. The additional mode will be introduced at a relatively high frequency, minimizing its effect. Through the analysis of the response, it is found that the maximum value of the response of the system in the ground test state is mainly determined by the driving impact and is less affected by the unloading system. Therefore, it can reflect the space state well. However, due to the unloading system, both the fundamental frequency and the damping ratio show a decreasing trend, which will reduce the decay rate of the system, and will decrease further with the increase of the mass of the hybrid magnetic element. In addition, the synchronization of the vibrations between the simulator and the unloading system is also affected by the mass of the hybrid magnetic element. An online self-organizing radial basis function neural network based on Gaussian Membership

Radial basis function neural network (RBFNN) is one of the most popular neural networks, and an appropriate selection of its structure and learning algorithms is crucial for its performance. Aiming to alleviate the sensitivity of the RBFNN to its parameters and improve the overall performance of the network, this study proposes a Gaussian Membership-based online self-organizing RBF neural network (GM-OSRBFNN). First, the Gaussian Membership is introduced to enhance network insensitivity to network parameters and used as a similarity metric to indicate the similarity between the sample to a hidden neuron and that between hidden neurons. Second, the similarity metric is used to design the neuron addition and merging rules to achieve a self-organizing network structure, and error constraints are introduced to the neuron addition rule;also, the noisy neuron deletion rule is defined to make the network structure more compact. In addition, an online fixed mini-batch gradient algorithm is used for online learning of network parameters, which can guarantee fast and stable convergence of the network. Finally, the proposed GM-OSRBFNN is tested on common nonlinear system modeling problems to verify its effectiveness. The experimental results show that compared to the existing models, the GM-OSRBFNN can achieve competitive prediction performance with a more compact network structure, faster convergence speed, and, more importantly, better insensitivity to network parameters. © The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer Science+Business Media, LLC, part of Springer Nature 2025.

Enhancing Network Abnormal Detection With NMF-SECNN: Leveraging Deep Feature Learning for High-Precision Traffic Analysis

Detection of abnormalities in industrial network traffic plays a crucial role in maintaining network system security. However, current abnormal detection models suffer from low precision, and extracting deep-level feature information from industrial network traffic is difficult. This leads to the loss of partial feature information during the detection process, thereby affecting detection efficiency. To address this issue, this paper proposes an abnormal traffic detection framework for industrial networks. By employing a Non-negative Matrix Factorization (NMF)-based method for extracting abnormal traffic features and optimizing the NMF decomposition process through constructing label consistency constraints, we facilitate effective feature extraction. Additionally, the Squeeze-and-Excitation attention mechanism is introduced into a Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) to construct a classifier that enhances detection precision without increasing complexity, enabling efficient identification of complex network traffic patterns. This results in the NMF-Squeeze-and-Excitation-CNN (NMF-SECNN) model, which combines effective feature extraction capability with a lightweight structural design, achieving superior detection performance in industrial network environments. The proposed method achieves a detection accuracy of 99.4%, representing a 5.6% improvement over baseline methods, and a recall rate of 98.2%, showcasing the model's capability to identify abnormalities across diverse scenarios. Various classification metrics confirm the model's robustness and effectiveness, demonstrating its significant advantages over traditional methods. © 2013 IEEE.

Discharge in transformer oil is one of the primary causes of transformer failures. The physical mechanisms of oil discharges are not yet fully understood. Scholars have simulated the discharge process with electrodynamics model, but there is limited research on how the ionization energy, which changes due to various factors such as components and temperature of transformer oil, affect the streamer discharge characteristic. To improve the mechanism of discharge in transformer oil, this paper adopts an electrohydrodynamic model to study the impact of different ionization energies on the streamer discharge characteristics of transformer oil, including initiation voltage, discharge voltage, development speed, and electric field strength. When the ionization energy is between 6.1 eV and 8.1 eV, the initiation voltage and discharge voltage increase linearly with the ionization energy. Within the range of 7.1 eV to 8.1 eV, the time in the streamer accumulation phase increases exponentially with the ionization energy, while the streamer development speed decreases. © Beijing Paike Culture Commu. The transient electromagnetic method (TEM) is widely used in geophysical exploration. In TEM data interpretation, nonlinear inversion plays an important role. However, traditional TEM nonlinear inversion adopts the OCCAM imaging method, which merely presents the approximate shape of the stratum model, with poor inversion accuracy and much iteration time. To solve the above problems, a novel nonlinear inversion approach based on extreme learning machine (ELM) is proposed in this paper. The ELM is required to establish the input–output mapping relationship of the inversion network only once through the analytical method, which is different from the traditional neural network method that demands iterative gradient learning and is prone to fall into the local optimum. Moreover, the ELM inversion network by randomly assigning the hidden layer parameters is capable of mapping the observed TEM data and quickly producing resistivity images, which avoids time-consuming iteration and inversion calculations. The presented approach is applied to both synthetic and field examples. The results show that compared with the traditional nonlinear inversion algorithms (BP and OCCAM), the proposed method achieves better inversion accuracy and significantly reduces the calculation time, which verifies the effectiveness of the ELM algorithm for TEM data interpretation. Current optimization methods for microgrid scheduling face issues such as insufficient precision in energy distribution, high operational costs, and inefficiency. In response to these challenges, an optimization scheduling method for multi-energy microgrids based on the QUBO (Quadratic Unconstrained Binary Optimization) quantum computing model is proposed in this paper, alongside a discretization approach based on a grid partitioning strategy. To validate the feasibility of addressing microgrid optimization scheduling problems in a quantum computing environment, a QUBO model is constructed and simulation studies are conducted in the qbsolv environment provided by D-Wave. The results indicate that operational costs are significantly reduced with an increase in the number of grids, particularly a reduction of 4.52% when the number of grids increases from five to ten. This method not only effectively enhances the precision of electricity supply and energy utilization efficiency but also reduces unnecessary electrical waste and economic costs. © Beijing Paike Culture Commu. The loop heat pipe with a flat evaporator is mainly divided into two forms:rectangular evaporator and disk-shaped *** rectangular evaporator has advantages such as low heat leakage,a thin shell,and a large contact area compared to the disk-shaped ***,most of the research on rectangular evaporators focuses onworking fluids such as water,methanol,and acetone,when theseworking fluids are in operation,the internal pressure of the evaporator is less than atmospheric ***,propylene,and other working fluids can also be utilized in the loop heat pipe,these working fluids demonstrate better performance when operating within other temperature intervals,for example,the operating temperature range of ammonia is−20℃to 50℃,however,in an atmospheric pressure environment,it is very difficult for the shell of the rectangular evaporator to withstand the saturated vapor pressure of the working *** paper designs a rectangular flat plate loop heat pipe that can use ammonia as the working *** internal reinforcing structure is used to improve the pressure strength of the *** secondary wick connects the compensation chamber and the capillary wick *** experiment indicates that this kind of rectangular evaporator is unaffected by the position,and the secondary wick can effectively supply liquid under different *** thermal resistance of the evaporator wall was analyzed,and it was found that the thermal resistance of the evaporator wall was the main component of the thermal resistance of the *** heat transfer capacities of 460 W@0.5 m and 200W@10 m were *** test results indicate that by setting a reinforcing structure inside the flat plate evaporator,the evaporator can withstand internal *** with the design of the secondary wick,the flat plate evaporator can use working fluids with different pressures,expanding the range of available working fluids.
