The paper adopted the turbulence model of Wall-Model Large Eddy Simulation with improved algebraic form (WMLES S-Omega) to carry out the study on the fluid exciting force on impeller of high-speed centrifugal pump under the conditions of Poiseuille inflow and uniform inflow. The external characteristics and the vibration displacement of the shaft of high-speed centrifugal pump are tested. The results indicated that it is the high matching that the test and numerical external data of high-speed centrifugal pump under the condition of Poiseuille inflow. The test results of vibration displacement of shaft match the fluid exciting force better in terms of waveform and phase difference under the condition of Poiseuille inflow. The contribution degree of force and torque from the shroud inner surface in the X and Y direction is 76.3%, 80.7%, 79.5% and 85% of the resultant force and torque, and its force from the inner and outer surfaces of shroud and hub in the Z direction is 94.3%, and its torque from blades' surfaces in the Z direction is 98.3%. The study results can provide some theoretical support for the research of fluid exciting force and hydraulic optimization design of centrifugal pump. © 2024 Institute of Physics Publishing. In recent years, soft grippers have gained significant attention due to their adaptability and safety. However, when performing horizontal object grasping, their limited structural stiffness prevents them from withstanding the torque generated by friction between the gripper and the object, leading to a loss of contact and limiting their horizontal load capacity. To address this limitation while preserving the adaptability of soft grippers, this paper proposes a gripper structure called the rigid-soft robotic hand, which incorporates lateral rigid connecting rods outside the soft joints. The paper analyzes the bending capacity of the rigid-soft joint using kinematic methods and investigates the influence of link design parameters on maximum bending angle. Subsequently, a finite element analysis is conducted to study the finger structure with the added connecting rods, aiming to optimize the link design parameters. Experimental results demonstrate the grasping capabilities of the rigid-soft gripper in both vertical and horizontal orientations. The findings show that the rigid-soft gripper significantly improves the load-carrying capacity during horizontal object grasping while maintaining the adaptability of the soft gripper. © The Authors.

Aiming at the problem that the current depth estimation of single image mostly uses the ground public data set, and there is less research on aerial images, this paper uses the collected visible and infrared aerial image data sets to study the depth estimation. We used FCRN and LapDRN to extract the depth estimation results of visible aerial image and infrared aerial image under global and single object respectively, and compared the results extracted from the two types of networks by qualitative and quantitative methods. The results show that the depth estimation accuracy of visible aerial image is higher than that of infrared image, but the increase rate of infrared image accuracy index is higher than the increase rate of image depth range. The image depth estimation results extracted by LapDRN method are superior to FCRN in accuracy, structure consistency and edge clarity, which indicates that LapDRN is more effective in the estimation of aerial image depth information. © 2023 IEEE.

This paper examines the potential for leveraging the order dispatch algorithm in the commercial domain to enhance the intelligent allocation of military combat tasks, thereby improving the speed and accuracy of command decision-making in the context of intelligent warfare. The study proposes an "order-based" command and control model, which aims to overcome the efficiency bottleneck and information lag problem in traditional combat task allocation. The algorithmic design incorporates multi-dimensional association rules and similarity matching algorithms to guarantee the optimal matching of combat tasks and resources, thereby achieving the objectives of rapid response, efficient resource utilization, and enhanced combat effectiveness. This paper focuses on the challenges and advantages of this model in the context of naval warfare. It highlights the strategic value of order-based command and control in non-direct confrontation missions, such as reconnaissance, patrol, and intelligence gathering. The utilization of the "combat cloud," artificial intelligence, and a highly integrated command network enables the precise allocation of resources and the rapid execution of tasks. This, in turn, enhances the ISR capability, network-centered warfare effectiveness, and cross-domain synergistic warfare capability in naval warfare. The study also delineates the specific implementation process of the algorithm, which includes multi-dimensional association rule mining and similarity matching based on historical cases, with the objective of generating optimal combat scenarios and ensuring the effective execution of task orders. © 2025 SPIE.

With the acceleration of modernization and the rapid development of popular music, the splendid culture of Guqin, a type of Chinese traditional musical instrument which has lasted for nearly 1,000 years, is facing a serious inheritance crisis. Therefore, how to make full use of modern technical means to digitally store and manage the valuable traditional music cultural resources is the current *** response to the aforementioned challenges, this study focuses on the Guqin, an emblematic Chinese traditional musical instrument. By employing advanced audio feature extraction techniques, this research systematically analyzes the diverse playing techniques of Guqin, thereby establishing a comprehensive acoustic dataset. This endeavor not only facilitates the digital preservation and management of the Guqin's musical heritage but also pioneers a standardized framework for the creation of acoustic datasets. This framework serves as a benchmark for the development of similar datasets, thereby promoting the conservation and standardization of resources associated with Chinese traditional musical instruments. This will provide a scientific basis for the inheritance, standardized management and construction of more acoustic datasets of ethnic musical instruments in the future. © 2024 IEEE.

This study aims to develop an image-processing-based ping-pong training robot to facilitate effective practice for ping-pong players. In the developed system, the image of the ping-pong player is processed from the camera integrated into the robot, the player's position is determined and the ball is directed to areas that are difficult for the player to reach. The reason for launching the ball into difficult areas is to improve the players' physical and strategic abilities. In the process of throwing the ball, the ball is placed in the hopper, driven from the hopper to the launch point with the help of a servo motor, and launched with the help of two DC motors. Experimental results confirm that the robot accurately detects the player's position and successfully directs the ball to the intended target area. Furthermore, the findings demonstrate that this system, which integrates image processing and robotic control technologies, provides a robust and adaptable training tool for ping-pong players.

With the extension of the service time of the structure and the worse service temperature conditions, the drift problem of high-temperature strain gauges gradually becomes prominent. This research aims to address the issue of the drift of measurement results because of the performance degradation of high-temperature strain gauges, and investigate the drift law under different temperatures considering complex service environments. In this paper, a combination of experimental research and theoretical analysis is utilized to design and conduct the accelerated performance degradation test on high-temperature strain gauges. Based on the result of the test, an accelerated performance degradation model is developed using the Wiener process and Arrhenius model. Finally, estimation curves for the average value and percentile value of the performance parameters of the high-temperature strain gauges are obtained, which demonstrates that the established accelerated performance degradation model can reasonably describe the degradation law. Additionally, the established accelerated performance degradation model enables effective analysis and compensation of gauge drift at any temperature. © The Institution of engineering & Technology 2023.

In recent years, the bicycle industry has undergone continuous transformation through the introduction of novel technologies and innovations. Automated Manual Transmission (AMT) system, which is widely used in motor vehicles and defined as automating the traditional manual gearbox through electronic components and actuators, has an important place in the automotive industry due to its advantages such as fuel efficiency, low cost, and driver comfort. However, a similar system is not yet available on bicycles. This article describes developing a new gear-shifting system that enables the manual gear-shifting mechanism in bicycles to be automated with an intelligence-based system. The developed system automatically performs the most appropriate gear change by processing the data received from the sensors, such as inclination, wheel, and pedal cadence, thus providing a more efficient and comfortable driving experience that does not require effort. The system has been tested by integrating it into a bicycle with manual transmission and it has been confirmed that automatic gear shifts were successful.

As a recent hot topic in railways, Virtual Coupling (VC) is aimed at providing more frequent rail services by operating trains closer. Given that current protection methods cannot fulfill the requirements of VC in terms of safety and efficiency, the implementation of VC urgently calls for an advanced protection method that allows successive trains to drive closer on the premise of safety. Therefore, to improve efficiency, after the force analysis of the train, a train emergency braking model that can describe the real process of emergency braking is proposed. The train emergency braking distance calculated from this model is smaller compared with the traditional train emergency braking model. Then, to ensure train safety, the deficiencies of the existing relative braking distance(RBD) based protection methods are analyzed. After adding constraints of time and space to the train emergency braking process and using the train emergency braking model proposed in this paper, a space-time interval based protection method is proposed. Compared with the RBD protection method, this method can ensure that the trains can track closer under the premise of safety, which can fulfill the requirements of VC. Finally, experiments are conducted to verify the safety and efficiency of the proposed methods. When the braking performance of the preceding train is worse than that of the following train, the space-time interval based protection method avoids the train colliding during the braking process, while RBD based protection method cannot avoid train collision. Experimental results numerically show that the minimum safe distance can be reduced by 29%, compared with the RBD based protection method. © 2022 IEEE.

The research on virtual coupling technology in metros is a hot topic recently. Intelligent automatic train units can flexibly form virtually coupled train formations (VCTFs) when needed, so that the train capacity would be able to adapt to passenger demands, which are changing dynamically with time and space. However, matching the capacity of trains with passenger demands is a difficult decision-making optimization problem. In this work, we propose a collaborative control problem to decide when and how to create a VCTF to meet the dynamic passenger demands in a metro system. A mathematical model is formulated which can simultaneously optimize the number of related train units in a VCTF, the train dwelling time at a station and the running time in a section. Performance indicators such as train load factor and number of stranded passengers are adopted to measure the satisfaction of the operators and passengers. Then, a multi-objective genetic algorithm is adopted to obtain the Pareto optimum solutions. Finally, simulation experiments are conducted, and the relationship between line efficiency and passenger demand in different discrete time periods is analyzed to verify the correctness and feasibility of the model. Compared with the traditional timetabling method, adopting the virtual coupling technology can better adapt the train capacity to meet the time changing passenger demands, which is welcomed by both metro operators and passengers in reality. © 2022 IEEE.
