With the adoption of Web services technology to realize Service Oriented Architectures, the need arises for more flexible and dynamic technologies for the just-in-time integration and composition of services. As the runtime integration, selection and management of services involves a variety of crosscutting concerns, such as error handling, service monitoring, and QoS enforcements, Aspect Oriented Programming (AOP) is useful to modularize such concerns. In this paper we investigate aspect-oriented support for crosscutting concerns of distributed management of web service compositions. We propose to use a distributed AOP approach, Aspects with Explicit Distribution (AWED), to modularize such concerns in a distributed variant of the Web Services Management Layer (WSML). Concretely, we present three contributions. First, we present an extension of the WSML to distributed compositions. Second, we present two extensions to AWED's aspect language which are useful for the modularization of crosscutting concerns of web services: support for chains of (a)synchronous remote advice that communicate through futures, and support for different modes of parameter passing between remote pointcuts and advice. Third, we illustrate our approach by investigating error handling in distributed web compositions. © Springer-Verlag Berlin Heidelberg 2006.

We present a method for determining the one-dimensional submodules of a Laurent-Ore module. The method is based on a correspondence between hyperexponential solutions of associated systems and one-dimensional submodules. The hyperexponential solutions are computed recursively by solving a sequence of first-order ordinary matrix equations. As the recursion proceeds, the matrix equations will have constant coefficients with respect to the operators that have been considered. Copyright 2006 ACM.

The OSGi provides a service platform which ensures the interoperability between heterogeneous technologies and various devices in home network environment. Nowadays, user access control is one of the core parts which should be cleared, but there are no concrete researches yet. So in this paper, we propose a supplemented authorization policy management framework based on RBAC (Role-Based Access Control) for user access control at home network environment in which the OSGi service platform is operated. The proposed access control framework improves effectiveness, assures privacy and provides convenience at the same time. In conclusion, we provide the base to implement the effective, safe, and convenient the OSGi service platform by proposing the new framework in authorization and user administration part. © 2006 IEEE.

With the increasing popularity of web services, a number of technologies have emerged that target the integration and composition of web services as lightweight components. However, a number of problems have been identified in these approaches, for example regarding an overly static integration and lacking support for the modularization of crosscutting concerns. In this paper, we evaluate FuseJ, an architectural description language for unifying aspects and components, as an approach for the composition of web services. We outline how FuseJ can be used to this end and present an evaluation that compares FuseJ to four other web service composition approaches according to criteria such as the organization and flexibility of the composition and the support for Aspect-Oriented software Development (AOSD). Although FuseJ does not allow describing complete business processes, we find that it excels at selective and dynamic composition and that it supports advanced separation of concerns without the need to introduce additional constructs. © 2005 IEEE.

In object-oriented software engineering roles are considered both classifications and instances. To reduce the gap between the conceptual modelling of roles and a corresponding implementation, we propose a new role modelling concept based on warped inheritance hierarchies. We integrated this new modelling concept in our prototype-based object-oriented round-trip engineering environment SelfSync. In this way it is possible to model roles in an Extended Entity-Relationship diagram while the corresponding implementation objects are automatically created and synchronized with the conceptual model. We apply constraint enforcement during the lifetime of role objects, based on dependency and role combinations. Copyright © 2005, American Association for Artificial Intelligence (***). Real-time multimedia applications are usually played back many times. For those applications, the distribution of actual execution time is no longer unknown from the second playback. In this paper, we propose a novel dynamic voltage scaling (DVS) algorithm, called CLDVS, for scheduling real-time multimedia applications. In order to minimize energy consumption, CLDVS determines the processor's operating frequency and supply voltage using the distribution of actual execution time during a time interval at the beginning of the interval. For that, all active tasks in the time interval are identified and incrementally placed on the time vs. scaling factor space in order to reduce variations of the scaling factor for minimum energy consumption. Simulation experiments show CLDVS achieves enormous energy savings and outperforms the existing DVS algorithms with different dynamic workload characteristics. © Springer-Verlag Berlin Heidelberg 2005.

In the Internet and distributed systems, we can always access many application servers for gaining many information or electronic business processing, etc. Despite of those advantages of information technology, there have been also many security problems that many unauthorized users attack our network and computer systems for acquiring many information or destroying our resources. In this paper, we propose a client authentication model that uses two authentication server systems, duplicated authentication. Before a client requests information processing to application web servers, the user acquire session password from two authentication servers. The proposed client authentication model can be used making high quality of computer security using the two authentication procedures, user's password and authentication password. The second password by two authentication servers is used in every request transaction without user's input because of storing to client's disc cache when a session is opened first. For more secure authentication we can close session between client and server if a request transaction is not created during a time interval. And then user will acquire authentication password again using logon to the authentication servers for requesting information processing. The client authentication procedure is needed to protect systems during user's transaction by using duplicated password system. And we can detect intrusion during authorized client's transaction using our two client authentication passwords because we can know immediately through stored client authentication password when a hackers attack our network or computer systems. © Springer-Verlag Berlin Heidelberg 2005.

Authentication agent enables an authorized user to gain authority in the Internet or distributed computing systems. It is one of the most important problems that application server systems can identify many clients authorized or not. To protect many resources of web server systems or any other our computer systems, we should perform client authentication process in the Internet or distributed client server systems. Generally, a user can gain authority using the user's ID and password. But using client's password is not always secure because of various security attacks of many opponents. In this paper, we propose an authentication agent system model using an interactive authentication database. Our proposed agent system provides secure client authentication that add interactive authentication process to current systems based on user's ID and password. Before a user requests a transaction for information processing to distributed application servers, the user should send a authentication key acquired from authentication database. The agent system requests an authentication key from the user to identify authorized user. The proposed authentication agent system can provide high quality of computer security using the two passwords, user's own password and authentication key or password. The second authentication password can be acquired by authentication database in every request transaction without user's input because of storing to client's database when the user gets authority first. For more secure authentication, the agent system can modify the authentication database. Using the interactive database, the proposed agent system can detect intrusion during unauthorized client's transaction using the authentication key because we can know immediately through stored the authentication password when a hackers attack out network or computer systems. © Springer-Verlag Berlin Heidelberg 2005.

This paper analyzes some features of discovering frequent patterns on large set of transactions. On this basis, it gives an improved algorithm (called AprioriAdjust) with the development of two techniques: (1) applying the compressive processing of the transaction set for mining sequential patterns;(2) presenting a method based on the statistical mechanism to evaluate the sequence's support, in which the convergence of average value of the support in the whole procedure is considered, so as to effectively prune the candidate set of the frequent patterns. Furthermore, it discusses the results of the experiments. Compared to the AprioriTID algorithm, it shows that the AprioriAdjust algorithm is more efficient and scalable over the large sets of transactions.

The communicative behaviors in Wireless Sensor Networks(WSNs) can be characterized by two different types: routing and broadcasting. The broadcasting is used for effective route discoveries and packet delivery. A blind flooding approach for broadcasting generates many redundant transmissions. The Dominant Pruning(DP) algorithm is reduced the redundant transmissions of packets based on 2-hop neighborhood information. However, in DP(include TDP/PDP) algorithm, a particular node is frequently selected as a rebroadcasting node and its life-time is shortened. As a result, DP algorithm is insufficient in terms of the overall energy dissipation in sensor network. In this paper, we propose the algorithm based on Partial Dominant Pruning(PDP) algorithm to enhance sensor network lifetime. We compare and analyze the simulation result of our algorithm with PDP. © IFIP International Federation for Information Processing 2005.
