LAMMPS is one of the most popular Molecular Dynamic (MD) packages and is widely used in the field of physics, chemistry and materials simulation. Layered Materials Force Field (LMFF) is our expansion of the LAMMPS potential function based on the Tersoff potential and inter-layer potential (ILP) in LAMMPS. LMFF is designed to study layered materials such as graphene and boron hexanitride. It is universal and does not depend on any platform. We have also carried out a series of optimizations on LMFF and the optimization work is carried out on the new generation of Sunway supercomputer, called SWLMFF. Experiments show that our implementation is efficient, scalable and portable. When generic LMFF is ported to Intel Xeon Gold 6278C, $2\times$ performance improvement is achieved. For the optimized SWLMFF, the overall performance improvement is nearly $200-330\times$ compared to the original ILP and Tersoff potentials. And SWLMFF has good parallel efficiency of 95%-100% under weak scaling with 2.7 million atoms on a single process. The maximum atomic system simulated by SWLMFF is close to $2^{31}$ atoms. And nanosecond simulations in one day can be realized.

The primary challenge in tracing the participants in sports and marathon video or images is to detect and localize the jersey/Bib number that may present in different regions of their outfit captured in cluttered environment conditions. In this work, we proposed a new framework based on detecting the human body parts such that both Jersey Bib number and text is localized reliably. To achieve this, the proposed method first detects and localize the human in a given image using Single Shot Multibox Detector (SSD). In the next step, different human body parts namely, Torso, Left Thigh, Right Thigh, that generally contain a Bib number or text region is automatically extracted. These detected individual parts are processed individually to detect the Jersey Bib number/text using a deep CNN network based on the 2-channel architecture based on the novel adaptive weighting loss function. Finally, the detected text is cropped out and fed to a CNN-RNN based deep model abbreviated as CRNN for recognizing jersey/Bib/text. Extensive experiments are carried out on the four different datasets including both bench-marking dataset and a new dataset. The performance of the proposed method is compared with the state-of-the-art methods on all four datasets that indicates the improved performance of the proposed method on all four datasets. © 2019 IEEE.

As a widely used modeling language, AADL (Architecture Analysis and Design Language) plays an important role in designing safety-critical systems. It provides abundant components for describing system architecture and supports the early prediction and repetitive analysis of performance-critical attributes. However, the approach used by AADL to describe the system behavior is based mainly on automata theory; thus, encountering the state space explosion problem when modeling and verifying large and complex systems is inevitable. Furthermore, due to the lack of means to describe the behavior details, it is also difficult for AADL to support the accurate analysis and verification of functional and non-functional requirements. In this paper, we propose a language called RBML that supports refined behavior modeling to compensate for the behavior modeling and verification deficiencies of AADL. This new language is based on AADL but extends the ability to detail various behaviors and allows SMT (Satisfiability Modulo Theories) solvers to verify the constructed refined behavior model, thus alleviating the state space explosion problem to some extent. Experiments on Baidu Apollo are presented to demonstrate the feasibility of our proposed approach.

Person search is a challenging task due to the different requirements of annotations between person detection and Re-identification. In general, person search methods use the supervised person Re-identification methods, where abundant identity labels of the bounding boxes are essential. However, most person images are unlabeled in the real-world scenario and it is unpractical to annotate the abundant fine-grained labels for unlabeled images. Obviously, the existing supervised methods are not appropriate with the real-world scenario. Therefore, we propose an unsupervised learning method for person search in this paper, which contacts two parts: one is unsupervised person detection and the other is unsupervised person Re-identification. The experimental results on two well-known datasets, CUHK-SYSU and PRW, indicate that proposed method achieves competitive performance than the state-of-art unsupervised methods. Note that proposed method has greater practical significance even though it does not get the results as good as the general supervised methods.

In recent years, machine learning potentials (MLPs) have become indispensable tools in physics, chemistry, and materials science, driving the development of software packages for molecular dynamics (MD) simulations and related applications. These packages, typically built on specific machine learning frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, or JAX, face integration challenges when advanced applications demand communication across different frameworks. The previous TensorFlow-based implementation of DeePMD-kit exemplified these limitations. In this work, we introduce DeePMD-kit version 3, a significant update featuring a multi-backend framework that supports TensorFlow, PyTorch, JAX, and PaddlePaddle backends, and demonstrate the versatility of this architecture through the integration of other MLPs packages and of Differentiable Molecular Force Field. This architecture allows seamless backend switching with minimal modifications, enabling users and developers to integrate DeePMD-kit with other packages using different machine learning frameworks. This innovation facilitates the development of more complex and interoperable workflows, paving the way for broader applications of MLPs in scientific research. Copyright © 2025, The Authors. With the fast development of 3D imaginations becomes more and more fascination, multi-view stereo based 3D reconstruction is a significant technique for those application. To facilitate the subsequent processing of 3D reconstruction and reduce the possibility of other algorithms falling into local optimal solutions, attempting to get better and faster performance, a new parallax calculation based on symmetric continuous optimization is proposed in this paper. The algorithm is proposed here will be tested respectively in the same data, in order to certificate the algorithm applied is better than traditional minimize El algorithm.

In the domain of industrial automation many companies nowadays need to serve a mass market while at the same time customers demand individual customer-specific solutions. Such customizations often apply to individual products only but may also be needed at the level of product lines for whole market segments. To handle this problem, development is frequently organized in software ecosystems (SECOs), i.e., interrelated software product lines involving internal and external developers. This paper introduces an approach supporting feature-oriented, distributed development and evolution in industrial SECOs. It is common industrial practice to first derive initial products from a product line, then adding and adapting features to satisfy individual customer requirements, possibly followed by merging back these changes into the original product line. Our approach goes beyond this practice and also allows to share new or updated features by transferring them to other product lines in the ecosystem. This is for instance useful when a feature developed in an individual customer project becomes relevant for another market segment or when updates of features need to be transferred to related products in the ecosystem. We describe and motivate research challenges based on the industrial ecosystem of an industry partner. We outline the key elements and operations of our approach, including an implementation in our FORCE2 development environment. We demonstrate application scenarios from the well-known Pick-and-Place Unit (PPU) system as a proof of concept.

This work investigates the problem of efficiently learning discriminative low-dimensional representations of multi-class large-scale image objects. We propose a generic deep learning approach by taking advantages of Convolutional Neural Networks (CNN), sparse dictionary learning, and orthogonal projections. CNN is not only powerful on feature extraction, but also robust to spatial variance and changes. Sparse dictionary learning is well known for disentangling nonlinear underlying discriminative factors in data. The orthogonal projection is a notable efficient tool to project multi-class data onto low dimensional discriminative subspace. The proposed procedure can be summarized as follows. At first, a CNN is employed to extract high-dimensional (HD) preliminary convolutional features. Secondly, to avoid the high computational cost of direct sparse coding on HD CNN features, we present to learn sparse representation (SR) in an orthogonal projected space over a task-driven sparsifying dictionary. We then exploit the discriminative projection on SR. The whole learning process is treated as a joint optimization problem of trace quotient maximization, which involves the CNN parameters, the orthogonal projection on CNN features, the dictionary and the discriminative projection on sparse codes. The related cost function is well defined on product manifold of the Stiefel manifold, the Oblique manifold, and the Grassmann manifold. It is optimized via a geometrical stochastic gradient descent algorithm. Finally, the quality of dictionary and projections learned by the proposed approach is further investigated in terms of image classification. The experimental results show that the approach can achieve a strongly competitive performance with state-of-the-art image classification methods. Copyright © 2019, The Authors. All rights reserved.

Prior to the deep learning era, shape was commonly used to describe the objects. Nowadays, state-of-the-art (SOTA) algorithms in medical imaging are predominantly diverging from computer vision, where voxel grids, meshes, point clouds, and implicit surface models are used. This is seen from numerous shape-related publications in premier vision conferences as well as the growing popularity of ShapeNet (about 51,300 models) and Princeton ModelNet (127,915 models). For the medical domain, we present a large collection of anatomical shapes (e.g., bones, organs, vessels) and 3D models of surgical instrument, called MedShapeNet, created to facilitate the translation of data-driven vision algorithms to medical applications and to adapt SOTA vision algorithms to medical problems. As a unique feature, we directly model the majority of shapes on the imaging data of real patients. As of today, MedShapeNet includes 23 datasets with more than 100,000 shapes that are paired with annotations (ground truth). Our data is freely accessible via a web interface and a Python application programming interface (API) and can be used for discriminative, reconstructive, and variational benchmarks as well as various applications in virtual, augmented, or mixed reality, and 3D printing. Exemplary, we present use cases in the fields of classification of brain tumors, skull reconstructions, multi-class anatomy completion, education, and 3D printing.
