In this work, the control problem for type-2 T-S fuzzy system with packet dropouts is investigated by modeling the system as a switched system with an unstable subsystem. The mode-dependent average dwell time approach in both slow and fast switching sense is utilized for the analysis and synthesis. A sufficient condition is given by ensuring the packet loss rate no bigger than the specific fast switching mode-dependent average dwell time (MDADT) and the corresponding feedback matrices are obtained. Several simulation results illustrate the feasibility and effectiveness of the proposed method and the priority of the type-2 fuzzy system on describing some nonlinear systems.

In this paper,the quantized control problem is discussed for a class of highly nonlinear stochastic systems with multiple delays under the DoS *** coefficients are allowed to be highly nonlinear,and the control input is subject to the quantization effects and the DoS *** aim is to deal with the stabilization problem for unstable highly nonlinear stochastic systems with multiple *** p-th moment exponential stability and almost surely exponential stability are discussed in light of the Lyapunov ***,an illustrative example is given to verify the validity of the theoretical results.

We analyse the conservatism and regret of distributionally robust (DR) stochastic model predictive control (SMPC) when using moment-based ambiguity sets for modeling unknown uncertainties. To quantify the conservatism, we compare the deterministic constraint tightening while taking a DR approach against the optimal tightening when the exact distributions of the stochastic uncertainties are known. Furthermore, we quantify the sub-optimality gap and regret by comparing the performance when the distributions of the stochastic uncertainties are known and unknown. Analysing the accumulated sub-optimality of SMPC due to the lack of knowledge about the true distributions of the uncertainties marks the novel contribution of this work.

A comprehensive survey on STP approach to finite games

Nowadays the semi-tensor product (STP) approach to finite games has become a promising new direction. This paper provides a comprehensive survey on this prosperous field. After a brief introduction for STP and finite (networked) games, a description for the principle and fundamental technique of STP approach to finite games is presented. Then several problems and recent results about theory and applications of finite games via STP are presented. Turing's model has been widely used to explain how simple, uniform structures can give rise to complex, patterned structures during the development of organisms. However, it is very hard to establish rigorous theoretical results for the dynamic evolution behavior of Turing's model since it is described by nonlinear partial differential equations. We focus on controllability of Turing's model by linearization and spatial discretization. This linearized model is a networked system whose agents are second order linear systems and these agents interact with each other by Laplacian dynamics on a graph. A control signal can be added to agents of choice. Under mild conditions on the parameters of the linearized Turing's model, we prove the equivalence between controllability of the linearized Turing's model and controllability of a Laplace dynamic system with agents of first order dynamics. When the graph is a grid graph or a cylinder grid graph, we then give precisely the minimal number of control nodes and a corresponding control node set such that the Laplace dynamic systems on these graphs with agents of first order dynamics are controllable. The day time nap sleep has the significant prophylactic function to our health and working efficiency. In this study, the prediction of sleep level for day time short nap was investigated. The ultimate purpose was to develop the automatic analysis technique for nap sleep interpretation. Firstly, the conditional probabilities of sleep stage awake, stage 1 and stage 2 were calculated for the consecutive data segments based on a set of parameters. Secondly, the sleep level of next data segment was predicted according to the obtained conditional probabilities. The prediction of sleep level reflected the future sleep tendency and was helpful for automatic nap sleep interpretation.

In this paper, the outlier-resistant distributed filtering problem based on amplify-and-forward relays is studied for discrete time-varying nonlinear multi-rate systems with multiple measurement delays over sensor networks, where the augmenting method is utilized to transform the multi-rate system into a single rate system. An amplify-and-forward(AF) relay is set between the sensor and the filter to extend the transmission distance of the signal and ensure the communication transmission *** outlier-resistant distributed filter is constructed by introducing a saturation function to limit the innovations, then the upper bound on the filtering error covariance is obtained and the filter gain is designed to minimize such obtained upper bound. Finally,a numerical example is used to show the effectiveness of the outlier-resistant distributed filtering algorithm based on AF relays.

Complex networks have, in recent years, brought many innovative impacts to large-scale systems. However, great challenges also come forth due to distinct complex situations and imperative requirements in human life nowadays. This paper attempts to present an overview of recent progress of synchronization of complex dynamical networks and its applications. We focus on robustness of synchronization, controllability and observability of complex networks and synchronization of multiplex networks. Then, we review several applications of synchronization in complex networks, especially in neuroscience and power grids. The present limitations are summarized and future trends are explored and tentatively highlighted. © 2014 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved.

The fault detection problem is addressed in this paper for a class of state-saturated systems with time-delay and nonlinearities under communication *** particular,the phenomenon of state saturation is introduced to characterize the physical limitations of the ***,the event-triggered communication strategy is adopted to achieve the purpose of saving network resources and preventing data ***,an event-based fault detection filter is *** selecting the appropriate Lyapunov functional,several sufficient conditions are obtained such that the addressed augmented system is globally asymptotically stable with a satisfactory H performance ***,the filter parameters are gained through solving certain matrix ***,the effectiveness of the proposed fault detection approach is demonstrated by a numerical example.

In this paper,the distributed state estimation method with resilient attenuation feature is proposed for time-varying fractional-order complex networks under encoding-decoding *** encoding-decoding-induced dynamic errors for distinct nodes are characterized by the truncated Gaussian *** order to compensate the effects induced by encodingdecoding scheme,the variances of encoding-decoding-induced dynamic errors are considered in process of designing the resilient distributed estimation *** particular,the upper bounds of updated estimation error covariances are derived ***,the upper bounds are minimized by constructing the gain matrices at each sampling ***,a sufficient condition is provided to guarantee the boundedness of estimation error dynamics in the mean-square ***,the validity of distributed resilient state estimation scheme is demonstrated by a simulation example.
