The re-emission of dimethylamine (DMA), as a famous malodorous volatile organic compound (VOC), exhausted from various industries receives emerging concerns. Herein, a metal-free carbocatalyst derived from waste masks was developed to inhibit DMA re-emission via activating peroxymonosulfate (PMS). The optimal inhibition efficiency was around 99%, 85-fold higher than that without any carbocatalysts and PMS. Such enhancement was ascribed to the rapid conversion of DMA ( kobs = 0.67 min-1, 4 min) into non-volatile and lower toxic substances (NO3− , NO2− and aliphatic acids) by electron transfer and singlet oxygenation. Experiments combined with correlation analysis and theoretical calculations unveiled that the intensified graphitization degree promoted the electron migration from DMA to the carbocatalyst/PMS* complex due to the enhanced conductivity and elevated redox potential, and PMS preferentially absorbed on the electron-rich C=O and deprotonated COO− groups rather than C-OH and COOH of carbocatalyst and then released SO5•− for the generation of 1O2 . Based on the theory, tuning the graphitization degree and amount of C=O and COO− groups via a simple annealing strategy triggered a shift from singlet oxygenation to predominantly direct electron transfer pathway, thus achieving optimal suppression efficiency of DMA re-emission. Finally, electrical energy per order (EE/O) analysis demonstrated our technology had a relatively low EE/O value (3.56 kWh/m3 ) and cost (0.47 $/m3 ). Considering the high efficiency and low cost of carbocatalytic PMS system endowed with clear mechanism and controllable properties, this work, therefore, pioneers an unparalleled approach for the industrial governance of effluvial VOCs treatment, and provides new insights into the tunable nonradical oxidation mechanism of carbocatalytic PMS activation. © 2022, The Authors. For the practical applications of CO2 sorbents, more studies on pellet- rather than powder-type sorbents is highly demanded. In addition, high sorption kinetics, excellent cycling stability, and cheap raw precursors are far more important than its initial CO2 uptake value to certain extent. KNaTiO3 is a promising high-temperature CO2 sorbent due to its high CO2 sorption capacity and excellent cyclic stability. In order to promote its practical application in industry, low-price titanium ore was selected for the synthesis of KNaTiO3, and the optimized KR3 sorbent maintained a rapid and reversible sorption capacity of 15.5 wt% after 100 cycles. Spherical pellets were fabricated by extrusion-spheronization method with cellulose and alumisol additives. The optimal pellets exhibited a relative compression strength of 4.15 MPa and an attrition rate of 1.2 wt%, maintained a sorption capacity of 14.3 wt% after 50 cycles. It also showed superior CO2 capture kinetics, reaching a high CO2 removal rate of 92.5% within only 4 min (under 20% CO2). The role and mechanism of cellulose as pore-former were explored by SEM analysis and diffusion model fitting. In all, the high CO2 uptake, superior sorption kinetics, excellent cyclic stability, physico-chemical properties and the low cost ensure this newly developed KR3 pellets a highly promising high-temperature CO2 sorbents for practical applications in industries. © 2023, The Authors. Metal organic frameworks (MOFs) have already been widely used in the field of gas adsorption and *** combination of various organic ligands and metal ions results in large MOF libraries with different topological structures. However, such large structural databases make it difficult to screen out MOF materials with high adsorption performance towards a given gas to establish statistical pictures through experiments or molecular simulations. In this work, we studied and built machine learning (ML) models based on the hypothetical MOF (hMOF) database. A gradient-boosted regression trees (GBRT) model with 1000 samples can predict the methane adsorption capacity of more than 130,000 hMOFs with high accuracy. A fast high-throughput screening on the entire database was performed using the constructed regression model, which extracts several molecular fragments from the top 1% of materials with the largest methane adsorption capacity. Careful analysis of the chemical structure of these fragments indicates that MOF materials containing cyano, hydroxyl, carboxyl and/or aromatic rings may possess high adsorption performance. The electrostatic potential distribution of these fragments was obtained at the ab initio computational level and was highlighted to be another important descriptor. We further extended the GBRT predictor to diverse MOF libraries including tobacco MOF (tobmof) and CoRE MOF. The molecular fragments extracted from the ML-based screening on the real CoRE MOF database as well as the corresponding electrostatic properties were compared with the results of hMOFs, which provides new insight into the design of MOF materials. © 2023, The Authors. The aim of this paper is to prove the existence and smoothness of stable and unstable invariant manifolds for a stochastic delayed partial differential equation of parabolic type. The stochastic delayed partial differential equation is firstly transformed into a random delayed partial differential equation by a conjugation, which is then recast into a Hilbert space. For the auxiliary equation, the variation of constants formula holds and we show the existence of Lipschitz continuous stable and unstable manifolds by the Lyapunov-Perron method. Subsequently, we prove the smoothness of these invariant manifolds under appropriate spectral gap condition by carefully investigating the smoothness of auxiliary equation, after which, we obtain the invariant manifolds of the original equation by projection and inverse transformation. Eventually, we illustrate the obtained theoretical results by their application to a stochastic single-species population model. Copyright © 2023, The Authors. All rights reserved.

Random attractors for a stochastic nonlocal delayed reaction-diffusion equation on a semi-infinite interval

The aim of this paper is to prove the existence and qualitative property of random attractors for a stochastic nonlocal delayed reaction-diffusion equation (SNDRDE) on a semi-infinite interval with a Dirichlet boundary condition on the finite end. This equation models the spatial-temporal evolution of the mature individuals for a two-stage species whose juvenile and adults both diffuse that lives on a semi-infinite domain and subject to random perturbations. By transforming the SNDRDE into a random evolution equation with delay, by means of a stationary conjugate transformation, we first establish the global existence and uniqueness of solutions to the equation, after which we show the solutions generate a random dynamical system. Then, we deduce uniform a priori estimates of the solutions and show the existence of bounded random absorbing sets. Subsequently, we prove the pullback asymptotic compactness of the random dynamical system generated by the SNDRDE with respect to the compact open topology, and hence obtain the existence of random attractors. At last, it is proved that the random attractor is an exponentially attracting stationary solution under appropriate conditions. Copyright © 2023, The Authors. All rights reserved.

Study on the Hg0 and NH3 oxidation performance of copper modified attapulgite catalysts

A copper-modified attapulgite (Cu3-ATP) catalyst with both mercury oxidation and ammonia oxidation activities was prepared by an improved wet impregnation method. Several characterization including SEM, H2-TPR and NH3-TPD were performed on it, and its mercury oxidation and ammonia oxidation performance were tested at 150-400℃. The results show that the copper species is successfully loaded on ATP surface, which significantly improves the redox ability of the catalyst, increases the strong acid sites and partial strong acid sites on the surface, and thus promotes the oxidation of Hg0 and NH3. HCl plays an important role in Hg0 oxidation. High temperature is not conducive to the Hg0 oxidation reaction, but can promote the oxidation of NH3. At 350℃, the oxidation efficiencies of Hg0 and NH3 over Cu3-ATP are both above 90%. Experiments on the influencing factors show that NH3 has an obvious inhibitory effect on mercury oxidation at high space velocity, while low concentrations of Hg0 and HCl have no significant influence on ammonia oxidation. When the gas hourly space velocity (GHSV) is lower than 5×104 h-1, Cu3-ATP can simultaneously oxidize NH3 and Hg0. In addition, the mercury oxidation reaction shows good sulfur resistance and water resistance, but SO2 has a certain inhibitory effect on ammonia oxidation. © 2020, Editorial Department of Journal of Shenyang University of Technology. In this paper, we consider the problem of vehicular positioning enhancement with emerging connected vehicles (CV) technologies. In order to actually describe the scenario, the Interacting Multiple Model (IMM) filter is used for depicting varies of observation models. A CV-enhanced IMM filtering approach is proposed to locate a vehicle by data fusion from both coarse GPS data and the Doppler frequency shifts (DFS) measured from dedicated short-range communications (DSRC) radio signals. Fatigue driving might affect the traffic safety when the vehicles are on the cruising state in highway. Trying to solve this problem, this paper uses the movement pattern of the fish to the vehicles fleet, and develops a model of vehicle group with realistic restrictions based on the existed fish algorithms, the mobile behavioral model and cluster behavior model, and then demonstrates the feasibility of applying the fish behavior to the cooperative movement of vehicle groups through analyzing the trajectory, velocity and spacing of vehicles. © 2018, ICST Institute for Computer Sciences, Social Informatics and Telecommunications Engineering.

Vehicular Ad-Hoc Network (VANET) has emerged as an increasingly dominant technology for future connected vehicle and vehicular networks, where the focus of the development of VANET lies in the standardization of message transmission and dissemination via multi-hop broadcasting. However, the current communication protocols concerning VANET face many challenges, including data flooding and collision, transmission delay and other problems. Most of the challenges are closely related to next-hop selection. Therefore, this paper proposes a new routing protocol named REliable and Fast Forwarding (REFF) to optimize the selection of nodes in VANET. In this protocol, node filtering and node evaluation are two main steps. Distance between previous node and candidate node, relative velocity between previous node and candidate nodes, included angle between direction of target node’s velocity and candidate node’s velocity and transmission power of candidate node are adopted as indexes to help select a specific node as the next hop using Technique for Order of Preference by Similarity to Ideal Solution (TOPSIS). By using this technique, the number of candidates as next-hop is largely reduced, avoiding the data flooding and resulting transmission relay. In addition, simulations based on experiments are done to verify the feasibility. The results show that message achieves a faster and more reliable transmission using REFF. © 2018, ICST Institute for Computer Sciences, Social Informatics and Telecommunications Engineering.

This paper proposes a Hardware-in-the-Loop sim-ulation (HiLs) tested via square Helmholtz coils as a relative magnetic field generator. In technical terms, the HiLs is an indispensable tool for engineering design during rapid proto-typing of attitude determination and control algorithms for the turning parameters that control the attitude of the satellite, since most of the satellite's mission relies on its attitude, making this system one of the most essential to the satellite's operation. More-over, performing controlled experiments with the parameters for developing adaptive control algorithms improves the overall efficiency of the satellite's kinematic system. The conceptual design of a proposed system architecture can be composed of the electrical currents of 2.4-meter square Helmholtz coils produced by a low-level microcontroller equipped with a DC-motor driver by a pulse-width modulation (PWM) signal through real-time connection to an orbit propagator using a high-level computer. This research focuses on the attitude dynamic of satellites through the interaction between the Earth's magnetic field (EMF) and the magnetotorque in the satellite. To apply this phenomenon, the intensity and the direction of the magnetic field must be identified through Biot-Savart's law. Along with the EMF, the reference position is calculated using the standard general perturbations satellite orbit model (SGP4), and the intensity is modeled based on coefficients from the 13 th edition of the International Geo-magnetic Reference Field (IGRF). Therefore, this paper presents a detailed development of a HiLs testbed for distributed attitude determination and control systems (hardware and software co-design, protocol, and control theory).
