In some cases, global businesses expansion leads to human-related problems due to cultural differences between investor countries and investee countries. This study focuses on such problems in the area of information security. Potential problems which British companies may face in rising economies are discussed here. Russia, India and China, where UK is one of the key investors, are examined. Potential problems were developed by using Hofstede's framework of culture and the recently proposed theory of Level of Potential (LoP) was adopted to predict their magnitudes. Three online surveys were conducted in Russia, India and China to evaluate the severity of the potential problems and the practicability of LoP. It is proved that the theory of LoP can predict problems for British companies in economically rising business environments to a certain extent. The results reveal that the problem of "Unintentional sharing of confidential information " has the highest severity in Russia and India, while the problem of "Using any means to reach goals owing to high competition" has the highest severity in China.

The duopoly model of vendors on a linear open city is developed in order to analyze equilibrium location of vendors and city residents. It is shown that at the equilibrium vendors locate at either the city edge or city center, with positive distance each other. It is also shown that the equilibrium vendor location is too far from the city center and the city size is too large comparing to the total land rent maximization situation. It is also shown that the location regulation with land rent subsidy for vendors are effective in order to improve the city welfare.

The Six Sigma (SS) Methodology (DMAIC/DMAIE/DMADO) can be implemented in both manufacturing and service organizations with some particular differences. The three different venues of SS and their respective acronyms shown before are: operational (Define-Measure-Analyze-Improve-Control), transactional (Define-Measure-Analysis-Innovate-Embed) and design (Define-Measure-Analyze- Design-Optimize). In the recent past, some variations were made to SS methodology in order to involve the challenges and the mission of the companies. A Recognize phase was added as an initial phase for the SS methodology. The Recognize phase is the one responsible for achieving the proper identification of a project in a specific area of opportunity. It is the foundation of the rest of the phases and its successful appliance. The correct diagnosis of a SS project can provide long lasting results to improve the objectives of the company. Schedule delays commonly appear in construction projects and result in delay claim progressively. Several studies have proposed various schedule delay analysis methodologies. By using the as-planned and as-built schedules, most previous studies focus on the impact calculation of identified delay events on project duration. They consider the schedule variances between the as-planned and as-built schedules, but ignore to connect delay evidence to as-built schedule. Lost productivity, one essential delay cause, is usually experienced by a contractor while accomplishing its works less than planned rate of production. In a construction project, a contractor usually suffers certain damages by lost productivity caused by the owner or the third party, but the schedule impacts from the damages are not easily evaluated. How to calculate the schedule impacts by lost productivity plays a key role for solving a delay claim with lost productivity. This study tries to propose a delay analysis method for considering the schedule impact of lost productivity. With a simplified case study, the proposed method can be used as a tool to calculate the schedule impacts of schedule delays with lost productivity.

This paper provides a new approach to estimate the software reliability with the data sets obtained from the design review activity. The approach employs structure equation modeling (SEM) which can be considered as an extension of a multiple regression analysis. We discuss the characteristics of SEM approach and show how we construct the appropriate model. By using the actual data sets from upper process of the real software development, we try to estimate the software reliability at the early stage of the software development.
