This paper presents a framework, aiming to develop the mass customization for textile and apparel industries in Thailand. The developed model as presented is the relationship of the connection pertaining to customers’ needs at industrial levels, most of which are Original Design Manufacturer (OEM), a type of textile and apparel business. The outstanding of OEM is the presentation of newly created designs to customers with a variety of products. Importantly, in order to gain such effective production management, an appropriate administrative system with high flexibility, efficient production (Small Lot Size), and punctual delivery is crucially required. Synthesis of musical instruments or human voice is a time consuming process which requires theoretical and experimental knowledge about the synthesis engine. Commonly, performers need to deal with synthesizer interfaces and a process of trial and error for creating musical sounds similar to a target sound. This drawback can be overcome by adjusting automatically the synthesizer parameters using optimization algorithms. In this paper a hybrid particle swarm optimization (PSO) algorithm is proposed to solve the frequency modulation (FM) matching synthesis problem. The proposed algorithm takes advantage of a shuffle process for exchanging information between particles and applies the selective passive congregation and the opposition-based learning approaches to preserve swarm diversity. Both approaches for injecting diversity are based on simple operators, preserving the easy implementation philosophy of the particle swarm optimization. The proposed hybrid particle swarm optimization algorithm was validated for a three-nested FM synthesizer, which represents a 6-dimensional multimodal optimization problem with strong epistasis. Simulation results revealed that the proposed algorithm presented promising results in terms of quality of solutions.

As unmanned systems become standard equipment, the ability to monitor and manage system health is not just an enabling technology, but is required in order to meet platform availability and supportability goals. Its unique requirements can affect the selection of hardware, the strategy for collecting and processing data, and the integration of healthrelated information with other subsystems. The Open System Architecture for Condition Based Maintenance (OSA-CBM) is a standard aimed to reduce the development and integration cost of Integrated Vehicle Health management (IVHM) systems and to achieve a higher level of performance that includes totally integrated diagnostics and prognostic capabilities. However, despite the well-known advantages of the approach, there have been a few implementation examples of the standard. In this paper, we discuss the applicability of the data centric publish/subscribe model for the design and development of OSA-CBM systems. Computational power and bandwidth are always the key constraints in IVHM application deployments. The publish/subscribe software model is used to form a fundamental structure of the OSA-CBM software, both module's internal components and inter-module (middleware) communications. The primary benefit of publish/subscribe interaction style is that it abstracts the message transport from the software components or modules and allows them to be uncoupled. The module can add/change/remove internal components from the internal publish/subscribe data domain, called blackboard, and subscribe to local add/change/remove notification. Module blackboards are to assure scalability and reconfigurable. The resulting OSA-CBM design provides software enabling capability to distribute/reconfigure IVHM data processing algorithms across the hardware platforms to meet the required computation and bandwidth constraints. Effective exploitation of the application-specific parallel patterns and computation operations through their direct implementation in hardware is the base for construction of high-quality application-specific (re-)configurable application specific instruction set processors (ASIPs) and hardware accelerators for modern highly-demanding applications. Although it receives a lot of attention from the researchers and practitioners, a very important problem of hardware reuse in ASIP and accelerator synthesis is clearly underestimated and does not get enough attention in the published research. This paper is an effect of an industry and academic collaborative research. It analyses the problem of hardware sharing, shows its high practical relevance, as well as a big influence of hardware sharing on the major circuit and system parameters, and its importance for the multi-objective optimization and tradeoff exploitation. It also demonstrates that the state-of-the-art synthesis tools do not sufficiently address this problem and gives several guidelines related to enhancement of the hardware reuse.

This paper describes a design of an educational platform for a mobile learning architecture, which is a state of the an topic in distance education. The product will allow users to interact in an efficient, flexible, and transparent fashion with a web-based education environment, in this case Module Object-Oriented Dynamic Learning Environment (Moodle), using Android mobile devices. In order to provide a strong and lasting architecture, the Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) methodology is used given that it allows easy software re-utilization as well as integration of heterogeneous services. The architecture is based on web services implemented with Representational State Transfer (REST), as it has been demonstrated to be lighter and less consuming than other protocols, for devices with limited resources such as mobile devices. Web services provide the communication means between the server side and the client side of the architecture, whereas agents are used to deliver the services itself. The authors propose the development of an environment that facilitates the integration of various educational resources to support m-learning. An important aspect of the proposal is the offering of a tool to provide customized alerts for students and teachers, enabling them to remain updated about activities taking place in the courses.

IEEE802.11 RTS/CTS handshake to avoid a packet collision with the transmissions from hidden terminals. Although RTS/CTS handshake effectively reduces packet collisions with hidden terminals, it also increases transmission overhead of IEEE802.11. In this paper, we discuss transmission overhead of IEEE802.11 induced by RTS/CTS handshake, and propose a new adaptive RTS/CTS control method on the basis of existence of hidden terminals, for mitigating transmission overhead ofIEEE802.11. Results from computer simulations confirm that our proposed method improve throughput performance in around the saturated traffic environment.
