We research the multimedia information hiding (MIH) which is a technology to overlay digital information on multimedia contents such as picture, sound, document, etc. As application to disaster management of MIH, we have developed a new technology called "PAIH" (Public Address Information Hiding) which is a technology to overlay information such as position or destination on siren sound of urgent vehicles. Siren sound is allowed to degrade of sound quality, but PAIH is required to decode correct information from siren sound with pitch shift (Doppler effect) or under noisy environment.

This paper proposes planning and scheduling approaches for an Arial Cable Car System project to be undertaken in the city of Sharjah, UJAE. Being a new project with lack of data and minimal experience in the country and region, it's considered a unique one. Fuzzy scheduling is introduced in order to estimate the project completion time with minimal sensitivity to uncertainties. In this research, three models are assessed for their applicability to the Arial Cable Car project scheduling. The models proposed are two fuzzy (Generalized Mean Model: GMIM and Generalized Mean Integration Representation Model: GMIR) and one non-fuzzy probabilistic model (Triangular Stochastic Duration: TSD). Those models succeed in incorporating experts' biasness, confidence level and numerically translated experience in the models for fair assessment and comparison. The key contribution of this paper is the study of the effect of different experts' estimates and their biasness on completion time.

This study focused on pre-fabricated wooden doors and their supply chain, which have all of its components pre-assembled by the supplier. The literature indicates that supply chain management in construction has four roles. One concerns the transfer of activities from the site to the supply chain to take advantage of better conditions at the fabricator's end. This role assumes that fabricators are in a better environment to perform certain tasks and deliver better products that can be quickly installed on site, as the product is pre-assembled. This is the first working hypothesis tested in study. A second working hypothesis is that off-site prefabricated doors have short lead times for fabrication and on-site installation and present fewer problems during installation when compared to traditional doors. The two-phase research comprised a preliminary study and two in-depth case studies about pre-fabricated wooden doors. Wooden doors presented problems related to the installation and final product quality regardless of the type of project. Some advantages of prefabricated elements were lost due lack of trust between contractors and suppliers, lack of consideration of preconditions necessary for successful site installation, and lack of standardization and tolerance management resulted in suboptimal solutions during the installation phase.
