Encryption is a well-studied technique for protecting the confidentiality of sensitive data. However, encrypting relational databases affects the performance during query processing. Preserving the order of the encrypted values is a useful technique to perform queries over the encrypted database with a reasonable overhead. Unfortunately, the existing order preserving encryption schemes are not secure against known plaintext attacks and statistical attacks. In those attacks, it is assumed that the attacker has prior knowledge about plaintext values or statistical information on the plaintext domain. This paper presents a novel database encryption scheme called MV-POPES (Multivalued - Partial Order Preserving Encryption Scheme), which allows privacy-preserving queries over encrypted databases with an improved security level. Our idea is to divide the plaintext domain into many partitions and randomize them in the encrypted domain. Then, one integer value is encrypted to different multiple values to prevent statistical attacks. At the same time, MV-POPES preserves the order of the integer values within the partitions to allow comparison operations to be directly applied on encrypted data. Our scheme is robust against known plaintext attacks and statistical attacks. MV-POPES experiments show that security for sensitive data can be achieved with reasonable overhead, establishing the practicability of the scheme.

engineering education was modeled as a process in which students take courses to learn and eventually graduate. Attrition i.e. loss of engineering students is considered a failure. The objective is to retain the students currently enrolled and increase graduation rates, which would result in a more efficient process of producing well-qualified engineers to meet the needs of today's world. This research was focused on implementing Six Sigma methodology in assessing the retention of engineering students at West Virginia University, and recommend improvement strategies in the educational process and retention policies to improve the graduation rate for entering full-time freshmen.

In this study, junction strength, stress distribution of geogrids and the test improvement of wide-width tensile strength were interpreted by FEA program. Used by Visual FEA/Edu program, it effected an inspection of evidence that compared actual test data with FEA program data. Stress distribution effect appeared in transverse ribs, Warp knitted type was better than Woven type in stress distribution effect, contour image in FEA program indicated change of stress in adjacent point and the transformation was predicted by FEA simulation. In wide-width tensile strength test, though stress and data in transformation were related to the actual data was confirmed, but it is good that data in actual test utilized in FEA because the result data was different from mesh data made by FEA program.

We research the multimedia information hiding (MIH) which is a technology to overlay digital information on multimedia contents such as picture, sound, document, etc. As application to disaster management of MIH, we have developed a new technology called "PAIH" (Public Address Information Hiding) which is a technology to overlay information such as position or destination on siren sound of urgent vehicles. This paper proposes planning and scheduling approaches for an Arial Cable Car System project to be undertaken in the city of Sharjah, UJAE. Being a new project with lack of data and minimal experience in the country and region, it's considered a unique one. Fuzzy scheduling is introduced in order to estimate the project completion time with minimal sensitivity to uncertainties. In this research, three models are assessed for their applicability to the Arial Cable Car project scheduling. The models proposed are two fuzzy (Generalized Mean Model: GMIM and Generalized Mean Integration Representation Model: GMIR) and one non-fuzzy probabilistic model (Triangular Stochastic Duration: TSD). Those models succeed in incorporating experts' biasness, confidence level and numerically translated experience in the models for fair assessment and comparison. The key contribution of this paper is the study of the effect of different experts' estimates and their biasness on completion time.
