Impact of flood depth on traffic volume in two different zones of the Bangkok road network was investigated using traffic data obtained from probe vehicle trajectories.A Macroscopic Fundamental Diagram(MFD)was utilized to compare traffic flow rates across two road network zones in the city for a variety of flood depths,namely 0-5 cm,5-10 cm,10-15 cm,15-30 cm,and more than 30 *** of empirical analysis over an observation period of one year as 2019 showed that flood depths had a strong correlation with the MFD parameters of free-flow speed,maximum flow,and traffic jam *** particular,road floods greatly reduced average maximum flow across the inner city road network in *** floods had a significant impact on traffic characteristics of urban road networks.

Cyber-Physical-Social systems bridge the gap between social resource organization and distribution, and give birth to Society 5.0, which represents a transformative vision aimed at realizing the human-centric paradigm for more efficient and effective sustainable development. In this paper, we discuss the decentralized paradigm in fostering human needs-driven smart services, in line with Maslow’s hierarchy of needs theory. Societies 5.0 is committed to optimizing the use of natural, artificial, and social resources by enhancing democratic participation and ensuring that decision-making processes are more transparent, reliable, and aligned with the needs of the populace in sustainable ways. Moreover, our discussion extends to how Society 5.0’s principles correlate with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), providing a framework that supports health, education, and poverty reduction, among other targets. This approach also aligns with the Human Development Index (HDI), reinforcing the notion that technological progress in Society 5.0 does not overshadow but rather complements and enhances human values, paving a synergistic path towards sustainable development that is both advanced and fundamentally human-centric.

This paper presents a circuit-based modeling of MPPT controller for lead-acid battery charging in PV standalone systems using MATLAB/Simulink. The LLC resonant converter is employed as the DC-DC converter for the charge controller due to its efficiency advantages. However, most well-known MPPT algorithms are designed for PWM converters, whereas the LLC resonant converter uses PFM. Applying a PWM-based MPPT method to an LLC converter could might cause the loss of its soft switching characteristics. Therefore, an MPPT algorithm based on PFM is necessary. This paper proposes an optimal frequency control MPPT algorithm that adjusts the frequency offset around the resonant frequency using an improved P&O method. Simulation results are provided to demonstrate the algorithm’s validity and its capability to track the maximum power point under varying solar irradiance and temperature conditions.

Parking into small berths remains difficult for unskilled drivers. Researchers had proposed different automatic parking systems to solve this problem. The first kind of strategies(called parking trajectory planning) designs a detailed reference trajectory that links the start and ending points of a special parking task and let the vehicle track this reference trajectory so as to park into the berth. The second kind of strategies(called guidance control) just characterizes several regimes of driving actions as well as the important switching points in certain rule style and let the vehicle follows the pre-selected series of actions so as to park into the berth. Parking guidance control is simpler than parking trajectory planning. However, no studies thoroughly validated parking guidance control before. In this paper, a new automatic parking method is presented, which could characterize the desired control actions directly. Then the feasibility is examined carefully. Tests show that a simple parking guidance control strategy can work in most parallel parking tasks, if the available parking berth is not too small. This finding helps to build more concise automatic parking systems that can efficiently guide human drivers.
