The purpose of this research is to explore how the design of buildings and spaces affects our *** study examines how our visual surroundings and emotional responses are *** hypothesis is that people’s emotions are influenced by what they see in the buildings,spaces,and furniture around *** personality type may have a unique emotional response to their *** study has three main goals:to analyze the built environment,to assess psychological well-being,and to conduct neuroscience *** built environment analysis is divided into two groups:architecture design analysis and street view design *** psychological well-being analysis identifies three key *** neuroscience analysis shows that rectangular shapes combined with linear ornamentation and calming colors create the most comforting building *** most comfortable street view includes an abundance of greenery with sun-shading *** conclusion,the study confirms that architecture affects our *** factors that contribute to our comfort are stored in our mind and body over *** mood and emotional state are influenced by what we see in our *** questionnaire and experiment results support these conclusions.

The main idea of the project is to increase the service life (resource) of electric brushes of electric machines (additionally by 30-50 %), depending on their design. The recommended electric brush is fundamentally different in design and service life from the existing brushes. This electric brush is a composite brush, while the existing commercially available brushes are one-piece. Chemical composition and proportions of components of composite electric brushes, their sizes do not differ from serial ones. The design parameters of the electric machine and brush holder also remain unchanged. This confirms the absence of the slightest technological risk in the operation of the new type of electric brushes. Let us briefly consider the main content of technical diagnostics. Technical diagnostics studies methods of obtaining and evaluating diagnostic information, diagnostic models and decision-making algorithms. The purpose of technical diagnostics is to improve the reliability and resource of technical systems. © 2024 IEEE.

In this study, we implemented learning-based and hybrid methodologies for maritime obstacle tracking leveraging RADAR (RAdio Detection And Ranging) data. The learning-based method employs a deep learning algorithm to predict the state of the obstacle. It is compared with the EKF-based method, which utilizes an extended Kalman filter extensively used in obstacle tracking. Moreover, we propose a hybrid method that combines the strengths of both the learning-based and EKF-based methods to compensate for their respective shortcomings. Experimental RADAR data from field tests were utilized for validation, illustrating that the hybrid method improves tracking accuracy compared to the EKFbased approach. © 2024 by the International Society of Offshore and Polar Engineers (ISOPE).

The philosophy of building energy management is going through a paradigm change from traditional,often inefficient,user-controlled systems to one that is centrally automated with the aid of IoT-enabled *** this context,occupants’perceived control and building automation may seem to be in *** inquiry of this study is rooted in a proposition that while building automation and centralized control systems are assumed to provide indoor comfort and conserve energy use,limiting occupants’control over their work environment may result in dissatisfaction,and in turn decrease *** assessing this hypothesis,data from the post-occupancy evaluation survey of a smart building in a university in Australia was used to analyze the relationships between perceived control,satisfaction,and perceived *** structural equation modeling,we have found a positive direct effect of occupants’perceived control on overall satisfaction with their working ***,perceived control exerts an influence on perceived productivity through ***,a field experiment conducted in the same building revealed the potential impact that occupant controllability can have on energy *** changed the default light settings from automatic on-and-offto manual-on and automatic-off,letting occupants choose themselves whether to switch the light on or ***,about half of the participants usually kept the lights off,preferring daylight in their *** also resulted in a reduction in lighting electricity use by 17.8%without any upfront investment and major technical *** findings emphasize the important role of perceived control on occupant satisfaction and productivity,as well as on the energy-saving potential of the user-in-the-loop automation of buildings.

The stability assessment of construction vehicles, which are part of a constantly growing market, is of a high importance for safety and working efficiency. For such vehicles, the stability is mainly impacted by the carried payload. In this paper, a state of the art payload estimation method, based on simplified motion equations, is further improved by coupling it with accurate real-time multibody modelling. An example, that allows to reduce the important impact of joints damping on the payload estimation method, is developed and validated in this paper. A reduction of the payload estimation moving window root mean square error from 12.8% to 2.9% is obtained. Finally, the tractor multibody digital-twin is integrated in a real-time system on a physical setup, allowing to process the signals of the tractor and provide an easy to interpret visualization of the vehicle stability to the operator. The purpose of this study is to present a method for decreasing energy usage and enhancing building performance in a hot and dry climate. This article examines the impact of various factors on a building's energy consumption in Kashan city, located in a hot and dry climate, using a passive design approach. ClimateConsultant software is utilized to assess the recommended solutions for the city, and climate design is implemented based on these solutions. The central courtyard is identified as an important and suitable solution for this city, and the optimal size of the courtyard is assessed using DesignBuilder software to determine its impact on energy consumption. After selecting the building's length, width, orientation, and the optimal form of the central courtyard in Kashan city, appropriate materials are chosen for the climate and a schedule is created for air, temperature, heating, cooling, and ventilation systems. Simulations are conducted using DesignBuilder software to assess their sensitivity in different seasons. The results demonstrate that by making changes and optimizing these variables, energy consumption for the entire building is reduced from 240.44 to 132.76 kWh m2 compared to the initial design state for a building without a courtyard and at ground level. This substantial reduction in energy usage highlights the significant impact that changes and optimizations in building design can have on reducing energy consumption in hot and dry climates. © 2024 IEEE.
