It is interesting that despite its long-term and widespread use in China,relatively little is known about the operational characteristics of a variable approach lane(VAL)in real *** one month of inductive-loop detector data at ten dynamic approaches(intersection approaches with dynamic lane assignment)from different intersections in Hangzhou,China,this paper presents the results of a study materializing the flow characteristics of variable approach lanes by comparing them with adjacent normal-flow lanes under various operating *** effectiveness of the results was examined in a case-control analysis by integrating 12 fixed approaches(without variable lane)as *** was found that the difference or similarity of flow rate between the variable lane and the normally-flowing lane differs under a variety of traffic volume,time-of-day,modeof-operation,and overhead lane-use guidance sign(OHS)location *** study also revealed that while naturally there may be a difference in the flow rates between referencing lanes at fixed approaches,the flow difference percentage(FDP)at dynamic approaches is significantly higher.

This study investigates the experiences of married undergraduate students at a Midwestern religious liberal arts institution, with a focus on health consequences of early marriage and strategic implications for biotechnology firms. The study aims to understand the impact of marriage on student engagement and health, examining how married life, interactions with peers, family, and faculty, and involvement in academic and social activities affect students' well-being. Employing a grounded theory approach, the research analyzes the adjustment to married life among college students and its effects on their academic commitment. The findings reveal that marriage introduces complexities such as increased responsibilities and altered social interactions, which could potentially influence students' mental health and academic performance. These factors are critical for biotechnology firms that are developing health and wellness solutions targeted at the college demographic. The study shows that only a small percentage of undergraduate students are married, indicating unique challenges they face, including balancing academic responsibilities with marital life. The relationship quality among these students emerged as a potential factor influencing their academic success and well-being, an aspect crucial for biotechnology companies focusing on mental health interventions. This paper presents a superhydrophobic melamine(ME)sponge(ME-g-PLMA)prepared via high-energy radiation-induced in situ covalent grafting of long-alkyl-chain dodecyl methacrylate(LMA)onto an ME sponge for efficient oil–water *** obtained ME-g-PLMA sponge had an excellent pore structure with superhydrophobic(water contact angle of 154°)and superoleophilic *** can absorb various types of oils up to 66–168 times its *** ME-g-PLMA sponge can continuously separate oil slicks in water by connecting a pump or separating oil underwater with a gravity-driven *** addition,it maintained its highly hydrophobic properties even after long-term immersion in different corrosive solutions and repeated oil *** modified ME-g-PLMA sponge exhibited excellent separation properties and potential for oil spill cleanup.
