One of the most significant consequences of short circuits and single phase to earth faults in 6-10 kV cable networks is cable insulation heating, which provides its further deflagration and damage of neighboring power supply systems' elements, which steps up consequential injury. Cable lines overheating during current overload leads to rapid insulation deterioration and cable lines damage rate increasing;similarly, cable heating during single phase to earth faults leads to its transformation to phase-to-phase short circuit, which requires faulted cable line emergency shutdown by relay protection devices operation and, moreover, can aid in cable deflagration when it is installed inside cable tunnels. Reference documents contain several calculation methods for cable line temperature definition both in steady-state and transient modes [1,2]. The main disadvantages of these methods are sufficiently restricted application sphere (only for symmetrical modes) and impossibility for accurate records of thermal conductivity and other thermophysical and geometric parameters of the researched cable line and external environment (soil, air, etc). For the solution of this problem an approach, which was described by F.H. Van Wormer in the 1950s [3] and also mentioned in [4-6], exists. According to this approach, the heated cable line and external environment are presented in the form of equivalent RC-branches, which simulates the process of transition and accumulation of heat. Nevertheless, during composition of such models an issue of computational space size and appropriate sampling rate of elementary RC-branches definition occurs. The model of cable line and external environment on the basis of so-called 'Markov's chains' [for example, 5] is also the case of interest, because it will allow to research qualitative characteristics of the system 'cable line-the external environment' in the context of its electromagnetic heating. This article presents a way to implement a collection of fitness moves on an iCub (Cognitive Universal Body) robot, whose objective is to act as a fitness instructor and interact with humans. Due to the advantages of a simulation medium, the robot is simulated in the Gazebo simulator, on The Construct online platform. The control is done using Robot Operating System (ROS) with PID controllers for the robot joints, with the proportional, integral and derivative parameters tuned using a Genetic Algorithm. The scripts for the collection of moves and the algorithm used to tune the PID controllers are written in Python.

The present manuscript introduces a classification for power take-off (PTO) diagnosis in Wave Energy Converter (WEC) farms. The suggested strategy has been tested on the Mutriku Multiple Oscillating Water Column-based wave power plant in order to reduce the Levelized Cost of Energy (LCoE) by implementing predictive maintenance strategies. This has been achieved by employing Linear Discriminant Analysis (LDA) to determine the furthermost relevant features from the measured data. Then the Support Vector Machine (SVM) has been implemented as a classification technique to classify the state of the OWC system.

In this tutorial some basic linear algebra problems: basis change and projection, are discussed together with examples of their applications in signal and image processing. In typical linear algebra university courses perpendicular projections are only discussed. However, in image processing, for defining various color spaces, we need non-perpendicular projections. That is why this is the key problem in this tutorial.

A method for diagnosing unsteady modes of electrohydraulic complex electromechanical systems based on monitoring of energy processes as part of the variable-frequency electric drive of the pump has been developed. It is based on the analysis of instantaneous power derivatives and its amplitude-frequency characteristics at all elements of the energy channel. Diagnostic signs of the identification of emergency modes have been determined and a set of organizational and technical measures has been formulated to prevent the development of an unsteady mode by using hydrodynamic and cavitation protection devices, active energy absorbers and devices for reducing dynamic loads in pipeline networks. © 2022 IEEE.

A new RLC high-pass filter circuit is considered, in which, due to the introduction of additional buffer amplifiers (voltage followers) and resistive voltage dividers, independent tuning of the pole Q-factor and the pole frequency by various resistance is realized at constant capacitance values of the frequency-setting capacitor and frequency-setting inductance. The article discusses the conclusion of modeling RLC high-pass filter in the Micro-Cap, which confirm its claimed properties. The basic mathematical equations for the transfer function of the RLC high-pass filter and the parameters of its frequency response are obtained. The equations obtained above make it possible to develop an algorithm for independent adjustment of the parameters of the proposed RLC filter. The RLC high-pass filter circuitry proposed by the authors is recommended for adaptive filtering of signals in radio engineering and measuring systems. Due to the appropriate parameters choice of passive and active circuit elements, it is possible to ensure the operation of the considered RLC high-pass filter both at low and at high frequencies. © 2022 IEEE.

Cyber-physical power system (CPPS), with its bi-directional power and information flows, is considered as the next generation of widely distributed and automated electrical power network. However, CPPS is vulnerable to malicious cyberattacks that can cause significant operational risk and financial loss to stakeholders, such as electricity system operators. The complexity of vulnerabilities, which arises from the heterogeneity and interdependency of physical and cyber domains, will present substantial challenges for the detection and prevention of cyberattacks. This paper provides a comprehensive review of the defense mechanisms in CPPS against coordinated and widespread cyberattacks. The most prevalent cyberattacks in the CPPS are denial-of-service (DoS) and false data injection (FDI) attacks. This paper examines the state-of-the-art prevention, detection, and mitigation technologies for these major mainstreams and coordinated cyberattacks. In particular, the advantages and disadvantages of popular cyberattack prevention sciences such as Game Theory, Optimization, control Theory, and Data-driven method are discussed. It reveals that cyberattack detection techniques have evolved from traditional state estimation to artificial intelligence-based methods. Finally, the challenges and opportunities for future research on cybersecurity in CPPS are identified.

Detection-Triggered Recursive Impact Mitigation against Secondary False Data Injection Attacks in Microgrids

The cybersecurity of microgrid has received widespread attentions due to the frequently reported attack accidents against distributed energy resource (DER) manufactures. Numerous impact mitigation schemes have been proposed to reduce or eliminate the impacts of false data injection attacks (FDIAs). Nevertheless, the existing methods either requires at least one neighboring trustworthy agent or may bring in unacceptable cost burdens. This paper aims to propose a detection-triggered recursive impact mitigation scheme that can timely and precisely counter the secondary FDIAs (SFDIAs) against the communication links among DERs. Once triggering attack alarms, the power line current readings will be utilised to observe the voltage bias injections through the physical interconnections among DERs, based on which the current bias injections can be recursively reconstructed from the residuals generated by unknown input observers (UIOs). The attack impacts are eliminated by subtracting the reconstructed bias from the incoming compromised data. The proposed mitigation method can work even in the worst case where all communication links are under SFDIAs and only require extra current sensors. The bias reconstruction performance under initial errors and system noises is theoretically analysed and the reconstruction error is proved to be bounded regardless of the electrical parameters. To avoid deploying current sensors on all power lines, a cost-effective deployment strategy is presented to secure a spanning tree set of communication links that can guarantee the secondary control performance. Extensive validation studies are conducted in MATLAB/SIMULINK and hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) testbeds to validate the proposed method’s effectiveness against single/multiple and continuous/discontinuous SFDIAs. This paper provides an evaluation and comparison of popular parameterised model predictive control approaches that have been proposed in the literature in recent years. Using the Generalised Predictive control (GPC) algorithm as the baseline algorithm, the paper sets out a number of performance criteria to compare and contrast with several other MPC approaches. Numerical examples use 100 random samples of 2, 3, and 4-state models and the approaches are compared using the selected performance criteria.
