This study addresses the problem of guaranteed cost fault-tolerant fuzzy control for multiline re-entrant manufacturing systems (RMSs) against stochastic disturbances and workstation faults. Initially, a nonlinear hyperbolic impulsive partial differential equation model is employed to describe the complex and hybrid dynamics of RMSs suffering from unexpected faults within the working stations, and then the corresponding approximation T-S fuzzy model is constructed. In what follows, with the aid of the parallel distributed compensation fuzzy control scheme, the main results of stability analysis and controller synthesis for the closed-loop re-entrant manufacturing control system are derived using a timer-dependent Lyapunov functional with spatio-temporal auxiliary variables. It is found that by means of the proposed fault-tolerant control approach, the RMS can be effectively and robustly driven to a desired production mode with steady feeding and production rates while the upper bound of a quadratic cost function is minimized. Finally, the effectiveness of the proposed control approach is validated through numerical simulations. © 2013 IEEE.

Industrial wastewater often contains considerable amounts of toxic pollutants that would endanger public health and the environment. In developing countries, these toxins are often discharged into natural ecosystems without pretreatment as it requires costly treatment processes, which causes long-term harmful socioeconomic impacts. Employing wastewater treatment plants using physical, biological, and chemical methods to clean the wastewater is considered by many nations the answer to the environmental crises. The treated water could be used for targeting the irrigation systems in its majority, as it is biologically acceptable for that specific use, which economizes the use of freshwater sources for municipal use specifically. This study presents a novel method for fabricating an efficient adsorbent sheet for wastewater treatment. The sheets are fabricated by combining sugarcane bagasse pulp as a scaffold with commercial, naturally activated carbon and bimetallic-prepared adsorbents. Fava beans and algae biomass are utilized in the production of activated carbon because of their high carbon contents, availability, and low cost. The prepared composite sheets are synthesized and investigated for several pollutants' removal such as methyl orange, crystal violet dyes, and chromium heavy metals. These pollutants are selected due to the high discharge amount and toxic effect on aquatic life. FT-IR and SEM analyses are used to characterize the samples. To determine the mechanism of adsorption, the intra-particle diffuse, pseudo-first-order, and pseudo-second-order kinetic models are used to test the experimental data. All the prepared sheets can retain the pollutants, with the best removal efficiency of 96.24% for methyl orange adsorption onto the bio-composite mixed sheet. For methyl orange, the error values and correlation coefficient R2of 0.971 and 0.951 shows that the Temkin isotherm and pseudo-first-order kinetic model, respectively, are capable of providing the highes

As the miniaturization of electronic devices and complication of electronic packaging,there are growing demands for thermal interfacial materials with enhanced thermal conductivity and the capability to direct the heat toward heat sink for highly efficient heat ***-based carbon fiber(CF)with ultrahigh axial thermal conductivity and aspect ratios exhibits great potential for developing thermally conductive composites as ***,it is still hard to fabricate composites with aligned carbon fiber in a general approach to fully utilize its excellent axial thermal conductivity in specific ***,three types of CF scaffolds with different oriented structure were developed via magnetic field-assisted Tetris-style stacking and carbonization *** regulating the magnetic field direction and initial stacking density,the self-supporting CF scaffolds with horizontally aligned(HCS),diagonally aligned and vertically aligned(VCS)fibers were *** embedding the polydimethylsiloxane(PDMS),the three composites exhibited unique heat transfer properties,and the HCS/PDMS and VCS/PDMS composites presented a high thermal conductivity of 42.18 and 45.01 W m^(−1)K^(−1)in fiber alignment direction,respectively,which were about 209 and 224 times higher than that of *** excellent thermal conductivity is mainly ascribed that the oriented CF scaffolds construct effective phonon transport pathway in the *** addition,fishbone-shaped CF scaffold was also produced by multiple stacking and carbonization process,and the prepared composites exhibited a controlled heat transfer path,which can allow more versatility in the design of thermal management system.

The actuator, serving as the fundamental power source of a soft robot, functions as its central component. The field of soft robotics has garnered increasing research attention since its inception. Pneumatic crawling robots, being an essential branch within the realm of soft robotics, possess notable characteristics such as rapid response time, cost-effectiveness, and human-computer interaction safety. Consequently, they hold significant research value. Among various types of crawling robots that have garnered considerable interest from researchers is the inchworm crawling robot. This paper aims to address the design and development aspects pertaining to inchworm actuators. By utilizing ABAQUS simulation software and taking displacement as the reference parameter, an analysis was conducted to investigate the impact of various geometric parameters on actuator displacement. Additionally, optimization of these geometric parameters was performed. The values of aspect ratio, length-to-width ratio, vertex angle and gap depth suitable for inchworm-like actuator are obtained. These findings are presented for the first time in the field of crawling soft robots and provide a theoretical basis for the development of pneumatic inchworm-like actuators. © 2024 IEEE.

The widespread application of unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) has made the coverage path planning problem for multiple UAV systems a research hotspot. In this paper, we propose a multi-UAV solution to achieve complete coverage of multi-region. Based on this solution, we present an improved particle swarm optimization (PSO) algorithm that combines PSO algorithm, greedy strategy, and back-and-forth (BAF) algorithm. Its purpose is to plan the optimal paths for multi-UAV while achieving the shortest total distance and the highest UAV cooperation efficiency with the minimum number of UAVs, thereby enhancing the multi-UAV coverage cooperation and path optimization capabilities. Simulation results demonstrate the feasibility and superiority of this algorithm. © 2024 IEEE.

Aspect-Based Sentiment Analysis (ABSA) stands as a crucial task in predicting the sentiment polarity associated with identified aspects within text. However, a notable challenge in ABSA lies in precisely determining the aspects' boundaries (start and end indices), especially for long ones, due to users' colloquial expressions. We propose DiffusionABSA, a novel diffusion model tailored for ABSA, which extracts the aspects progressively step by step. Particularly, DiffusionABSA gradually adds noise to the aspect terms in the training process, subsequently learning a denoising process that progressively restores these terms in a reverse manner. To estimate the boundaries, we design a denoising neural network enhanced by a syntax-aware temporal attention mechanism to chronologically capture the interplay between aspects and surrounding text. Empirical evaluations conducted on eight benchmark datasets underscore the compelling advantages offered by DiffusionABSA when compared against robust baseline models. Accurate estimation for state-of-health (SOH) of lithium-ion batteries is critical to ensure the security and durability of battery operation. Accordingly, this paper proposes a SOH estimation method based on Attention-LSTM neural network using the partial charging features. First, features are extracted from partial constant-current charging curves. Second, Pearson coefficient analysis is employed to analysis the mapping relationship between extracted features and SOH. Third, an Attention-LSTM network is utilized to realize the SOH estimation. The attention mechanism can adaptively assign weights to the input features and time steps, thereby improving the estimation accuracy. Validation experiments are conducted on public dataset from NASA Ames Prognostics Center of Excellence. The experimental results highlight that the proposed method has higher accuracy and robustness compared with other approaches. © 2023 IEEE.

In the process of coal mine drilling,controlling the rotary speed is important as it determines the efficiency and safety of *** this paper,a linear extended state observer(LESO)based backstepping controller for rotary speed is proposed,which can overcome the impact of changes in coal seam hardness on rotary ***,the influence of coal seam hardness on the drilling rig’s rotary system is considered for the first time,which is reflected in the numerical variation of load torque,and a dynamic model for the design of rotary speed controller is *** an LESO is designed to observe the load torque,and feedforward compensation is carried out to overcome the influence of coal seam *** on the model of the compensated system,a backstepping method is used to design a controller to achieve tracking control of the rotary ***,the effectiveness of the controller designed in this paper is demonstrated through simulation and field experiments,the steady-state error of the rotary speed in field is 1 r/min,and the overshoot is reduced to 5.8%.This greatly improves the stability and security,which is exactly what the drilling process requires.
