This work demonstrates the development of a prototype system that could improve urban and digital accessibility for People with Disability - PwD. The research involves using an academic questionnaire to enable a wider perspective of the central subject and assessing the effectiveness of the proposed solution. The main goal is to help social integration and make the future solution implementable for smart cities through an experiment in an academic campus. The dissertation is related to technological and social issues that might be used as a resource by researchers, public or private bodies interested in more profound studies. The document recognizes the lack of studies on this subject, especially in Brazil because there are few available articles. The prototype system is designed to tackle the issues faced by persons with disability in urban settings through platforms, applications and mobile phones as it proposes a comprehensive set of solutions when addressing accessibility for PwDs. In turn, this research fosters knowledge advancements in the field of urban accessibility and provides vital recommendations for developing inclusive technologies and policies.

VANETs make it possible to execute specific vehicular applications, in particular those with the aim of turning traffic safe and avoiding congestion. However, it is difficult to maintain communication between vehicles when these vehicles move dynamically at high speeds. Context-aware systems have been studied as a way to monitor context information from sensors, which can be used by systems to adapt to changes in their environment or in application requirements. This concept is used by VANET protocols and applications in different ways. Quality of Context (QoC) metrics are used to qualify the context information considering different characteristics of sensors and of the information, being a base for systems to decide if it is safe and interesting to use specific information. In this paper, we propose QoC metrics related to the stability of the updating process for a vehicular communication context. In addition, we also analyze the Age QoC metric and show how to calculate it for distinct context information. We simulate scenarios to verify the QoC metrics behavior. The results showed that the proposed QoC metrics can properly qualify the vehicular communication context.

Solar energy is one of the most abundant sources of renewable energy in Indonesia. Solar energy is now typically harnessed using solar panels, but the low efficiency of photovoltaic cells requires the development of other alternatives. The heliostat is a sunlight directing device with mirrors that can be used in a concentrated solar power system. Current heliostats require high capital investment due to their large frames and expensive components. This research was undertaken to develop a lower cost heliostat using a smaller frame, ESP32 microcontroller, servo motor and low-cost components. The position of the sun can be determined using an algorithm based on the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) solar calculator, and the mirror is moved to maintain the sun's reflection on a target. The result of this research is a set of heliostat prototypes consisting of the frame and control system. Tests were carried out to test the performance of the designed heliostat and it was found that the heliostat has an accuracy of about 60 cm and can raise temperatures up to 3.41°C. The conclusion is that the heliostat can be used in a concentrated solar power system to heat boilers in solar power towers.

This paper proposes a high-quality font generation method based on StyleGAN2 and FSFont font generation model. In our previous work, we proposed a system that expresses emotions by using font changes and call it an EmoEditor (Emotion-Expressive Editor). This system uses a deep neural network based on zi2zi that is able to generate a desired rendered character by giving a fixed rendered character and a font label which distinguishes between fonts. By changing the font label, the system generates the different font characters which corresponds to several emotions. However, the system was not able to reconstruct the expected ones for our collected fonts that is needed to express emotions. Considering the rapid development of DNN technology, in this paper, we propose an extension of the StyleGAN2 model for font generation. Specifically, we enhance StyleGAN2 by incorporating an Encoder which is come from FSFont generation model and a class label input structure. By adopting a class label input, the proposed model is able to generate indicated font by users. Experimental results show that the proposed method can generate better fonts qualitatively and quantitatively than previous studies on font generation.

Quantum Amplitude Estimation (QAE) is an important quantum algorithm that has the potential to quadratically speed up Monte Carlo based *** this paper, we present a variant of the QAE without Phase Estimation Algorithm called Iterative Refinement QAE (IRQAE). IRQAE can refine the current estimation to a more accurate estimation iteratively, hence it can provide an estimation with arbitrary required accuracy ∊. The key idea of IRQAE is to use a rotation gate to create a quantum state for samplings with the current estimation. Using this idea, we show that IRQAE can provide a highly accurate estimation with lower classical computational complexity and with the same quantum computational complexity compared to state-of-the-art QAEs without phase estimation using numerical experiments. We prove that the computational complexity of IRQAE of the quantum part is O(1/∊) and the classical one is O(1/∊). The quantum cost gives a quadratic advantage over that of the classical Monte Carlo simulation.
