The article describes a new method for malware classification,based on a Machine Learning(ML)model architecture specifically designed for malware detection,enabling real-time and accurate malware *** an innovative feature dimensionality reduction technique called the Interpolation-based Feature Dimensionality Reduction Technique(IFDRT),the authors have significantly reduced the feature space while retaining critical information necessary for malware *** technique optimizes the model’s performance and reduces computational *** proposed method is demonstrated by applying it to the BODMAS malware dataset,which contains 57,293 malware samples and 77,142 benign samples,each with a 2381-feature *** the IFDRT method,the dataset is transformed,reducing the number of features while maintaining essential data for accurate *** evaluation results show outstanding performance,with an F1 score of 0.984 and a high accuracy of 98.5%using only two reduced *** demonstrates the method’s ability to classify malware samples accurately while minimizing processing *** method allows for improving computational efficiency by reducing the feature space,which decreases the memory and time requirements for training and *** new method’s effectiveness is confirmed by the calculations,which indicate significant improvements in malware classification accuracy and *** research results enhance existing malware detection techniques and can be applied in various cybersecurity applications,including real-timemalware detection on resource-constrained *** and scientific contribution lie in the development of the IFDRT method,which provides a robust and efficient solution for feature reduction in ML-based malware classification,paving the way for more effective and scalable cybersecurity measures.

The authors investigate the potential of pulsed power technology in recycling of E-waste. Applying the pulsed discharge can separate composite materials into plastic and metal. In this study, pulsed discharge was applied to indium tin oxide (ITO) coated plastic films. We used two electrode types: rod-to-rod electrode and a pair of flat plate electrodes to investigate the effect of electrode structure on the metal removal area in detail. A series of single pulse discharges were applied at various electrode distances. As a result, it was revealed that metal can be removed over a wide range by the pulsed discharge using a pair of flat plate electrodes. When the gap between the electrodes was 30 mm, the removal area by the flat plate electrodes was approximately 3.4 times that by the rod electrodes. Analysis of the current density also revealed that the metal removal area was greatly affected by the current density.

Artificial Intelligence (AI), with ChatGPT as a prominent example, has recently taken center stage in various domains including higher education, particularly in computer science and engineering (CSE). The AI revolution brings both convenience and controversy, offering substantial benefits while lacking formal guidance on their application. The primary objective of this work is to comprehensively analyze the pedagogical potential of ChatGPT in CSE education, understanding its strengths and limitations from the perspectives of educators and learners. We employ a systematic approach, creating a diverse range of educational practice problems within CSE field, focusing on various subjects such as data science, programming, AI, machine learning, networks, and more. According to our examinations, certain question types, like conceptual knowledge queries, typically do not pose significant challenges to ChatGPT, and thus, are excluded from our analysis. Alternatively, we focus our efforts on developing more in-depth and personalized questions and project-based tasks. These questions are presented to ChatGPT, followed by interactions to assess its effectiveness in delivering complete and meaningful responses. To this end, we propose a comprehensive five-factor reliability analysis framework to evaluate the responses. This assessment aims to identify when ChatGPT excels and when it faces challenges. Our study concludes with a correlation analysis, delving into the relationships among subjects, task types, and limiting factors. This analysis offers valuable insights to enhance ChatGPT's utility in CSE education, providing guidance to educators and students regarding its reliability and efficacy.

This study explores the feasibility of using large language models (LLMs), specifically GPT-4o (ChatGPT), for automated grading of conceptual questions in an undergraduate Mechanical engineering course. We compared the grading performance of GPT-4o with that of human teaching assistants (TAs) on ten quiz problems from the MEEN 361 course at Texas A&M University, each answered by approximately 225 students. Both the LLM and TAs followed the same instructor-provided rubric to ensure grading consistency. We evaluated performance using Spearman’s rank correlation coefficient and Root Mean Square Error (RMSE) to assess the alignment between rankings and the accuracy of scores assigned by GPT-4o and TAs under zero- and few-shot grading settings. In the zero-shot setting, GPT-4o demonstrated a strong correlation with TA grading, with Spearman’s rank correlation coefficient exceeding 0.6 in seven out of ten datasets and reaching a high of 0.9387. Our analysis reveals that GPT-4o performs well when grading criteria are straightforward but struggles with nuanced answers, particularly those involving synonyms not present in the rubric. The model also tends to grade more stringently in ambiguous cases compared to human TAs. The introduction of an IoT-based smart waste management system is proposed to optimize various aspects of university campus waste recycle management processes, such as garbage collection scheduling, waste type identification, and collection routes. This system utilizes advanced data analytics algorithms, wireless communication protocols, and sensors to measure and document variations in trash levels, enabling real-time monitoring of waste accumulation. Through this IoT-based infrastructure, university administrators and waste management staff gain fine-grained visibility and control over garbage collection processes. The implications for sustainability advocacy and environmental stewardship in academic environments are significant. By fostering a culture of environmental awareness and accountability, universities can instill ideals of conservation and resourcefulness in their student populations and staff. The proposed IoT-enabled waste bin system exemplifies the synergy between technological innovation and environmental responsibility, serving as a model for institutions worldwide. Collaboration among universities can leverage IoT technology to drive positive change, mitigate environmental degradation, and promote sustainable practices beyond campus boundaries. Efficient waste management is crucial for nurturing sustainability on college and university campuses, as evidenced by the urgent need for the collection and recycling of compost, general waste, and recyclables. Our models consistently achieve high performance, with perfect scores (1.000) across all split ratios, indicating flawless classification of waste types. Although the Artificial Neural Network (ANN) demonstrates slightly lower accuracy, ranging from 0.973 to 0.997 depending on data splits, it still performs well. As a result, Naive Bayes produces less accurate results, typically surpassing 0.93 but falling short of Random Forest, K-Nearest Neighbors (KNN), and Support Vector Machine (SVM)’s flawless

Technological developments have impacts and challenges in human life. Technological advances have made human life easier. The impact of technological developments is the industrial manufacturing process getting faster with the help of robotics technology. Robots can shorten manufacturing process time and efficient. On the other hand, challenges with technological developments force us to keep learning and adaptive to every changes around us, especially in the education sector. In education sector, formal educational institutions or campuses must be able to facilitate students to be able to learn comprehensively in the field of technology, especially robotics, where we can make an innovative learning platform based on robotics technology. In this study, we discussed a 2-DOF arm manipulator robot as kinematics learning platform of industrial robot to increase student competencies in preparation for facing the industrial environment in century. Inverse kinematics equation has been applied in the robot by providing input coordinates on the x-Axis and y-Axis where the accuracy value on the x-Axis is 77% and the accuracy on the y-Axis is 83.1%. © 2023 IEEE.

Exams are an important component of any educational program, including online education. In any test, there is a possibility of cheating, so its detection and prevention is important. This study aims to conduct an in-depth study of the online exam monitoring model approach based on facial recognition used to detect cheating. Based on the inclusion and exclusion criteria designed, 13 selected studies were obtained. From these studies, we conducted further analysis regarding the Face Detection Method, Face Recognition Method, Initial Feature, Behavior Analysis and Evaluation Metrics used in each study so as to provide answers to research questions. the most frequently used Face detection method was Viola-Jones with a presentation of 20%, then CNN and MTCNN with a total presentation of 21%. The most widely used face recognition method in selected studies is CNN and metrics Accuracy is one of the most frequently used evaluations with a percentage of 33%. While the features that are usually used to detect cheating during online exams include facial motion and head pose which occupies the first position. The second is eye movement, then multiple faces gaze estimation and facial expression is in third place. Other features that also play a role in analyzing cheating behavior are mouth detection, facial vector, landmark location, gesture and posture.

In order to compare rooted labeled trees (trees, for short), in this paper, we introduce an ancestral-path descendant-labels (APDL, for short) histogram distance as the $L_{1}$ distance between histograms of triples consisting of the path from the root to $v$ , the label of $v$ and the multiset of labels in the descendant of $v$ for every vertex $v$ . Then, we show that the APDL histogram distance can be computed in linear time with respect to the number of vertices in trees and it is a metric. Furthermore, we compare APDL histogram distance with the isolated-subtree distance for real data.

In general, public or private organizations or companies have used information-based technology as a support to improve business performance to be more effective and efficient in order to achieve a company’s business goals. Given the large contribution of information technology in the application of hotel applications as a supporting information system, it is a vital system that must avoid risks that can hinder and cause harm to the hotel management business processes. Therefore, it is necessary to carry out risk management using the COBIT 5 framework to manage possible risks that may occur based on the APO12 (Manage Risk) domain. From the evaluation results of the data obtained through observation and interviews as well as the calculation of the results of the questionnaire based on 6 APO12 subdomains, the results of the risk management level capability assessment in hotel applications are still at level 3 or have reached the level of established process with the target to be achieved at level 4 resulting in a gap of 1 level. Based on the results obtained, it is necessary to propose recommendations that can be used by hotels in improving the application of information technology risk management so that in the future it can achieve the expected target level so that the APO12 level of capability can increase and become more optimal.

This article conducts a comprehensive examination of brand-based equity closely linked to environmental sustainability in the Amazon Rainforest. The research is primarily dedicated to identifying the factors that influence consumers’ willingness to purchase products from sustainable brands within six categories: cosmetics, tourism, clothing, accessories, and food. The central aim of this study is to investigate how brand equity constructs, rooted in environmental sustainability within the Amazon Rainforest, impact consumer loyalty and purchase intention. To accomplish this objective, a mixed-methodology approach was employed, combining structural equation modeling with item response theory. This study involved 535 potential consumers, and data from eight selected brands served as the basis for the analysis. Within the framework of Purchase Intention (PI), the following variables were regarded as formative constructs: Strategic Brand Positioning (SBP), Perceived Brand Quality (PBQ), Retail Innovation (RI), and Brand Authenticity (BA). The results obtained from the structural equation models underscore the statistical significance and substantial impact of all pathways. Notably, SBP emerged as the most significant contributor to the effect on PI, as hypothesized. Brand equity and environmental sustainability were found to indirectly affect behavioral PI. Consumers exhibited a high level of latent trait (θ), with items consistently reflecting elevated values, confirming their acceptance of products, except brand differentiation. Overall, the findings highlight the effectiveness of branding strategies rooted in environmental sustainability in enhancing the brand equity of small forest companies. © The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer Nature Switzerland AG 2023.
