control related data, such as system states and inputs or controller specifications, is often sensitive. Meanwhile, the increasing connectivity of cloud-based or networked control results in vast amounts of such data, which poses a privacy threat, especially when evaluation on external platforms is considered. In this context, a cipher based on a random affine transformation gained attention, which is supposed to enable privacy-preserving evaluations of quadratic programs (QPs) with little computational overhead compared to other methods. This paper deals with the security of such randomly transformed QPs in the context of model predictive control (MPC). In particular, we show how to construct attacks against this cipher and thereby underpin concerns regarding its security in a practical setting. To this end, we exploit invariants under the transformations and common specifications of MPC-related QPs. Our numerical examples then illustrate that these two ingredients suffice to extract information from ciphertexts.
Lipschitz constants for linear MPC are useful for certifying inherent robustness against unmodeled disturbances or robustness for neural network-based approximations of the control law. In both cases, knowing the mini...

This paper proposes a time-varying matrix solution to the Brockett stabilization problem. The key matrix condition shows that if the system matrix product CB is a Hurwitz H-matrix, then there exists a time-varying diagonal gain matrix K(t) such that the MIMO minimum-phase linear system with decentralized output feedback is exponentially convergent. The proposed solution involves several analysis tools such as diagonal stabilization properties of special matrices, stability conditions of diagonal-dominant linear systems, and solution bounds of linear time-varying integro-differential systems. A review of other solutions to the general Brockett stabilization problem (for a general unstructured time-varying gain matrix K(t)) and a comparison study are also provided.

In the second segment of the tutorial, we transition from the granularity of local interpretability to a broader exploration of eXplainable AI (XAI) methods. Building on the specific focus of the first part, which delved into Local Interpretable Model-Agnostic Explanations (LIME) and SHapley Additive exPlanations (SHAP), this section takes a more expansive approach. We will navigate through various XAI techniques of more global nature, covering counterfactual explanations, equation discovery, and the integration of physics-informed AI. Unlike the initial part, which concentrated on two specific methods, this section offers a general overview of these broader classes of techniques for explanation. The objective is to provide participants with a comprehensive understanding of the diverse strategies available for making complex machine learning models interpretable on a more global scale.

In this paper we compare different operation strategies for alkaline electrolyzis (AEL) systems using numeric simulation. We derived general models for mass and energy balances from literature and composed them into a model for an AEL system. Here we considered a numbered-up plant topology, containing multiple AEL stacks with single electrolyte distribution and gas separation systems. The gas impurities and achievable minimal load distribution were compared for the different operating strategies. The results were discussed and further conclusions for the operation of a homogeneous numbered-up AEL system were derived.
