作者: KELLY, J.S. STILES, R.G. Mr. John S. Kelly was born in Louisville Kentucky in 1922. He attended Western Kentucky Teachers College in 1940-42. In 1942 his education was interrupted by the War and the years 1942-45 were spent studying teaching and servicing radar systems for the Signal Corps. In 1945 he re-entered Western Kentucky Teachers College and received a B. S. degree in physics in 1946. He was employed as a Research Associate in a rocket development project at the Allegany Ballistics Laboratory of Hercules Powder Company. In 1947 and 1948 he attended Ohio State University taking graduate courses in physics and mathematics. In 1948 he joined the Infrared Equipment Section of the Electronics Design Division of the Bureau of Ships. R. G. Stiles was born in Vermont in 1913. He attended the University of Vermont and received a B. S. in Electrical Engineering in 1936 and an M. S. in Physics in 1938. He attended Lehigh University as a graduate student and part-time instructor in Physics from 1938–1941. From 1941 to 1948 he was associated with the Newport News Shipbuilding and Dry Dock Co. as an electrical engineer concerned with radio and radar installations and later as an electronic engineer in the Research Division. In 1948 and 1949 he was electronic engineer for the Department of the Army at its Audiology and Speech Correction Center Walter Reed General Hospital. In 1950 he joined the Infrared Equipment Section of the Electronics Design Division of the Bureau of Ships. He is a member of A. I. E. E. and I. R. E.
