Construction teams are responsible for building complex projects within the allotted budget, time and expected quality. Thus, team members must be able to work with each other to avoid any complications during the construction process. As such, team supervisors must select from a pool of applicants or from their current roster of workers, which would be composed of different personalities and capabilities. This paper aims to identify the preferences of team supervisors when building up their team using conjoin analysis. The study found out that supervisors would like to have workers that respects and values their work and can work harmoniously with others. This study is beneficial for the human resource department of construction companies when recruiting workers, for the management when trying to develop their current personnel and for the workers who are trying to improve themselves. © 2024 ACM.

Deep Learning-Based Positioning Error Fault Diagnosis of Wire Bonding Equipment and an Empirical Study for IC Packaging

Little research has been done for artificial intelligence applications of semiconductor backend. This study aims to develop a deep learning based fault diagnosis framework as prognostics and health management (PHM) solutions with a comprehensive analytics process. A linear encoder sensor is employed to measure position, while data preparation is conducted to convert position information into a signal. Then, signal processing is used to extract the features, in which high pass filter is applied to normalize the signal and emphasize the features. High-dimensional features including time domain statistical features, time-frequency domain features obtained by continuous wavelet transform (CWT), and frequency domain features converted by fast Fourier transform (FFT) are extracted to prepare the dataset. An ensemble neural network model that integrates deep neural network (DNN) and convolutional neural network (CNN) is employed to recognize the pattern and diagnose the positioning errors. The accuracy and false alarm rate are considered to support maintenance decisions. An empirical study was conducted in a world leading IC assembly and testing company for validation. The results have shown that the proposed approach can effectively detect inappropriate installation of the bond head in wire bonding equipment for predictive maintenance and cost reduction. © 1988-2012 IEEE.

The need for safe operation and effective maintenance of pipelines grows as oil and gas demand ***,it is increasingly imperative to monitor and inspect the pipeline system,detect causes contributing to developing pipeline damage,and perform preventive maintenance in a timely ***,pipeline inspection is performed at pre-determined intervals of several months,which is not sufficiently robust in terms of *** research proposes a drone and artificial intelligence reconsolidated technological solution(DARTS) by integrating drone technology and deep learning *** solution is aimed to detect the targeted potential root problems-pipes out of alignment and deterioration of pipe support system-that can cause critical pipeline failures and predict the progress of the detected problems by collecting and analyzing image data *** test results show that DARTS can be effectively used to support decision making for preventive pipeline maintenance to increase pipeline system s afety and resilience.

In the current day, digital transformation is imperative;both customer demand and market competitiveness are mostly driving that trend. The fourth industrial revolution has also affected the financial sector. One difficulty that has to be addressed is the desire from customers for quick and useful services. Traditional procedures need to be replaced with digital ones. Furthermore, banking organizations will have a competitive edge in the current market if they are successful in this digital transformation process. Successful transformation, however, does not happen by accident;in fact, the likelihood of completing this change is seen to be very low, necessitating rigorous planning for a company that is ready for the future. There are several components to the preparation in question, both internal and external. In this situation, the company's ability to combine and rearrange its resources quickly is essential for adapting to the ever-changing business environment. © 2024 IEEE.

Price and quality level of products are two important decisions of any business. This paper provides equilibrium solutions for these decisions of two players for a cybersecurity ecosystem, including a solution provider and an information provider. We assume that end users join a cybersecurity ecosystem based on the prices and qualities of the solution provider’s and information provider’s products;so that, the increasing of the prices or/and decreasing the qualities will reduce the number of end-users of that ecosystem. Also, it is assumed that there is an exogenous information-sharing program under which the effect of quality of the information provider’s product on the cybersecurity level depends on the level of information-sharing. Under this information-sharing program, the equilibrium solutions of prices and qualities of these two players are given. Virtual reality has become a new option to inform the customers about product before purchasing. However, providing virtual reality may create new challenges. For instance, consumers may obtain essential information about products by using virtual reality option, but eventually they buy their products from the offline channel. This phenomenon is called webrooming. Another challenge is cyber-attacks. E-tailers and their consumers face risks from cyber-attacks. Thus, e-tailers are investing to improve cybersecurity. We consider a dual-channel supply chain consisting of an offline retailer and an e-tailer who purchase the same product from a manufacturer at the same wholesale price. The e-tailer offers a partial refund policy in order to attract the customers. Also, to reduce consumer valuation uncertainty, the e-tailer faces the decision on whether to introduce virtual reality. We analyze three scenarios. Firstly, the e-tailer does not offer virtual reality. Secondly, the e-tailer offers virtual reality, but he does not invest on cybersecurity. Thirdly, the e-tailer offers virtual reality and invests on cybersecurity. © 2023, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG.

Portfolio selection is an important part of investment management that aims to select the right combination of assets to achieve an optimal risk-return ratio. This study integrates the Mean-Variance Theory utilizing the 30-year historical returns of the Philippine Stock Exchange. Three subsectors of the Industrial Sector were used as the investment pool. The back-test results showed that the Mean-Variance portfolios of selected subsectors can outperform the industrial sector and not the market. Stakeholders must be cautious when investing in these three subsectors, considering the values obtained from the simulations. There are recommended portfolio selections wherein companies have a specific allocation that investors and financial managers can use whenever they decide to invest in these subsectors. Overall, this study offers a framework for investors to use as a guide in diversifying their stakes in the Philippine Stock Exchange. © 2024 IEEE.

Superior and quality human resources are based on healthy human resources with indicators of adequate nutritional intake according to age development. However, the world still faces the problem of hunger and malnutrition today. According to a UNICEF report, the number of people suffering from malnutrition in the world will reach 767.9 million people in 2021. The World Health Organization (WHO) said that malnutrition is a dangerous threat to the health of the world's population. Stunting also has an impact in Indonesia, the prevalence of toddlers experiencing stunting in Indonesia is 24.4% in 2021. The solution created is to classify and cluster the prevalence of stunting to produce a pattern that can be used as best practice to be transmitted to other affected areas. The algorithm used is Euclid. The Euclid algorithm can cluster stunting prevalence data into 4 clusters with the very little category at 79%, the little category at 67%, the many categories at 51%, and the very much category at 21%. The results of the classification and clustering of the best stunting prevalence in cluster one with a very small number, can be used as a source of accurate and updated information that can be used by the government in its efforts to optimize stunting handling in each district/city based on artificial intelligence which can provide handling and optimization patterns. stunting in every district/city. © 2023 IEEE.

The gaming industry has changed since advanced technologies and hardware specifications were able to create the possibility of gaming with connective network or known as online gaming. Some communities are accepting positively, and others are contradicted. Thus, there is an urgency to know the insight from their sentiment. The present research extracts 10 thousand sentiments at social media with sentiment text analysis. The text is interpreted into six based emotions namely anger, disgust, fear, joy, sadness, and surprise. The mining analysis by lexicon valance aware dictionary and sentiment reasoner (VADER) projects the Joy emotions as the domination result with 94.74%. Positive joy expression on online gaming is revealed by extracting the sentiment analysis. In total, ten thousand data were collected from the corpus, which resulted in the happy sentiments that were experienced. © 2023 The Authors. Published by Elsevier B.V.

A collaborative course called Global Awareness for Technology Implementation was conducted by the Faculty of engineering, Chulalongkorn University, Thailand, and the Tokyo Institute of Technology, Japan. The objective of this course was to facilitate the exchange of knowledge, perspectives, and experiences between Thai and Japanese students through project work, using an engineering design approach and the design thinking process to create innovation relevant to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). During the class, experts shared their knowledge and experiences with the students. The students then worked on their respective projects to develop solution concepts using the design thinking process. The proposed ideas include the application for English class, smart water quality checker, hydrogen-based energy system for rural area, reduced wasted fashion solution, and auto waste sorting machine. Finally, this study concluded with a summary of the results and findings on the empathy process in the chosen SDGs, and of the commonalities and differences between Thailand and Japan in terms of ideation. © 2023 IEEE.
