作者: Yagla, JJ Dr. Jon J. Yagla:received his B.A. in science (physics) from the State College of Iowa in 1965. He received his M.S. degree in engineering mechanics in 1968 and his Ph.D in aerospace engineering and engineering science in 1981 from Arizona State University. He has conducted research and development in ballistics dynamics missiles and weapon launchers. He was test conductor for the gun and missile test firigs in the reactivated USS Iowa class batteships. He provided technical oversight of the reinvestigation of the Iowa 16-inch gun explosion. He has given three previous ASNE papers on internal ballistics of weapon launchers design of missiles and launchers of underwater shock and gun test firigns in Iowa class battleships. He is the principal mechanical engineer in the Combat Systems Safety and Engineering Division at the Naval Surface Warfare Center Dahlgren Division
