The use of instant messaging (IM) application is very communal among smartphone users, as it delivers ease in interaction and communication. The speed at which technologies, growth, and expansion of networks infrastructure for high-speed data networks (e.g. wifi, 4G, etc.) are changing and the high number of IM applications are available. IM application usage is significantly escalating, also for doing illegitimate purposes, particularly to organize and coordinate criminal acts. They are practically exploited by the criminality groups involved when they target and interact with the victims, or try to run away from criminal occurrences. By systematically conducting a review to understand and to investigate IM applications topic coming from a number of scientific sources (e.g. manuscripts, metadata, files, etc.), a broader picture and opportunity to regain the valuable evidence in the investigation is academically provided. © 2018 IEEE.

In this paper, we investigate the stability of a controlled system in the event-triggering framework. By designing the triggering scheme, the control signals are updated when it is demanded subject to some satisfactory system performance. However, the stability of the system is not yet fully investigated with respect to the triggering conditions. So, the main purpose of the paper is to analyse the stability of the system with respect to the proposed triggering scheme. In this paper, sliding mode control (SMC) is used to design the event-triggered control. Our analysis proposes a new notion called bounded event property for the event which guarantees the triggering instants are generated in finite-time for all possible values of the triggering parameter. It is shown that the event-triggered SMC ensures possess the bounded event property and moreover the proposed triggering mechanism also guarantees the stability of the closed loop system stability. © 2018 IEEE.

Rapid advancements in synthetic biology and nucleic acid synthesis, in particular concerns about its intentional or accidental misuse, call for more sophisticated screening tools to identify genes of interest within short sequence fragments. One major gap in predicting genes of concern is the inadequacy of current tools and ontologies to describe the specific biological processes of pathogenic proteins. The objective of this work is to design software that sensitively assigns taxonomic classifications, functional annotations, and biological processes of interest to short nucleotide sequences of unknown origin (50bp-1,000bp). The overarching goal is to perform sensitive characterization of short sequences and highlight specific pathogenic biological processes of interest (BPoIs). The SeqScreen software executes these tasks in analytical workflows with Nextflow and outputs results in a tab-delimited report. Local and global alignments differentiate hits to taxonomically-related sequences from similar but unrelated sequences, and an ensemble approach leverages multiple tools and databases to assign a variety of functional terms to each query sequence. Final biological process assessments are made from the predicted functional annotations, which leverage information in pre-existing databases, as well as new custom biocurations. Machine learning models predict each biological process of interest on large protein databases before incorporation into the SeqScreen framework to streamline computational efficiency, ensure reproducible results, allow for version control, and facilitate the review of the automated predictions by expert biocurators. Current methods of digitally processing communication signals, which are distorted in the computer systems communication channels, are often based on the use of amplitude, phase and spectral characteristics. Correlation methods are also used to ensure immunity. A common disadvantage of these methods is the need for significant computational cost. One of the partial solutions to the described problem may be to use the signals probabilistic characteristics, in particular information entropy. This approach is based on the representation of digital message bits to the corresponding fragments of broadband signals with manipulated information entropy. In fact, signals are formed on the basis of random processes with normal distribution of possible states. The use of passive fragments in such signals can reduce the energy cost of data transmission. When passing through a communication channel, passive fragments are filled with their own channel noise. As a result, the channel's own noise extends the number of possible signal amplitude states and can be used to improve the resolution. According to the results of studies, the dependence of the probability of distortion of the information message binary symbol on the normalized signal/noise ratio is obtained. It is shown that the use of passive fragments improves noise immunity by 3-4 dB within the normalized signal/noise ratio at the input from -5 dB to 14 dB. However, at 14 dB or more, noise immunity worsens. Thus, the main scope of the proposed method can be problematic channels with low signal/noise ratio.

There have been many studies conducted related to Smart City, IT Governance and Big Data. In this study aims to find out how the relationship between the three and how to form a framework to explain it. The methodology used is qualitative by looking for some literature on smart city framework, IT Governance framework, and a Big Data framework. From these results, an overall picture of the relationship between the three is concluded, where Big Data has a role in IT Governance. and also the relationship of IT Governance to the realization of Smart City. And the final results of this study produce a framework to explain the relationship between Smart City, IT Governance and Big Data.

This paper presents Koch fractal aperture-coupled patch antennas operating in industrial scientific and medical band at 60 GHz (57 GHz to 64 GHz), for on-chip application. This work is the continuation of the development of aperture-coupled antennas with aperture and patch element built in 2 μm-thick aluminum lying on two layers of silicon with a height of 200 μm. The use of Koch fractal allowed the development of aperture-coupled antennas of greater perimeter with more metal in the patch elements, which promoted an increase in the gain. The observed gain for Koch fractal level 2 was of 10.55 dBi, with a bandwidth of 7.23 GHz, covering the ISM 60 GHz Band, and an increase of less than 10% in total patch dimension. For Koch fractal levels 0 (square), a polarization close to circular was achieved, with an axial ratio less than 6 at resonant frequencies. © 2018 IEEE.

We introduce cytoNet, a method to characterize multicellular topology from microscopy images. Accessible through a web-based interface, cytoNet quantifies the spatial relationships in cell communities using principles of graph theory, and evaluates the effect of cell-cell interactions on individual cell phenotypes. We demonstrate cytoNet’s capabilities in two applications relevant to regenerative medicine: quantifying the morphological response of endothelial cells to neurotrophic factors present in the brain after injury, and characterizing cell cycle dynamics of differentiating neural progenitor cells. The framework introduced here can be used to study complex cell communities in a quantitative manner, leading to a deeper understanding of environmental effects on cellular behavior. © 2019, The Authors. In the current industrial revolution, additive manufacturing (AM) embodies a promising technology that can enhance the effectiveness, adaptability, and competitiveness of supply chains (SCs). Moreover, it facilitates the development of distributed SCs, thereby enhancing product availability, inventory levels, and lead time. However, the wide adoption of AM in industrial SCs creates various challenges, leading to new difficulties for SC design. In this context, this paper proposes a new design approach to AM SCs using optimization methods. More specifically, the proposed approach, comprising the pmedian and mixed-integer linear programming models, considers the decision of deploying productive resources (3D printers) in specific locations of generic spare part SCs. The approach was evaluated in a real-world use case of an elevator maintenance service provider. The obtained results demonstrated the promising capabilities of the proposed design approach in managing the challenges arising from the forthcoming widespread use of 3D printers in manufacturing SCs. © 2020, CC-BY-NC-ND.

The purpose of this initiative is to ensure that citizens use social media to access information about the state of the city. Social media application offers benefits in the form of a channel of communication between the community and the government or the group that has public interest. Through this application, the public could channel complaints about public services. Perception becomes the important key for this condition because user action is determined by their perception toward the government e-services. The result of standard measurement for customer satisfaction on government organization is used to help find the weakness of the service and correct it. The interface is made to be more user-friendly to ensure the effective service. So, it is necessary to develop the system continuously. Perceived quality is one of the important determinants of the success of social media application, therefore needs identification of the user's perception and expectations and involving becomes the key to success besides the good quality that will increase the trust and satisfaction of users. Evaluation of social media applications is needed so that it can provide recommendations to the provincial government of DKI Jakarta related to what things can be done to improve community service. © 2018 IEEE.

The purpose of this study is to find the influence factors of blockchain technology adoption of payments system in Indonesia banking industry. Moreover, the researchers proposed new model of payment system by using blockchain technology in Indonesia banking industry. All this time, the researchers of blockchain in payment systems were done in major countries such as UK, USA, Australia, Scotland, Germany, Japan, France, Italy, and China. Systematic Literature Review (SLR) used as a method in this study and there were five databases that taken as references, such as IEEE, Science direct, AIS electronic, ACM and Google Scholar. The researchers were found 26 references Studies Included in Quantitative Synthesis and 9 variables (Easy to use, Usefulness, Transaction fees, Risk perception, Behaviour intention of use, Attitude toward, Cognitive style, Subjective Norm, Effectiveness). Based on the result of data analysis and discussion, there were two conclusions in this study, the first, the researchers found nine factors that expected tobe used as a reference if Indonesia banking industry wants to adopt blockchain technology for payment system;and second, the researchers had to propose payment system model by using blockchain technology in Indonesia banking industry. © 2018 IEEE.
