Business process mining from e-commerce event web logs: Conformance checking and bottleneck identification

A range of advanced methods have been formulated and utilized in the efforts of improving the business processes in many enterprises. One impacting enhancement technique is to employ process mining algorithms as modeling and analysis tools in order to provide the actual business performance by digging the event log data and finding the useful information. This paper focuses on the applications of process mining in e-commerce industry. Event log data with timestamps were retrieved and analyzed from the web databases of an e-commerce company and process mining algorithms, like inductive miner and fuzzy miner were executed for generating the actual e-commerce business processes automatically and checking their conformance with the standardized processes as well as to early detecting any bottlenecks and issues in the e-commerce processes. Several e-commerce process issues were considered, such as item procurement, product order and delivery item tracking. The process mining modeling and its statistical results indicate that process mining can provide an efficient and effective tool for modeling and analyzing the e-commerce business processes allowing for real-time process auditing and reengineering.

The professional training of the engineering student must be innovated in order to meet the accreditation criterion and with the requirement of the university law that requires presenting an investigation to obtain the bachelor's degree and another to obtain the professional degree of engineer. In order to develop in students, the skills to search for scientific and technological articles, and the critical skills to evaluate documents and extract the main ideas from them in relation to a particular topic, the SRAR method or specialized report review method has been proposed. It has been applied during five academic semesters in the electronic engineering telephone systems course, with satisfactory results. The SRAR method has six stages:*** of the SRAR method and proposed topic, 2. Initial bibliographic search, 3. Autonomous training, 4. Selection of articles for review, 5. Study and evaluation of articles 6. Writing of specialized report for review of articles.

The development of competencies in the professional training of an engineer includes: knowledge, skills and attitudes. For the development of skills, laboratory practices with physical equipment, virtual systems and remote systems are alternatives; the practices in the place of work performance through technical visits or pre-professional practices in the factories and maintenance workshops. Dual learning includes the participation of students in theoretical sessions in the center of studies and practical sessions of the installation and maintenance of machines and equipment in factories and workshops. The semidual learning proposal considers 50% of the practical sessions in the laboratories of the study center and 50% in the facilities of the industrial company. The experience of the application in the course of electrical machines is reported, where the application of the Semi-dual learning method in five academic semesters was planned, from 2019 - 1 to 2021 - 1, to date it was applied in the semester 2019 1, with satisfactory results.

This paper aims to improve speaker embedding representation based on x-vector for extracting more detailed information for speaker verification. We propose a statistics pooling time delay neural network (TDNN), in which the TDNN structure integrates statistics pooling for each layer, to consider the variation of temporal context in frame-level transformation. The proposed feature vector, named as statsvector, are compared with the baseline x-vector features on the VoxCeleb dataset and the Speakers in the Wild (SITW) dataset for speaker verification. The experimental results showed that the proposed stats-vector with score fusion achieved the best performance on VoxCeleb1 dataset. Furthermore, considering the interference from other speakers in the recordings, we found that the proposed statsvector efficiently reduced the interference and improved the speaker verification performance on the SITW dataset.

In this study, deep embedding of acoustic and articulatory features are combined for speaker identification. First, a convolutional neural network (CNN)-based universal background model (UBM) is constructed to generate acoustic feature (AC) embedding. In addition, as the articulatory features (AFs) represent some important phonological properties during speech production, a multilayer perceptron (MLP)-based AF embedding extraction model is also constructed for AF embedding extraction. The extracted AC and AF embeddings are concatenated as a combined feature vector for speaker identification using a fully-connected neural network. This proposed system was evaluated by three corpora consisting of King-ASR, LibriSpeech and SITW, and the experiments were conducted according to the properties of the datasets. We adopted all three corpora to evaluate the effect of AF embedding, and the results showed that combining AF embedding into the input feature vector improved the performance of speaker identification. The LibriSpeech corpus was used to evaluate the effect of the number of enrolled speakers. The proposed system achieved an EER of 7.80% outperforming the method based on x-vector with PLDA (8.25%). And we further evaluated the effect of signal mismatch using the SITW corpus. The proposed system achieved an EER of 25.19%, which outperformed the other baseline methods.

Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs) are beneficial to society by providing access to quality courses at very affordable fees. Despite their popularity, the MOOC participation rate in Indonesia is still very low. In addition, little is known about the adoption of MOOCs in Indonesia. This study explored MOOC adoption in Indonesia by investigating attitudes, awareness and the experience of working adults in Indonesia with MOOCs. Data was collected from 85 respondents, with 31 respondents having some experience with MOOCs. It was found that although the respondents generally had positive attitudes towards MOOCs, many of them were not familiar with MOOCs. The respondents who were familiar with MOOCs mostly held professions in the information technology and education fields. Lastly, MOOC users highlighted time management and commitment as the two most important factors which determined successful participation in a MOOC. © 2019 Association for computing Machinery.

The purpose of this research aims to show a thesis motivation strategy for systems engineering and electronic engineering undergraduates that allow them to obtain their bachelor's degree and professional title according to the three-stage methodology, first: know the technology developments of companies and universities from developed countries, second: to select research topics taking into account the global development, companies issues and the community of university environment, third: disseminate the selected topics and conduct research on these issues with students in their courses. As a methodology application, two universities were visited, one in Germany and another in the United States;each professor developed a research topics portfolio related to their research lines, professional interest and specialization. To improve the vocabulary ability is very important in language learning. Thus, if we can learn and remember a word very effectively, then we will be able to master a language more quickly. Therefore, many scholars began to propose related research. Due to the learning mechanism of human brain, sometimes when people learn a new knowledge they may forgot at a short time. In order to make the consideration more complete, after analyzing Hermann Ebbinghaus's forgetting curve experiment, we added two variables, one is the acceptance of each word by the same person, and the other is the ability of different people to remember vocabulary. With the above two parameters, we want to design a system to help user to review the vocabulary which may be forgetting before. The forgetting curve can be personalized, and it is more accurate to calculate the best time for each user to review the vocabulary. © 2019 IEEE.

The professional training of the electronic engineer must include competencies such as research, technological development and innovation. According to Peruvian Technical Standard NTP 732.001, technological development is the application of knowledge for the creation or improvement of products or processes or management up to the level of demonstrative pilots, and the technological development project activity (TDP), is linked to the design and implementation of a prototype that solves a requirement of reality. The research question is, which approach should address the management of activities RDI so that technological development projects allow contributing to develop new competencies in the engineer and preserve the knowledge generated? The UNPRG's Electronic Engineering program aims to be a successful program thanks by its competitive professionals, its links with companies for activities RDI, valued by the knowledge generated by its students and professors, and the appropriate approach should be based on knowledge management and interdisciplinarity. © 2019 IEEE.
