Received his B.Sc. from the University of Bombay India an M.A. in mathematics from the University of Cambridge U.K. and a Ph.D. in physics from the University of Maryland. He is currently an Associate Executive Director of the Network Technology Division at COMSAT Laboratories. He has been involved in research and development activities in ISDN VSAT networks data communications and network systems and architectures. Prior to his current positions Dr. Chitre was a Principal Scientist in the Network Technology Division at COMSAT Laboratories. Dr. Chitre joined COMSAT Laboratories in 1980. He has made major contributions to the analysis and architecture of data communication ISDN and BISDN via satellite. Dr. Chitre directs and participates in the international and national standards activities in ISDN BISDN and data communication as they apply to satellite communication. He was Chairman of the Working Group on Protocols and Network Timing Function of the CCIR/CCITT Joint Ad Hoc Group on ISDN-Satellite Matters during 1990–1992. Currently he is the Chairman of the Working Group on New Technologies in the ITU Intersector Coordinating Group (ICG) on Satellite Matters. Dr. Chitre was a programme manager during 1990 and 1991 on a contract from INTELSAT on systems studies on satellite communications systems architectures for ISDN and broadband ISDN systems. Currently he is the technical manager of the DoD Contract on ATM via satellite demonstration and the programme manager for the INTELSAT contract on analysis and top-level specification of INTELSAT ISDN subnetworks and SDH compatible transport network. Bo 1380 Houston TX 77251–1380) Environmental Science Department in 1987 after earning his B.S. in chemical engineering from the University of California Davis and his Ph.D. in chemical engineering from Princeton University. His current areas of research include the development and evaluation of soil treatment processes modeling and measuring transport phenomena in porous media and the development of transport models for predicting emissions and exposures used in envvironmental risk assessments. Curtis C Stanley received his degree in geology with an engineering minor from North Carolina State University in 1979. He is currently a senior hydrogeologist for Shell Oil Co. (Westhollow Research Center 2236 Two Shell Plaza Houston TX 77082) and is responsible for hydrogeologic response at Shell's retail facilities. Stanley is a Certified Professional Geological Scientist and also a Certified Ground Water Professional with the NWWA's Association of Ground Water Scientists and Engineers. He is also a member of API's Ground Water Technology Taskforce and is an EPA Peer Reviewer. Marian W. Kemblowski Ph.D. is a senior research engineer in the Environmental Science Department at Shell Development Co. (Westhollow Research Center Houston TX 77082) where he has worked since 1985. He obtained his M.S. degree in civil engineering from the Technical University of Warsaw Poland in 1973 and his Ph.D. in ground water hydrology from the Institute for Land Reclamation in Warsaw Poland in 1978. In 1980–1981 he was a visiting hydrologist in the New Mexico School of Mining and Technology. From 1981 to 1985 he worked as an assistant scientist at the University of Kansas. USN (RET.) is currently Chief Scientist in the Autonetics Marine Systems Division of Rockwell International concentrating on digital simulation applications in system engineering. A graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy in 1945 he served in various surface assignments until 1950. Subsequent thereto after becoming an Engineering Duty Officer (ED) he had Type Commander Staff Laboratory ESO and Shipyard assignments until 1962 when he became the Military Chairman Electrical Science at the U.S. Naval Academy. In 1965 he became the Head Electrical/Electronics Design Branch Bureau of Ships remaining in this assignment until 1967 when he assumed the responsibilities of Director Ship Concept Design Division Naval Ship Engineering Center. He joined Rockwell upon retiring from the U.S. Navy in 1970 and the following year became the Manager of the Integration Programs Group involved in Model-Based Systems Analysis EM Effectiveness Submarine Control and Ship Data Multiplexing. His education includes a B.S. degree from the U.S. Naval Academy a B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering awarded by MIT in 1949 and a M.S. degree in Electrical Engineering received from The George Washington University in 1967. A former ASNE Council Member he has been an active member of ASNE since 1967.

Sherrill is Manager Intercept and Direction Finding Research in the Department of Applied Electromagnetics at Southwest Research Institute San Antonio. He received his M.S. in Physics from Rice University in 1959 and his bachelor degrees in Physics and Mathematics from the University of Texas in 1957. Since joining the staff of Southwest Research Institute in 1959 he has been engaged in Naval shipboard radio direction finding research concentrating on advanced techniques of direction finding using multichannel receivers fixed antennas and the application of digital logic and computation in DF system control. He is a member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers IEEE Professional Group on Antennas and Propagation American Astronomical Society and the Scientific Research Society of America. Terry C. Green is a Senior Research Engineer in the Department of Applied Electromagnetics at Southwest Research Institute San Antonio. He took the B.S. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Texas in 1958 and served as a commissioned officer in the U. S. Air Force from 1958 to 1962. His duties as a USAF officer included experience in military search and tracking radar and electrical support equipment design for high performance fighter aircraft. In 1962 he joined the staff of Southwest Research Institute and has been engaged in high frequency and very high frequency radio direction finding techniques for surface ship and submarine application. He is a member of the IEEE Professional Group on Antennas and Propagation and Sigma Pi Sigma. Douglas N. Travers is Director of the Department of Applied Electromagnetics at Southwest Research Institute San Antonio. He obtained his B.E. in Electrical Engineering from Johns Hopkins University in 1951 and joined the staff of Southwest Research Institute in 1951.
