作者: Narasimhan Ravichandran Sundaravalli Narayanaswami has been a faculty member in the Production and Quantitative Methods Area of the Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad (IIMA) since 1980. He has also served as the director of The Indian Institute of Management Indore. He is an MSc in Maths from Annamalai University and holds a PhD from Indian Institute of Technology Madras. His teaching and research interests include applied probability business process re-engineering competitive strategy decision analysis entrepreneurship industry analysis and corporate strategy information technology for competitive advantage logistics and supply chain management operations management operations strategy quantitative methods in management and simulation. He has held several short-term visiting positions in many European Universities. He has edited and co-authored many books published in several in peer-reviewed journals. e-mail: is a faculty member of the Public Systems Group at Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad (IIMA). She has a PhD in industrial engineering and operations research from IIT Bombay. Her teaching interests are in intelligent transportation systems operations research in public systems operations management urban transportation in addition to management information systems and knowledge management. Most of her research in the past and present are in transportation operations and knowledge management that involve applications of ICT and OR tools in real-life problems of large impact. Dr Sundaravalli started her career in IT services marketing and she soon moved to a production profile in an electronics equipment manufacturing industry. Her academic career began later and she has taught at various programs in Mumbai University and at institutes under the UAE Federal education ministry in Abu Dhabi and Dubai.
