The article presents the results of the development of a method for the automatic formation of reference speeds for autonomous unmanned aerial vehicles of multirotor type, performing specified missions (such as monitoring of the sea and coastal territory in order to track populations of rare and endangered species, as well as evaluating the potential volumes of biological resources) singly or as part of a group (in formation). At the same time, the trajectories of these aircraft are set by smooth spatial curves - parametric splines of the third order, which makes it easy to adjust the specified trajectories during the mission. In order to maintain a high speed of movement of vehicles along trajectories with high accuracy of movement and saving formation, it is proposed to adjust the specified speed directly during the mission in such a way that the thrusters can ensure their required movements, taking into account the restrictions on the thrust vectors. At the same time, a simplified model of the dynamics of a quadcopter was used to calculate the values of reference speeds, taking into account the influence of wind force, environmental resistance, gravity and the total thrust vector of the propellers. The systems synthesized on the basis of this method can be implemented even on low-power onboard computing devices of unmanned aerial vehicles. © 2024 IEEE.

Vision-based control in the open racing car simulator with deep and reinforcement learning

With decades of development, computer intelligence has now reached a really high level. Especially deep learning (DL) and reinforcement learning (RL) endow computers the perception and decision abilities. This paper aims to design a vision-based system that is able to play The Open Racing Car Simulator (TORCS) like a human player that uses images. With the DL-trained perception module, useful and low-dimensional information is extracted from first-person images. Based on that, the RL-trained module further manipulates the simulated car in the middle of the lane. The two modules are separately trained, and both DL and RL advantages are maximally utilized. Experiments on different tracks show the promising performance of the method. © 2019, Springer-Verlag GmbH Germany, part of Springer Nature.

The article studies the efficiency of optical radiation input/output between a photonic integrated circuit (PIC) and an edge-coupled tapered silicon nitride waveguide with dimensions 350 nm x 850 nm at a wavelength of 1550 nm. The work determines the losses by radiation for transverse electric and transverse magnetic modes at different taper width and input mode diameter for direct (edge width more than 850 nm) and inverted tapers (edge width less than 850 nm). The results show that the admissible width of the inverted taper edge lies within 150–300 nm with losses by input/output of up to 2 dB and low sensitivity to optical polarization. For the direct taper, the highest input efficiency (losses amounted to 3-6 dB) belongs to the optical fibers with a beam waist diameter of 2–3 μm and taper edge width of 2–3 μm. For both types of edge couplers, the effect of the waist diameter of lensed fiber is more important: the spread should be within 150 nm. © 2024 IEEE.

The combined control of variable speed and variable displacement is a new type of volume control with high efficiency and fast response. However, due to the inherent nonlinearity of multiplication, it brings certain difficulties to the control. The electric double-variable pump[1] is a dual-input single-output system, and it is a nonlinear system[2]. It is necessary to linearize the system or use a nonlinear control method to control and solve the control problem of the system. In this paper, an intelligent control rule is proposed for the nonlinear problem of double input and single output. Through backstepping design[3], the nonlinear system is transformed into multiple linear subsystems. Then the original system is turned into two independent subsystems with single input and single output, which are controlled separately. The co-simulation platform based on AMESIM and Simulink[4] has been verified and compared with a single PID control algorithm to simulate the step response and sinusoidal tracking performance of the system. The results show that the response speed of the system has been greatly improved. © 2023 Technical Committee on control Theory, Chinese Association of automation.

On Approximate Opacity of Stochastic control systems

This paper investigates an important class of information-flow security property called opacity for stochastic control systems. Opacity captures whether a system's secret behavior (a subset of the system's behavior that is considered to be critical) can be kept from outside observers. Existing works on opacity for control systems only provide a binary characterization of the system's security level by determining whether the system is opaque or not. In this work, we introduce a quantifiable measure of opacity that considers the likelihood of satisfying opacity for stochastic control systems modeled as general Markov decision processes (gMDPs). We also propose verification methods tailored to the new notions of opacity for finite gMDPs by using value iteration techniques. Then, a new notion called approximate opacity-preserving stochastic simulation relation is proposed, which captures the distance between two systems' behaviors in terms of preserving opacity. Based on this new system relation, we show that one can verify opacity for stochastic control systems using their abstractions (modeled as finite gMDPs). We also discuss how to construct such abstractions for a class of gMDPs under certain stability conditions. © 1963-2012 IEEE.

With the collaboration of several intelligent services, a crowd intelligence service network has been formed, and a service ecosystem has gradually emerged. As a novel service organization model, the Service Ecosystem (SE) can provide more sophisticated, precise, and thorough services and has attracted widespread attention. However, it also brings negative effects such as involution, and information cocoon room. Thus, how to analyze the collaborative decision-making mechanism between the SE regulation algorithm and the crowd intelligence group, exploring the reasons behind the negative effects, and finding effective intervention strategies have become problems in this field. To solve the challenges, we propose a Computational Experiments-based method Decision-making processes Analysis model in SE, namely CEDA. The proposed CEDA model consists of three modules: the autonomous evolution mechanism module, the learning evolution mechanism module, and the collaborative decision-making analysis module. Among them, the computational experiments can provide a customized test environment for the analysis of collaborative decision-making processes and find out the appropriate intervention strategy. Finally, the validity of the CEDA model is verified through the case of academic ecosystem involution. The development of the scientific publishing system has remarkably enhanced global accessibility to research findings and substantially increased the visibility and dissemination of academic publications. However, significant challenges still exist in effectively safeguarding the intellectual property rights of contributors, such as the unauthorized usage of materials, the complexity of enforcing intellectual property rights across various legal jurisdictions, and high instances of plagiarism and content misuse. Additionally, financial barriers related to open access may restrict the participation of economically disadvantaged researchers, potentially biasing scientific records towards more affluent research initiatives. To address these issues, a novel decentralized framework is formulated to ensure truly open access. This framework leverages blockchain for immutable record-keeping and clear attribution of authorship, to prevent unauthorized usage and plagiarism. Besides, it also utilizes a copyright-sharing model based on decentralized autonomous organizations and operations (DAOs), where smart contracts automatically enforce copyright and access policies to ensure fair compensation for authors and researchers. Furthermore, the copyright sharing model based on non-fungible tokens (NFT) and gradual ownership optimization (GOO) mechanism is proposed to ensure fair and accurate recognition and compensation for scholarly contributions. © 2024 IEEE.
