In parallel with the development of digital technologies, and integration of computer technologies into the world of process control, today we are witnessing a powerful rise in the vulnerability of information systems due to the multiplication and diversification of illegal activities in cyberspace and computer attacks that have repeatedly disrupted the functioning of the information flow and communication systems of several countries. Since Cyber-attacks are more and more evolving, the potential damage on control systems is amplified, which makes cyber security an essential component of functional security. Currently the automation of industrial infrastructures has become crucial, due to the interests and facilities it provides. And during the development of technology, SCADA systems have undergone a very remarkable change, especially during the third generation that is based on networks, and the fourth that exploits the Internet of Things and cloud computing. As a result, Supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) systems have become increasingly vulnerable, and their safety perimeters remain narrower. However, when it comes to remotely managing a sensitive industrial infrastructure, the security of remote management remains an essential condition, especially with the advent of a new era of intelligence that materializes in Smart-cities, Smart -grids, smart-houses, and smart-cars…. The conducted research is part of this framework, and aims to introduce the various elements of sensitive control systems, and to present the literature review of results and studies established based on various legislative and normative references dealing with the subject of the cyber-security of this kind of control systems, taking into consideration all collaborators that may have a direct or indirect impact on it. Modern radio telescopes utilize IP multicast in their data networks because multicasting offers enhanced flexibility. Telescope data networks carry high volumes of real-time data and need to support network reconfigurability. Hence, they stand to gain from optimized traffic management. Software-Defined Networking (SDN) simplifies and adds dynamism to multicast routing. We reference the MeerKAT radio telescope data network and investigate methods to route the multicast streams in an SDN context. Such route planning is influenced by the telescope control system along with architectural and dynamic (e.g., link or device failure) properties of the network. This letter shows that SDN is a practical option for radio telescope data networks and that the system is flexible, easy to understand, and scalable. Additionally, we present two basic algorithms which can serve as foundational templates for more tailored solutions. © 2019 IEEE.

The pathogenesis of inflammatory bowel disease is related to the imbalance of microbial community composition. A reduction in the diversity of the intestinal microbiota as well as specific taxonomic and functional shifts have been reported in inflammatory bowel diseases and may play a central role in the inflammatory process. The aim was to review recent developments in the structural and functional changes observed in the gastrointestinal microbiome in patients with inflammatory bowel diseases and to survey the use of machine learning to discover the microbiome in inflammatory bowel disease. We start by highlighting the relationship between gut microbiome disorder with inflammatory bowel disease including different studies that confirmed this association, then, we provide an overview of the use of Machine Learning in analyzing the microbiome in inflammatory bowel diseases. © 2024, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG.

Business intelligence (BI) encompasses the tools and uses to gather, combine, examine, and display data about a specific firm. Using historical and current efficiency comparisons, these structures assist in formulating plans and choices to achieve better outcomes in the future. Additionally, it helps firms determine which business issues and industry trends require attention. It has several benefits, such as increasing responsibility and efficiency, but it carries some disadvantages, such as being expensive, complicated, and time-consuming to adopt. Using big data-driven approaches to optimize talent recruitment is essential for improved decisions in the cutthroat world of BI. The efficacy of many machine learning algorithms to increase recruiting performance and accuracy is compared in this investigation. For optimizing, cross-validating, and hyperparameter modification were employed. The Random Forest (RF) algorithm has the greatest accuracy (92.9%), trailed by the Gradient Boosting Classifying system (92.6%) and the neural network (NNs) models (92.7%). These findings imply that sophisticated ML algorithms, in particular RF and NN, can greatly improve BI platforms' hiring procedures. Recruiters can benefit from this research's insightful recommendations for incorporating advanced ML methods into talent recruitment plans. © 2025 IEEE.

This article looks at the sustainability of various artificial intelligence (AI) methods. In recent months, AI methods have received a great deal of public attention and the benefits for sustainability have been emphasised. However, the ecological impacts of AI methods must also be considered in this debate. This article presents an overview of various approaches to sustainability assessment and addresses issues relating to energy consumption and the associated Carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions, and a Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) calculation for a concrete agricultural AI-use case. © 2024 IEEE.

The detection of defects in Printed Circuit Boards (PCB) during the assembly process is an important quality requirement for the electronic *** present paper emphasizes the assessment of computer vision implying Faster-RCNN object detection architecture, with the aim of air bubbles defects detection in PCB following the conformal coating *** image configurations have been used to increase artificially the training model's performance, such as air bubbles size, location (on a flat PCB's surface, between components leads) and illumination, *** reaching this cap, we used a random pattern of choice regarding the images with different configurations to properly evaluate its performance, especially the accuracy, precision and *** results showed that Faster-RCNN delivers the lowest detection performance for the air bubbles located between components leads compared to the ones located on flat PCB *** paper shows the accuracy, precision and sensitivity performance results by applying the Faster-RCNN object detection architecture for air bubbles defect detection in the conformal coating application, with aim of providing reference for future research in the field of air bubbles detection. © 2021 IEEE.

This paper proposes an accelerated version of Feasible Sequential Linear Programming (FSLP): the AA(d)-FSLP algorithm. FSLP preserves feasibility in all intermediate iterates by means of an iterative update strategy based on repeated evaluation of zero-order information. This technique was successfully applied to techniques such as Model Predictive Control and Moving Horizon Estimation, but it can exhibit slow convergence. Moreover, keeping all iterates feasible in FSLP entails a large number of additional constraint evaluations. In this paper, Anderson Acceleration (AA(d)) is applied to the zero-order update strategy improving the convergence rate and therefore decreasing the number of constraint evaluations in the inner iterative procedure of the FSLP algorithm. AA(d) achieves an improved contraction rate in the inner iterations, with proven local linear convergence. In addition, it is observed that due to the improved zero-order update strategy, AA(d)-FSLP takes larger steps to find an optimal solution, yielding faster overall convergence. The performance of AA(d)-FSLP is examined for a time-optimal point-to-point motion problem of a parallel SCARA robot. The reduction of the number of constraint evaluations and overall iterations compared to FSLP is demonstrated.

The pervasiveness of the smart Internet of Things(IoTs) enables many electric sensors and devices to be connected and generates a large amount of dataflow. Compared with traditional big data, the streaming dataflow is faced with representative challenges, such as high speed, strong variability, rough continuity, and demanding timeliness, which pose severe tests of its efficient management. In this paper, we provide an overall review of IoT dataflow management. We first analyze the key challenges faced with IoT dataflow and initially overview the related techniques in dataflow management, spanning dataflow sensing, mining, control, security, privacy protection,etc. Then, we illustrate and compare representative tools or platforms for IoT dataflow management. In addition,promising application scenarios, such as smart cities, smart transportation, and smart manufacturing, are elaborated,which will provide significant guidance for further research. The management of IoT dataflow is also an important area, which merits in-depth discussions and further study.
