Cellular-connected unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) communications is an enabling technology to transmit control signaling or payload data for UAVs through cellular networks. Due to the line-of-sight dominant air-to-ground channels, efficient interference mitigation is crucial to UAV communications, while the conventional fixed-position antenna (FPA) arrays have limited degrees of freedom to suppress the interference between the UAV and its non-associated co-channel base stations (BSs). To address this challenge, we propose in this letter a new approach by utilizing the six-dimensional movable antenna (6DMA) arrays to enhance the interference mitigation for the UAV. Specifically, we propose an efficient block coordinate descent algorithm to iteratively optimize the antenna position vector, array rotation vector, receive beamforming vector, and associated BS of the UAV to maximize its signal-to-interference-plus-noise ratio. Numerical results show that the proposed 6DMA enhanced cellular-connected UAV communication can significantly outperform that with the traditional FPA arrays and other benchmark schemes in terms of interference mitigation. © 2025 IEEE. With advancements in artificial intelligence, it is natural for the health industry to focus on IOT devices. AI could promote a paradigm shift in how doctors and patients interact through immediate updates, predictive features, and remote access. The focus of this study is the outreach and employment aspects revolving around AI-enabled health care, with special attention to mHealth solutions. We searched through published data and came across 112 relevant studies identifying keywords such as accessibility, empowerment, and workforce. One of the most interesting findings was the fact that AI targeting mobile applications has the possibility of increasing access to health services by approximately 60 percent for rural areas, as well as increasing the patient cooperative rate by approximately 45%, where a predictive health tracking device has been utilized. We proposed two new measures: the Physical Activity and Nutrition Index (PANI) and Health Status Index (HSI), allowing for better diabetes risk predictions with a 0.82 AUC-ROC and better generalizability than traditional baselines, with an improvement of 12%. When identifying the best available ML models, including Logistic Regression, Random Forest, XGBoost, LightGBM, and Bayesian Neural Networks, we found that the hybrid Random Forest + Linear SVC model had the best performance with recall and accuracy of 0.77 and 0.72, respectively. The ability of the model to demonstrate both interpretability and specificity was evident. It was also observed that synthetic data augmentation (SMOTE) increased the recall for minority class predictions by 18% but did not reduce specificity. © 2025 IEEE.

Although facial expression recognition (FER) has a wide range of applications, it may be difficult to achieve under local occlusion conditions which may result in the loss of valuable expression features. This issue has motivated the present study, as a part of which an effective multi-feature cross-attention network (MFCA-Net) is proposed. The MFCA-Net consists of a two-branch network comprising a multi-feature convolution module and a local cross-attention module. Thus, it enables decomposition of facial features into multiple sub-features by the multi-feature convolution module to reduce the impact of local occlusion on facial expression feature extraction. In the next step, the local cross-attention module distinguishes between occluded and unoccluded sub-features and focuses on the latter to facilitate FER. When the MFCA-Net performance is evaluated by applying it to three public large-scale datasets (RAF-DB, FERPlus, and AffectNet), the experimental results confirm its good robustness. Further validation is performed on a real FER dataset with local occlusion of the face. © 2024 – IOS Press.

In the evolving landscape of cloud computing, federated cloud infrastructures present unique challenges and opportunities for resource and application monitoring. Monitoring the diverse array of cloud resources and applications within a federated cloud environment is crucial for delivering consistent Quality of Service (QoS) and continuous oversight across various cloud applications and infrastructure. Despite the various successes documented in the literature on multi-cloud monitoring, existing frameworks have not fully explored or provided enough insights into centralized monitoring of resources, applications, and network devices in a federated cloud environment. This paper introduces FedMonitor, an implementation architecture designed to enhance the monitoring and notification capabilities in federated cloud environments by building on the theoretical ideals in our earlier work (i.e. FEDARGOS-V1). FedMonitor leverages Prometheus and Grafana to crawl, manage and visualize metrics from diverse software services, hardware resources, and network devices within a federated cloud environment. The results demonstrate hat FedMonitor improves the effectiveness of resource and application monitoring in federated cloud environments. © 2024 IEEE.

Analysis of converting -circuit into -circuit

A $\mathfrak{C^{*}}$ -circuit, which was proposed in Asiacypt 2022 by Huang and Sun (Advances in cryptology – ASIACRYPT 2022, pp. 614–644, 2022), can directly perform calculations with the existing quantum states, thereby reducing the use of quantum resources in quantum logic synthesis. We theoretically prove how to convert a $\mathfrak{C^{0}}$ -circuit into the corresponding $\mathfrak{C^{*}}$ -circuit through two lemmas and one theorem. The first lemma proves the interchangeability of CNOT gates and NOT gates by using the equivalence of quantum circuits. The second lemma proves that adding CNOT gates to the front of a quantum circuit whose initial states are all $|0\rangle $ s will not change the output states of the circuit. The theorem is used to describe what kind of $\mathfrak{C^{0}}$ -circuit can be transformed into $\mathfrak{C^{*}}$ -circuit, and the correctness of this transformation is proved. Our work will provide a theoretical basis for converting $\mathfrak{C^{0}}$ -circuit to $\mathfrak{C^{*}}$ -circuit. Then applying the theoretical analysis results to the multiplication over $\text{GF}(2^{8})$ , the constructed quantum circuit needs 27 Toffoli gates and 118 CNOT gates, which is 15 fewer Toffoli gates and 43 CNOT gates than the current best result. This shows that the method of constructing quantum circuits by using the conversion of $\mathfrak{C^{0}}$ -circuit to $\mathfrak{C^{*}}$ -circuit is very efficient.

In this paper, the problem of collaborative vehicle sensing is investigated. In the considered model, a set of cooperative vehicles provide sensing information to sensing request vehicles with limited sensing and communication resources. A base station (BS) determines the subset of sensing request vehicles that each cooperative vehicle will serve and the sub-regions that each cooperative vehicle will detect. We formulate an optimization problem aiming to maximize the number of successfully detected sub-regions of sensing request vehicles while satisfying the cooperative sensing energy requirement by jointly determining the cooperative vehicle association and the sensing sub-region selection. To solve this problem, we propose a graph attention based reinforcement learning (RL) algorithm that can generate the graph information vectors based on the correlation between each cooperative vehicle and each sensing request vehicle. Using the learned graph information, the joint cooperative vehicle association and sensing sub-region selection strategy will be determined. Simulation results show that the proposed scheme can improve the number of successfully detected sub-regions of sensing request vehicles by up to 12.5% compared to the conventional RL algorithm without using graph attention networks (GANs). © 2024 IEEE.

The concept of privacy-by-design has gained considerable attention in the wake of legal requirements that software systems should fulfill. The interconnected knowledge on privacy concepts, legal requirements, and software development artifacts required to implement this concept can be a major burden for organizations. To address this challenge, we propose a knowledge graph-based Exploratory Search system to help organizations complete privacy engineering tasks. We identify major requirements of such systems and develop an Exploratory Search prototype built on privacy engineering knowledge that integrates different information sources. While still preliminary, this work serves as a foundation for future research on integrating privacy knowledge into software development and demonstrates the potential of Exploratory Search systems to support the cognitive process in privacy tasks such as privacy threat identification. © 2023 Copyright for this paper by its authors.

Semi-supervised learning (SSL) is a promising solution for the problem of insufficient medical labeled data. However, it is still a challenging task to segment transvaginal ultrasound (TVUS) images because of their poor contrast and speckle noise. In this study, we propose Multi-StudentNet, a semi-supervised deep-learning framework for endometrial segmentation in TVUS images. This method employs multiple student models to effectively integrate labeled and unlabeled data, improving the reliability and performance of segmentation while significantly reducing the need for extensive manual labeling. By leveraging the weights of multiple models, our framework facilitates feature sharing, which enhances model robustness. Specifically, Multi-StudentNet achieves a Dice coefficient (DSC) of 0.81 and a specificity of 0.99. Our multi-student models consistently outperform single-student models across various conditions, including normal, polyp, and cancer cases. Extensive experiments demonstrate that Multi-StudentNet achieves state-of-the-art performance in both accuracy and robustness. © 2024 IEEE.

A data-Driven DOA Estimation Based Target Localization for Internet of Unmanned System

With the rapid development of autonomous unmanned systems, the internet of unmanned agents (IUA) has emerged as a prominent research field. Direction of Arrival (DOA) estimation enables intelligent base stations (IBS) to detect the direction of unmanned device, facilitating essential functions such as target localization and tracking, and cooperative navigation, significantly enhancing the environmental perception capabilities and task execution efficiency of IUA systems. However,the traditional DOA estimation algorithms in practical complex electromagnetic mutual coupling environments are computationally intensive, incompatible with IUA's high real-time requirements. To address these challenges, this paper proposes a data-driven (DD) DOA estimation method for unmanned device localization in IUA. The IUA localization system comprises four IBS equipped with uniform linear arrays (ULAs). Device localization is achieved through DOA estimates from these four IBS. A Deep Learning (DL) is proposed to jointly address two key challenges: IUA's demand for real-time algorithm performance and mutual coupling effects between IBS sensors. A novel DL architecture is designed to estimate off-grid angle parameters and mutual coupling coefficients. The framework incorporates two learnable modules, one focusing on mutual coupling coefficients and another aimed at precise DOA estimation and associated confidence levels. The target unmanned device position is estimated using the least squares method applied to the DOA measurements from all IBSs. The proposed DL-based algorithm surpasses existing methods while maintaining low computational complexity. Extensive simulations demonstrate the high performance and real-time capabilities of the DD-based solution. © 2014 IEEE.

Large-scale skiing events are commonly conducted in complex outdoor terrains and weather conditions, where adverse weather conditions can significantly impede the smooth progress of these events. The occurrence of adverse weather conditions increases the risk of domino chains caused by meteorological disasters during large-scale skiing events. To promptly identify the cascading risks caused by adverse weather, this paper proposes a solution to promptly identify cascading risks caused by adverse weather by integrating information related to adverse weather risks of skiing events and constructing a domain knowledge ontology. The paper analyzes and identifies the risk transmission paths of adverse weather, and constructs the risk identification rule base of related event chains to enable global risk chain reasoning driven by spatiotemporal semantics. The proposed approach is demonstrated through the skiing events of the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics, from which the study correctly identifies the risk events caused by adverse weather encountered in multiple skiing events through reasoning. The results show the accuracy and feasibility of the event chain inference model. © 2023 IEEE.
