Malware seriously compromises cybersecurity and calls for sophisticated and effective categorization methods to find and lessen its effects. This research article offers a complete method based on image processing and deep learning to classify malware. ResNet18, VGG16, VGG19, AlexNet, and our custom-designed MalwareNet are among the several deep learning models we use to categorize malware photos from the nine different classes in the Big 2015 dataset-which shows a clear class imbalance. Using hyperband and bayesian optimization approaches, our strategy maximizes hyperparameters to provide the greatest performance. The hyperparameters for ResNet18, VGG16, VGG19, and AlexNet models comprise learning rate, kernel size, number of epochs, dropout rate, and dense layer size as well as particular parameters for MalwareNet including the number of neurons in each layer and the fully connected layer size. With MalwareNet obtaining especially remarkable results, the examination of our models shows great accuracy, precision, recall, and F1 scores. We examine the training accuracy, F1 score, and log loss measures in great detail; we then show the classification performance over all classes using confusion matrices. With notable increases in malware detection and categorization, the suggested model offers a strong and practical answer for uses in cybersecurity. Supported by diligent hyperparameter adjustment and performance evaluation, this work expands the field by providing a comprehensive comparison of many deep learning architectures and how effectively they classify malware. The results show how well deep learning models might improve malware detection systems and protect digital environments against hostile attacks.

Recent advances in single image super-resolution (SISR) have achieved remarkable performance through deep learning. However, the high computational cost hinders the deployment of SISR models on edge devices. Instead of proposing new SISR models, a new trend is emerging to improve network efficiency by reducing parameters, FLOPs, and inference time through slight modifications to the original models. However, recent methods usually focus on reducing only one of three metrics, i.e., FLOPs, parameters and inference time, which inevitably increases the other two metrics. In this paper, we propose a novel Adaptive Student Inference Network (ASIN) on popular SISR models, which aims at reducing FLOPs and inference time while maintaining the number of parameters and restoring clearer high-resolution images. Specifically, our ASIN divides a SISR model into three components (head, body and tail) and adopts various strategies for each part. For head and tail parts, to ensure the restored images contain more detailed information, a novel auxiliary Enhanced Teacher Network (ETNet) is designed, which is trained with the ground-truth images to obtain more prior knowledge to guide student network to extract more accurate textures using a new knowledge distillation method. For the body part, owing to the varying difficulties of the reconstructions in different regions, we propose an Adaptive Depth Predicted Module (ADPM) to dynamically shorten average depth of network to reduce the computational cost of overall network. Extensive experiments on two datasets demonstrate the effectiveness and state-of-the-art performance of our ASIN compared to its counterparts.

As a fundamental aspect of human life, two-person interactions contain meaningful information about people's activities, relationships, and social settings. Human action recognition serves as the foundation for many smart applications, with a strong focus on personal privacy. However, recognizing two-person interactions poses more challenges due to increased body occlusion and overlap compared to single-person actions. In this paper, we propose a point cloud-based network named Two-stream Multi-level Dynamic Point Transformer for two-person interaction recognition. Our model addresses the challenge of recognizing two-person interactions by incorporating local-region spatial information, appearance information, and motion information. To achieve this, we introduce a designed frame selection method named Interval Frame Sampling (IFS), which efficiently samples frames from videos, capturing more discriminative information in a relatively short processing time. Subsequently, a frame features learning module and a two-stream multi-level feature aggregation module extract global and partial features from the sampled frames, effectively representing the local-region spatial information, appearance information, and motion information related to the interactions. Finally, we apply a transformer to perform self-attention on the learned features for the final classification. Extensive experiments are conducted on two large-scale datasets, the interaction subsets of NTU RGB+D 60 and NTU RGB+D 120. Computational access point selection based on resource allocation optimization to reduce the edge computing latency

Mobile Devices (MD) and the Internet of Things (IoT) transfer compute tasks to the client through Computational Access Point (CAP) through the extensive implementation of Local Area Networks (LAN). If all IoT or mobile devices choose the same ports of entry to offload their work, then the calculation of offloading leads to an increase in operating costs. In a network of different CAP to Edge Computing (EC), this research proposes a resource allocation optimization technique and a computation offloading strategy that aims to reduce network costs by recommending the best transmit power distribution, bandwidth assignment, and computation task planning. The optimization problem of NP-hard solved by the proposed technique separates from sub-problems of resource allocation and offloading technique. An algorithm called Dynamic Weighed Quantum Arithmetic Optimization Algorithm (DWQAOA) was proposed for this offloading problem NP-hard. To achieve the ideal solution, a transition probability introduced the optimal Pareto connection during the optimization process. Numerous simulation results show that the edge task latency could be reduced from 3 to 25% relative to competing solutions. © 2022 The Authors

A Unified Modeling Framework for Automated Penetration Testing

The integration of artificial intelligence into automated penetration testing (AutoPT) has highlighted the necessity of simulation modeling for the training of intelligent agents, due to its cost-efficiency and swift feedback capabilities. Despite the proliferation of AutoPT research, there is a recognized gap in the availability of a unified framework for simulation modeling methods. This paper presents a systematic review and synthesis of existing techniques, introducing MDCPM to categorize studies based on literature objectives, network simulation complexity, dependency of technical and tactical operations, and scenario feedback and variation. To bridge the gap in unified method for multi-dimensional and multi-level simulation modeling, dynamic environment modeling, and the scarcity of public datasets, we introduce AutoPT-Sim, a novel modeling framework that based on policy automation and encompasses the combination of all sub dimensions. AutoPT-Sim offers a comprehensive approach to modeling network environments, attackers, and defenders, transcending the constraints of static modeling and accommodating networks of diverse scales. We publicly release a generated standard network environment dataset and the code of Network Generator. By integrating publicly available datasets flexibly, support is offered for various simulation modeling levels focused on policy automation in MDCPM and the network generator help researchers output customized target network data by adjusting parameters or fine-tuning the network generator. Reconstructing Human Pose from Inertial Measurements: A Generative Model-based Compressive Sensing Approach

The ability to sense, localize, and estimate the 3D position and orientation of the human body is critical in virtual reality (VR) and extended reality (XR) applications. This becomes more important and challenging with the deployment of VR/XR applications over the next generation of wireless systems such as 5G and beyond. In this paper, we propose a novel framework that can reconstruct the 3D human body pose of the user given sparse measurements from Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU) sensors over a noisy wireless environment. Specifically, our framework enables reliable transmission of compressed IMU signals through noisy wireless channels and effective recovery of such signals at the receiver, e.g., an edge server. This task is very challenging due to the constraints of transmit power, recovery accuracy, and recovery latency. To address these challenges, we first develop a deep generative model at the receiver to recover the data from linear measurements of IMU signals. The linear measurements of the IMU signals are obtained by a linear projection with a measurement matrix based on the compressive sensing theory. The key to the success of our framework lies in the novel design of the measurement matrix at the transmitter, which can not only satisfy power constraints for the IMU devices but also obtain a highly accurate recovery for the IMU signals at the receiver. This can be achieved by extending the set-restricted eigenvalue condition of the measurement matrix and combining it with an upper bound for the power transmission constraint. Our framework can achieve robust performance for recovering 3D human poses from noisy compressed IMU signals. Additionally, our pre-trained deep generative model achieves signal reconstruction accuracy comparable to an optimization-based approach, i.e., Lasso, but is an order of magnitude faster. © 2023, CC BY.

Recently, lightweight neural networks with different manual designs have presented a promising performance in single image super-resolution (SR). However, these designs rely on too much expert experience. To address this issue, we focus on searching a lightweight block for efficient and accurate image SR. Due to the frequent use of various residual blocks and attention mechanisms in SR methods, we propose the residual attention search block (RASB) which combines an operation search block (OSB) with an attention search block (ASB). The former is used to explore the suitable operation at the proper position, and the latter is applied to discover the optimal connection of various attention mechanisms. Moreover, we build the modified residual attention network (MRAN) with stacked found blocks and a refinement module. Extensive experiments demonstrate that our MRAN achieves a better trade-off against the state-of-the-art methods in terms of accuracy and model complexity. © 2021 IEEE

Output Consensus of Heterogeneous Multi-Agent systems with Mismatched Uncertainties and Measurement Noises: An ADRC Approach

In this paper, the practical output consensus problem for heterogeneous high-order leader-follower multi-agent systems under directed communication topology containing a directed spanning tree and subject to large-scale mismatched disturbances, mismatched uncertainties, and measurement noises is addressed. By introducing a reversible state transformation without changing the output, the actual total disturbance affecting output performance of each agent and matched with the control input of the transformed system is extracted and estimated by extended state observers. Then, the control protocols based on estimates of extended state observers, are designed by combing the output feedback control ones to obtain output consensus and feedforward compensators to attenuating the total disturbance of each agent actively. It is shown with a rigorous proof that the outputs of all followers can track practically the output of the leader, and all the states of the leader-follower multi-agent systems are bounded. Some numerical simulations are performed to verify the validity of the control protocols and theoretical result. Copyright © 2023, The Authors. All rights reserved.

A study on the deviations in performance of FNNs and CNNs in the realm of grayscale adversarial images

Neural Networks are prone to having lesser accuracy in the classification of images with noise perturbation. Convolutional Neural Networks, CNNs are known for their unparalleled accuracy in the classification of benign images. But our study shows that they are extremely vulnerable to noise addition while Feed-forward Neural Networks, FNNs show very less correspondence with noise perturbation, maintaining their accuracy almost undisturbed. FNNs are observed to be better at classifying noise-intensive, single-channeled images that are just sheer noise to human vision. In our study, we have used the hand-written digits dataset, MNIST with the following architectures: FNNs with 1 and 2 hidden layers and CNNs with 3, 4, 6 and 8 convolutions and analyzed their accuracies. FNNs stand out to show that irrespective of the intensity of noise, they have a classification accuracy of more than 85%. In our analysis of CNNs with this data, the deceleration of classification accuracy of CNN with 8 convolutions was half of that of the rest of the CNNs. Correlation analysis and mathematical modelling of the accuracy trends act as roadmaps to these conclusions. © 2022, CC BY.

The paper analyzes and predicts the yield of grain crops of LLP 'North-Kazakhstan Agricultural Experimental Station' for the last 30 years. The class of artificial neural networks-multilayer perceptron (MLP) was used as a research tool. The process of training of a model of a neural network consisting of 30 networks was performed on the basis of 70% training and 30% control samples. Based on the analysis of residuals histogram and scatter plot of the target and output function, the best neural network models MLP-1-7-1 (p=0.92), MLP-1-8-1 (p=0.97), MLP-1-5-1 (p=0.82) were selected. Next, using the best MLP 1-8-1 network, the model was tested the given data. Using time series projection, a graph was illustrated and a table of predicted grain yield values for the coming years was tabulated. The absolute error showed the high accuracy of the obtained best MLP 1-8-1 network for forecasting the amount of grain crop yield. The obtained model of artificial network can be applied in research and monitoring of agricultural production development. © 2023 IEEE.
