Today Web-based applications are very complex and provide several hundred users with access to sensible data. Adequate access control mechanisms that prevent unauthorized access and gives policy-compliant access to users depending on their status are thus central. The online conference service (OCS) is a system of services which collectively provide all necessary workflows and functionalities an online decision support service needs. Here we describe its flexible role-based access control mechanism and introduce the embedded role management service, which is extensible, modifiable and reconfigurable online, during the service operations. We also discuss a first version of the personalized role management service as used in the OJS, the journal member of the product line initiated by the OCS

The results of application of the invariance condition as the basic principle of the synergetic control theory to a stochastic biomedical object - immunology, are presented. Using four-dimensional nonlinear base object with a delay, it is shown that the assumptions on the object controllability in the state space and the analytical description of the target invariant of the system are the sufficient conditions for an existence of a stochastic regulator minimizing the dispersion of the output variable in transferring a random controlled object to a target manifold of states.

Interdisciplinary product development is faced with the collaboration of diverse roles and a multitude of interrelated artifacts. Traditional and sequential process models cannot deal with the long-lasting and dynamic behavior of the development processes of today. Moreover, development processes have to be tailored to the needs of the projects, which are usually distributed today. Thus, keeping these projects on track from a methodology point of view is difficult. In order to deal with these challenges, this paper will present a novel method engineering and enactment approach. It combines the ideas of workflow technologies and product line engineering for method engineering as well as agent technology for the development process enactment.

We show how our integrated test environment can be used for the validation of evolving Internet services, since it captures the (re-)configuration phase preceding the 'classical' steady state usage. This capability is extremely important to test applications and products based on the high-end HICOM switch family: via a specific application they allow the remote, web-browser and Internet-based configuration of services built upon a new-generation, virtual switch. The paper illustrates this capability while focussing on the challenge of dealing with high availability systems.

Reliable classification of human emotional states from speech is dependent on speech signal processing algorithms and classification methods. The reliability is especially affected by the database of emotional speech informative parameters used to train classification methods. The paper is aimed at studying the influence of informative speech signal parameters on classification reliability of human emotional states based on a Recurrent Neural Network (RNN). The research is to expand the information space for emotional speech parameters through the use of an original signal representation algorithm based on Empirical Mode Decomposition (EMD), and assessing the impact on classification reliability using a five-layer RNN. The article outlines the research relevance and provides a brief overview of related academic papers. Local and global informative speech parameters relevant to human emotional states are considered in detail. The emotional speech database is described, and the speech signal representation algorithm based on modified decomposition methods is characterized. The research results on the method for classifying human emotional states based on a five-layer RNN using original and extended databases of emotional speech informative parameters are presented. Reliability assessment was performed by computing the confusion matrix for multi-class classification. The research results have evidenced an increase in classification reliability of human emotional states by an average of 2.66 % through expanding the information space for emotional speech parameters. The reliability ranges from 97.4 % to 98.3 % for the classification of emotional states, and from 95.8 % to 98.2 % for the classification of emotions. © 2024 IEEE.

QoS solutions for Core Internet Networks require that we pay special attention to scalability, as they deal with a lot of flows and demand many resources. In this paper, integrated solutions from the physical layer (SDH/SONET and DTM) to the IP layer (IntServ and DiffServ) are analysed and proposed, concentrating not only on scalability, but also on QoS guarantees.

DC traction motors are widely used in all branches of urban economy. They began to be used in industry about a hundred years ago with the advent of the first calculation methods. When designing a DC motor, it is important to consider it comprehensively, together with the electric drive system. The article discusses the application of a more correct approach to modeling a series-excited DC motor using the ANSYS software package, in particular, the ANSYS RMxprt/Maxwell/Simplorer bundle. The main stages of initial data input are considered and the main calculation results are shown. Using ANSYS Maxwell allows you to quickly and automatically build a typical machine geometry using RMxprt. When solving non-standard structures, it is possible to use 3D design with step-by-step elements. The analysis of the obtained graphic dependences of electric power parameters makes it possible to judge the efficiency of the electric motor and its operational properties in idling and under load. The simulation results show excellent agreement with the data obtained experimentally. © 2023 IEEE.

The lock is a building-block synchronization primitive that enables mutually exclusive access to shared data in shared-memory parallel programs. Mutual exclusion is typically achieved by guarding the code that accesses the shared data with a pair of lock() and unlock() operations. Concurrency bugs arise when this ordering of operations is violated. In this paper, we study a particular pattern of misuse where an unlock() is issued without first issuing a lock(), which can happen in code with complex control flow. This misuse is surprisingly common in several important open-source repositories we study. We systematically study what happens due to this misuse in several popular locking algorithms. We study how misuse can be detected and how the locking protocols can be fixed to avoid the unwanted consequences of misuse. Most locks require simple changes to detect and prevent this misuse. We evaluate the performance traits of modified implementations, which show mild performance penalties in most scalable locks. © 2023, CC BY-SA.

This article examines modern methods for analysis and dynamic process modeling with the context of the capabilities, characteristics and advantages of types of multiagent systems. A practical implementation of the “Data to Action” model is proposed through the research simulation modeling system “Photovoltaic (PV) to Smart Energy Storage (SES) Grid”, developed by the authors using a Multi-Agent System for simulating the process of generating electricity produced by a PV park, its storage with the possibility of Time-Shifting and sale of energy.
