After more than a decade of research in Model-Driven engineering(MDE), the state-of-the-art and the state-of-the-practice in MDEhas significantly progressed. Therefore, during this workshop we raised the question of how to proceed next, and we identified a number of future challenges in the field of MDE. The objective of the workshop was to provide a forum for discussing the future of MDE research and practice. Seven presenters shared their vision on the future challenges in the field of MDE. Four breakout groups discussed scalability, consistency and co-evolution, formal foundations, and industrial adoption, respectively. These themes were identified as major categories of challenges by the *** report summarises the different presentations, the MDE challenges identified by the workshop participants, and the discussions of the breakout groups.

As a fundamental problem of wireless sensor networks, the minimal exposure path problem corresponding to the sensor network's worst-case coverage plays an important role in the applications for detecting intrusions. However, most existing works about minimal exposure path are based on omnidirectional sensors. In contrast, this paper studies the minimal exposure path problem for directional sensor networks. We first develop a directional sensing model: directional sensitivity model. Then, we formulate the minimal exposure path problem by using two sensing intensity functions: all-sensor intensity function and maximum-sensor intensity function, and generate two weighted grids to convert the minimal exposure path problem into two discrete geometric problems. Based on the above weighted grids, we also develop two approximation algorithms to find the minimal exposure path for the directional sensitive model. We conduct extensive simulations to validate and evaluate our proposed models and algorithms.

In wireless sensor networks, most existing works on region coverage mainly concentrate on the omnidirectional sensor based full coverage, which ensures that all points in the sensor-deployed region are covered. In contrast, this paper studies the problem of exposure-path prevention for the region coverage in directional sensor networks. Because the exposure paths are prevented as long as no moving objects or phenomena can go through a sensor-deployed region without being detected, exposure-path prevention does not require full coverage, and instead it only needs the partial coverage. Towards this end, we apply the percolation theory to solve the exposure path problem for directional sensor networks. In particular, we map the exposure path problem into a sector based percolation model, and then derive the bounds of critical density where directional sensors are deployed according to a 2-dimensional Poisson process. Also conducted is a set of extensive simulations to validate and evaluate our developed models and schemes. ©2009 IEEE.

FastCluster: a graph theory based algorithm for removing redundant sequences

In many cases, biological sequence databases contain redundant sequences that make it difficult to achieve reliable statistical analysis. Removing the redundant sequences to find all the real protein families and their representatives from a large sequences dataset is quite important in bioinformatics. The problem of removing redundant protein sequences can be modeled as finding the maximum independent set from a graph, which is a NP problem in Mathematics. This paper presents a novel program named FastCluster on the basis of mathematical graph theory. The algorithm makes an improvement to Hobohm and Sander’s algorithm to generate non-redundant protein sequence sets. FastCluster uses BLAST to determine the similarity between two sequences in order to get better sequence similarity. The algorithm’s performance is compared with Hobohm and Sander’s algorithm and it shows that Fast- Cluster can produce a reasonable non-redundant pro- tein set and have a similarity cut-off from 0.0 to 1.0. The proposed algorithm shows its superiority in generating a larger maximal non-redundant (independent) protein set which is closer to the real result (the maximum independent set of a graph) that means all the protein families are clustered. This makes Fast- Cluster a valuable tool for removing redundant protein sequences.

In disaster area, where the infrastructures is partially or fully destroyed, a form of communication to allow information been shared among rescue team is needed. Since Mobile ad-hoc network is easy to setup and required less infrastructure therefore it is a suitable candidate to work in disaster area. Despite of its uniqueness, this network is highly vulnerable to malicious node and also to threats. In rescue mission scenario, information needs to be shared among trusted and legal nodes only hence a mechanism to restrict an access to information in this network is extremely important. In this paper, we outline the access control requirement for this network and proposed the secure access control architecture based on the requirements. Based on the proposed architecture, we derive a Group Based access control scheme, to show how an access to information in mobile ad-hoc environment at emergency rescue mission is working. The stability of Boolean networks and the stabilization of Boolean control networks are *** semi-tensor product of matrices and the matrix expression of logic,the dynamics of a Boolean(control) network can be converted to a discrete time linear(bilinear) dynamics,called the algebraic form of the Boolean(control) *** provide a framework for this *** results consist of two parts:(i) Using logic coordinate transformation,the known sufficient condition based on incidence matrix has been *** is also used in stabilizer design.(ii)Based on algebraic form,necessary and sufficient conditions for stability of Boolean networks and stabilization of Boolean control networks respectively are obtained.

As its free, rich code resource and supporting many kinds of CPU architecture, Linux is making steady progress in the embedded arena. The Virtex-II Pro serials development system, produced by Xilinx company, provides an advanced hardware platform that consists of a high performance Virtex serials platform FPGA surrounded by a comprehensive collection of peripheral components that can be used to create a complex system and meet different special embedded application areas. This paper mainly introduces porting embedded Linux to the XUP Virtex- II Pro development system, and using serials of development tool kits. It is a good guide to develop embedded system with FPGA development system and Linux.
